Wonderful environment, service, and food. Our server, Susan, was quite personable and friendly. Every day is a different gourmet coffee that is absolutely delicious. Very clean and pleasant ambience! Highly recommend this restaurant!

We just had lunch there. It was ok. We were expecting wonderful food, but found this to be overpriced for the portions and just not very tasty. We ordered a sandwich –which was smallish and came with nice marinated veggies(the best part of the dish but way too small), a burgundy beef crêpe(sort of bland, with a bunch of sour cream on top and that was it –it should have been served with a salad at least). We also has a not very exciting polenta. The house coffee was thin as water.

We came on a Saturday morning and the hostess definitely didn’t want to be there then our server was so eehhh, it made me wish we had the black haired waitress; she was super helpful and cheerful to the table next to us! Food wasn’t what we expected at all either so definitely won’t be coming back. An order of crepes, chicken dinner and a half sandwich for $ 50 bucks, no thanks!

Spinach bisque is amazing. Light and delicious food plus good service. Kids choices that actually so effort in being good. Decent beer selection. Should really be a landmark.

Things are much improved. Our last meal here was delicious, and prepared from scratch. Still gets top marks for ambiance, but now the food is an attraction, too. But I still reserve my highest ratings for En Season and Baked.

This small place in a downtown shopping district has surprisingly elegant food, including a few vegetarian options. This place was a pleasant discovery on the plains along Interstate 74. I plan to eat here again.

This is not only one of the most remarkable restaurants that I have ever reviewed, it is one of the most incredible eating experiences that I have ever had in my life! How lucky Galesburg is to have such a gemstone as this in its midst! Located only a stone’s throw from Macomb, it presents an unforgettable dining experience while driving from Chicago to WIU(which is why we stopped in) because it is on the way. It elongated our trip by only 9 minutes to drive through Galesburg but it is worth a destination stop, believe me. This is a Five Star CHICAGO dining experience but at half the price(even though it is not cheap) with stellar service to match. I’ve included pictures of everything we ordered which was a pretty full range of selections from their well rounded menu. My wife and I are vegan and there were plentiful choices for us and the other four in our party were meat eaters who were satiated beyond their wildest expectations, so there are no holes or gaps in the menu that we could find. I am going to quote off the old menu which used to have a little bit of history on it, «Housed in a building which has been designated a landmark site by the City of Galesburg Landmark Commission, ours was the first commercial building in Galesburg to be awarded this distinction. The architecture is recognized as typical of Galesburg’s early commercial masonry in the Italianate style, displaying characteristic arched windows capped by hooded ornaments. Built in the 1880’s, the building’s ornate pressed tin ceiling is original. Over the years, the building has housed a cigar factory, a pawn shop, an appliance store, an electric repair business, a printer, a clothing store, a tobacco shop, and a book store. The Landmark Café and Crêperie opened in 1978.» Also, on their website is this added information: «In 1976 the building was partially gutted by fire and subsequently restored, with an effort made to salvage many of the original components of the building as possible.» You want to stop here. I cannot recommend it highly enough!

A random stop for breakfast off the highway based on Unilocal reviews. Service was fast and friendly. The inside is quaint and interesting. We were told the specials, and I opted for the blueberry pancakes. Being the«special» I expected something special. These were ok, but nothing I couldn’t have gotten at Dennys or IHOP. Disappointed. The wifes pecan waffle ws good, but again, not enough to bring us back.

I have been to this place numerous times and I’ve decided to write a review. This place is a hidden gem. The hostess appears to racist. My boyfriend and I decided to eat here one morning and we wanted to have the table by the window. She told us it was reserved. Ten minutes later we watched as she showed a group of boys to a table, they couldn’t make up their minds and they pointed to the table by the window to which she sat them there. This isn’t the first encounter I’ve had with her. I don’t like her attitude and I don’t like her demeanor In regard to food: The lobster bisque soup is to die for. The pesto omelette is very tasty and savory. The waffles are cooked to perfection. I’m not a coffee person but their coffee selection is unique and tasty. They have a coffee of the day everyday. As for seating: There are many tables and they even have a lovely«garden» outdoor seating. I will definitely be back very soon.

Very nice and worth comming over to this small restaurant in downton Galesburg. I’ve been twice here during my bussiness trip and probably will come back for a third time. The food feels like it has quality ingredients and the plates are nicely presented, the menu is decent and they have pretty good appetizers that you can actually upgrade to a full size meal. Had the seared tuna and cheese quiche among other things and it was pretty good. Cant complain about service, they are very friendly too. :)

