I felt extremely uncomfortable with some, well most of his comments. I don’t think I will be going to him again. I just wanted a fun time with myself and my friend, but it felt a bit sexist and his eyes watching us in our swim suits. I’m looking forward to seeing who also has surf lessons on the island. Never again with this pervert!

Great team of instructors that does an excellent job! We were a group of five, yet they had instructors for each of us and gave us tons of individual attention. I was a total beginner and learned a lot really quickly, and I definitely got a lot of bang for my buck with C Sick Surfing. Would use them again and I recommend them to anyone!

Can’t say enough good things about Brian and his crew. My daughter took 3 times with them while we were down this week. All the guys are very patient & comfortable working with kids. They get everyone up on the board quickly and make sure they have a good time. We’ve taken lessons & camps out in California and found this school to be better and more reasonably priced than those experiences. Groups are kept small with no more than a few kids or adults per instructor.

Very friendly and professional. My 10-year old sons, both of whom had no prior surfing experience, were up on the board and surfing by the end of the lesson. Their instructor was Vic and he was fantastic! Definitely recommend them! Be sure to pay the $ 10 extra fee for photographs! The photographer gets in the water and gets some great shots.

Husband and I met up with Brian from C-Sick yesterday for our very first lesson. We went over some basics on the beach, and within 30 minutes we were riding waves. Brian knows a lot about surfing and makes you feel comfortable in the water. Total bonus: We also met another instructor/surfer, Roobin who took a bunch of pictures for us and sent them to us that evening. We apprecaited being able to have some memories(and proof) that we actually rode the waves :) Brian is very specific about your strengths and weaknesses and tells you what to work on when you get home, as far as out-of-water drills goes. We cannot wait to take our next lesson and start surfing on our own. Highly recomend these guys for anyone who wants to try surfing. You will become addicted.

Think less. Become a noodle. Duh. Strangely, this is the best surfing advice I’ve ever gotten. My third time out, Brian and Travis had me standing up at least half the time, and not just standing up, but riding the wave in. I almost had some grace doing it too! That alone should say something about the instruction here. They’re patient and extremely encouraging. And Brian doesn’t just teach you HOW to surf, he teaches you all about surfing — how waves come in, all the right terms, etc. Things that, if you’re planning on getting into it/have the stoke, you kinda need to know. Oh, and I’m going back this weekend(with the delusional goal of cross stepping and hanging ten by the end of the summer in mind).

Brian and Steven were excellent surfing instructors. I took my son with me for a lesson and within 15 minutes we were able to catch some waves. We had a great time and look forward to coming back to learn more.

My husband and I spent the weekend in Galveston over the 4th of July and since the water is too murky to go snorkeling(my fav thing to do in the ocean), I decided to book us surf lessons. When we visited the North Shores of Oahu and saw people catching the HUGE waves, I’ve wanted to learn ever since so here was our chance. We met by the seawall on the south side of the island 15 min early, but Brian, our instructor, got down to business. He definitely knows what he’s talking about and will take the time to educate you EVERYTHING about surfing – from taking in your surroundings, watching the waves/currents to surfing terminology and techniques. We used soft top boards and practiced popping up – going from laying in the middle of the board to the upright position in one, swift motion. When we tried this out in the water, it was MUCH harder, but he assured us that he had a 100% success rate. After a few tries, I managed to stand up and ride a few waves onto the beach, whereas my husband had more trouble. He doesnt exactly have the best sense of balance so he’d fall over a LOT. But eventually he did stand up and make it! Brian stresses the basics and the fundamentals of surfing and eventually, we got it! He was really cool about everything and our lesson went well over 2 hours. I’d highly recommend him if you’re looking for lessons. If he could get my husband to stand up on a surf board, anyone can!
