I was in town visiting my cousin and we decided to check to place out. All I can say is this place is horrible. First off coming from DC I’m use to high cost drink, but $ 13 bucks for a crown royal and coke ?? There was a cover charge of $ 20, it should be free to get in this horrible spot. Theres bingo tables in the middle of the dance floor with cheap black table cloths. Bunch of big bears that rather sit and eat wings and ppl watch than actually socialize. To top it off we were standing near the dance floor and out of the blue this unseen creature try to dance with my cousin and I; we had to literally retreat towards the bar to get away. Ppl are dress horrible the females are out of shape and have the most ratchet outfits I seen. I hope this not what the rest of Houston had to offer. Oh and to top this off, I had a girl literally Eye rape me twice, the. She decides to head my way near the bar looking at me dead in the eye, comes up to me and the ask me to move out the way to order a drink. Im sure she got nervous and didn’t know what to say. To top this off; STAYAWAY !! If your looking for an urban professional setting this is not the spot. Expect EBT cardholders and low income housing citizen in the crowd. Did I say $ 20 cover charge ?? What a joke !!

Unlike the hapless mammary-gland-seeker of the last review, I knew what I was getting into. I also didn’t expect more than a few locals in a deserted warehouse space on a Wed night, which is what we found. But the bartender was a down-to-earth awesome guy with a good knowledge of the town and some good recs. I’m sure the place is better on the weekends!

Well, to be fair enough, this is a biased review. I was visiting Unilocal looking for places to go in galveston, and i saw the review above. Just in case it gets removed or something, it said«New club opening mid-August. Go-go dancers! Check back later for more info…» I thought to myself… sweet! Go go dancers!!! I looked up the club online and it said«Groove is Galveston’s funkiest, edgiest new dance club, and is located on famed Postoffice Street in historic downtown Galveston. Groove features two full-service bars, a state-of-the-art sound and lighting system, oh-so-cool go-go dancers, and comfortable seating throughout. When you’re looking for the ultimate Island destination, groove on over to Groove, featuring a big city club sound and some of the best fun you’ll find on the Island.» With those being the only two ideas of the club I had in my mind, and picturing hot texan girls dancing… I was sold! I drove about 20 minutes to get to the place, found a parking spot, and started walking. Once I get inside I look to my left and right and see a fair mix of people, and the music is decent. After about 5 seconds I notice people crowding around a guy who is on a stage, shirtless wearing what at first glance looked like a speedo. But… it wasn’t just a mere speedo. It was a speedo with a hose like attachment in the front for his member. Well, I guess that’s what they mean by «go-go dancers»…Then I thought to myself… is this a gay club? I mean i went to school out in the bay area, and the bay area(well at least San Fran) is gay capital USA, so if I’m all the way out in Texas I want to experience something different. About 30 seconds later a guy pinches me and tells me «you’se a fine black man» Goodbye.