Short Version: If someone had told me that the«creperie» was basically a full-service café, I would have laughed at them, but that’s exactly what this is. So many food options that I had a problem choosing a favorite with elegant service and high-quality food. Enjoyed my experience here — and while it’s too expensive to be a regular place, I’d definitely come back. Expect a «formal, sit-down» atmosphere — not your laid-back café or coffee shop experience. Long Version: This place is elegant. It’s a step above pretty much any other café or coffee shop that I tend to visit. I wouldn’t say«pretentious», but I would say«formal». All of the waitstaff is dressed in black and white(looks like a strict dress code) while the ambiance is dimmed lighting with gentle music in the background. The silverware is dantily wrapped while the small water glasses have a distinct style to them. The waitress was happy to talk about their daily specials — and some of their food is only available when it’s a daily special. This definitely is a more formal set-down café than lots of other places. I was instantly surprised by the menu. A couple and myself came here, and while we were definitely excited for the crepes, everyone needed more time with the menu because they just have THAT many options available. Unilocal is super helpful in that the mobile version provides the entire menu to look through — seriously give it a look through if you’re worried about finding something or taking too long. So many things are going to sound delicious. Service was fantastic here. Seating is a bit cramped as the restaurant isn’t huge and they’ve tried to fit in quite a few tables, but as we were seated along the wall, we didn’t mind so much. We were seated very promptly and the waitress was very attentive to refilling our water glasses, taking our order, and bringing and taking care of the check right away. She was friendly as well — including answering some of our questions about the food. It is a bit pricey to get a bite to eat here. Most of the entrée items vary between $ 10 – 14. This isn’t too expensive, but the portion sizes are smaller than what you’d get at most restaurants. The food tastes amazing, but be aware that you won’t get as large of portions as you may be used to from other cafes. I ended up having Chicken & Broccoli Fettuccine, and it was good! Much smaller portions than I usually get(though I got the«Small Portion» size) while still costing more than anywhere I usually get pasta. It was good, though, and I enjoyed the sauce. it was very smooth and creamy. I was surprised to find that the broccoli wasn’t steamed or softened in any way, though. It was still entirely crunchy — which disrupted the deliciousness of the pasta, I’ll admit. I was also kinda surprised at the coffee selection. As-in, it’s pretty minimal. They have black coffee(free refills), espresso, a latte, and a cappucino, and… that’s it. For being a café, I was surprised. No chilled coffees. No coffee blends. Nothing that’s really all that«interesting». Just the basic stuff. They also serve teas and alcohol as well, so you’ll probably be able to find a good beverage that you enjoy, but as someone that wanted a neat coffee with my meal, I was disappointed. Would definitely come back. Felt a bit too«formal» for me to want to come here on a regular basis and it’s a bit expensive for my tastes, but it was a good experience and they have lots of other dishes that I still want to try.

Fresh fruit and roast duck salad — yes! This was an amazing lunch spot on my drive through Galesburg. Thank you Unilocal for the suggestion. It has a beautiful antique interior, friendly waitstaff, and great downtown location. I will definitely return. Coffee is high quality too for a lunch café!

Great food and nice servers. Hostess was a peach. Waitress was accommodating and freely gave recommendations. Four of us has two appetizers. The garlic and butter bread was excellent. The tuna appetizer was perfectly done and wasabi was on the side and thin enough so you don’t overdo it. The entrees we ordered were all great. Crab cakes were perfect and«the best» my daughter ever had. The chicken and mushroom entrée was flavorful and my other daughter saved extra for later. Wife had chicken pot pie. Hers is the best in my humble opinion but she said this was the best. I had spicy sausage pasta with hand cut tomatoes which was great. The house Merlot half carafe was perfect to accompany. Dessert was recommended by the waitress. She said to try either bananas foster crêpe or turtle crêpe. We did both and double order of cashew fingers. Added coffee special(butterscotch) and it was the perfect end. Highly recommend a try here!

Realistically, this is a four-star place that gets an upgrade based on longevity, consistency and nostalgia. I graduated from Knox and have many fond memories of the land shark over the last few decades. I remember taking college girlfriends here for eggs benedict when hung over. I remember going with any number of friends in the same condition and for the same reason. I may have even made an appearance or two at lunch and/or dinner. I remember making it a regular detour when I was back for one event or another. I’ve taken my wife(also a Knox grad) and kids here on several occasions too. When in Galesburg this place remains at the very top of my list. Most recently, I scheduled my travel for an alumni event at the Fiji House so that I could come here for lunch beforehand. Having recently had some dental work, I knew that spinach bisque and quiche was exactly what the doctor ordered. Spinach bisque was exactly as remembered. Warm, creamy, slightly salty and with enough spinach that one could stretch the definition and consider it a vegetable… if a vegetable enrobed in a cream-based soup can still be considered a vegetable. Quiche of the day was smoked salmon with roasted red peppers. I would have preferred a little more salmon but that’s alright — it was still delicious. Flaky crust, firm filling, beautiful blend of flavors. Yum! It was especially nice to sit by the front window and watch life going by on Seminary Street for a little while early on a Saturday afternoon… without being hung over.

Hit it out of the park during my last visit. Brought a guest again, and the service was on point again and friendly. The owner took the time to seat us and speak with us and was very friendly. I changed it up a bit and tried a different breakfast dish this time around, and this too was a hit. The pancake was even better this time, and I learned you can order your pancake to suit your tastes. My guest enjoyed a waffle with fruit and the Eggs Benedict. But what really floored me wasn’t the breakfast alone, but the treat we had after breakfast. The owner was excited for us to try the spinach bisque, which we hand yet but heard good things about. He offered us some to try later in the day, and I am glad to say we did. Outstanding, with a good flavor and plenty of spinach. Overall, two outstanding experiences in a row at brunch. Five stars.

I’ll keep this short and sweet. I’ve been to The Landmark way too many times to count as I was a student at Knox College(a few blocks away) and I return at least once a year for homecoming and/or commencement. Every trip back I take, I always end up at The Landmark. The restaurant is so good that I can never decide what to order until the last second and then I usually go ‘off the cuff’ and just say some random thing. I’m never disappointed. Here are a few must tries: 1) Spinach Bisque — take my word for it. 2) Beef Burgundy Crêpe 3) Quiche(Changes daily)
