I signed up for a package of 5 treatments for a modified bikini pain-free laser hair removal for $ 1300. I was most concerned with the experience of the staff, so when I scheduled my first appointment, I asked for the tech with the most experience. They made my appt. with a tech who I was told had over 2 years experience. But when i arrived for my appt. a few weeks later, they said that tech was no longer working there. So i questioned how much experience the tech who was scheduled to do my procedure had. It was sufficient and the tech was nice and competent and I liked her. I requested her for the next appt. But then when I came for the next appt., that tech was no longer working there. This happened maybe one or two more times. The staff turnover seems high. It’s a bit suspicious. One time, they tried to put me with a tech that looked about 18 years old and nervous. She was so new that they asked if I minded if another tech could observe her. I said I didn’t want a novice doing my procedure. I said I wanted the other tech to do my procedure(the one who was supposed to observe). They agreed. Then they asked if the novice could observe. I said no, since I was undressed during the procedures, I didn’t want an extra person there. They were polite about it, but it was uncomfortable for me to have to tell the girl that she couldn’t do my procedure and that she couldn’t observe. After 5 treatments, I didn’t see much results. Maybe only a 10% hair loss. So I called to complain and had to talk with the salon manager. She agreed to give me a free treatment. This time, they used the painful laser(i think it’s called Paloma). I didn’t use numbing cream, but it wasn’t so bad. As I was walking out, the tech commented that they weren’t going to use the pain-free laser anymore because it wasn’t that effective. I wish I recorded that quote. I still didn’t see much results and had to argue for 2 additional free treatments. While arguing, I quoted what the tech said above, but they all denied that. They said they weren’t going to use the pain-free laser anymore because of a problem getting replacement parts from the manufactor. I’m surprised I was able to argue a total of 8 treatments when I only paid for 5. I did 7 treatments at Kentlands, so when I called to make my 8th appt., I figured it was also at Kentlands. They never called to confirm, so something made me call them to confirm that day. That is when they told me my appt. was at White Flint. It would have been nice if they told me when I had made the appt. So after 8 treatments, I would say the hair removal more or less worked. I think I could use one more treatment to say I’m 100% hair free. This week I got an email saying: Great news: You’ve earned $ 300 Member Beauty Bucks to spend on Reveal services! Even better, your Beauty Bucks can be combined with the following discounts. …then they went to list their discounts such as 40% of packages, 35% off LaserLipo, etc. I thought — great. I need one more treatment and since my follow-up treatments were supposed to be $ 175, the $ 300 would more than cover it and I would get it free. When I called, she said the $ 300 was only for new services. I said it didn’t say that in the email. She said that is their policy. I said it didn’t say that in the email, that is false advertising. We went back and forth for a while, both repeating ourselves. I’m not a lawyer, but that sounds like false advertising. Anyway, that is where I am now. The lady who sent me the email wasn’t available when I called, so she is supposed to call me back, but I’m sure she’ll tell me the same thing as the first lady. Overall, I would not recommend going here. Another reviewer nailed it in her review of the Washington DC Reveal. Part of her review said: «I get a weird feeling there, I can’t place my finger on it, but it seems like the front desk staff and sales staff is overly friendly, almost as if they know they’re running a scam.» I get that feeling too. That said, I do have 90% hair loss. I went to the beach last weekend and shaving took only one minute and I didn’t have the red bumps and stubble. So that was nice. But don’t be fooled if they say it can take only 5 treatments. I think to be totally hair-free, I need 9 treatments. I’m white with brown hair so I’m a good candidate.
