Contender Sports Bar

Checked in here and tried to take advantage of the deal they had to offer. I was told that the previous manager posted the deal and they will not honor it. No offer to do anything in substation of the bad deal. Customer service is non existent. Would not recommend this bar.

new management is about to change the name to the «fishbowl»
but, all else is the same.
tv’s everywhere… friendly staff

Must go sports bar ! Wonderful music this afternoon. With few patrons during this time but great bartender (Andy) and music.(Carl Smith) were as if we were the only ones there. will be back

Looking for a sports bar to watch my 49er playoff game, we decided to head to the Strand to check things out. As we walked around we started to get a little discouraged feeling like we weren’t going to be able to watch the game. Then we saw a sign that said «Sports bar.» Yay!
We walked in and there were tvs EVERYWHERE. No matter where you sat you could see the tvs. We decided to sit at the bar and had an awesome bartender taking care of us. He poured the drinks strong and joked around with us the whole time.
They have Golden Tee, Buckhunter, and a bowling game. They are all the newest editions too.
They don’t have food but other patrons were ordering pizza from next door and eating it at the bar.
Definitely stop here for your next sporting event or just for a drink and say hi to some friendly people!
