I have been going to this salon for many years. The staff are all extremely welcoming and professional. The stylists are up to date on all the newest looks and trends. The salon is clean and you feel well taken care of from the moment you enter to the moment you leave. I highly recommend this salon.

I got a deal through Living Social for a Keratin treatment($ 300 value for $ 175). I’ve had this treatment done before elsewhere and loved the results. I thought I’d give this place a try because it was a good price. What a mistake! I drove more than one and a half hours to get to this little hole in the wall. Erica did the treatment. First of all, she told me she was using a product that contained Formaldehyde! I was shocked to say the least. She left the treatment in my hair and told me not to wash it for three days. This was not how I’d had it done before. Part of what I had loved about Keratin was how silky and soft my hair had been when I left the other salon.(Studio 103 in Rockville). My hair looked and felt gross with all that product in it. But I figured Erica knew what she was doing. WRONG! No washing, no ponytail for four days. When I did wash it, it immediately curled up. Yes, most of the frizz was gone, but it looked terrible. I called and was told to come back down so they could look at it. I said No, it was too far and gas was still 3.50/gallon. So I sent an e-mail with pictures and asked for a refund. They told me to get a refund through Living Social. This salon should have had to refund my money directly. Don’t ever get this service at On the Edge salon. They don’t know what they’re doing! Spend the four or five-hundred dollars and get it done somewhere that has good reviews.

Sup-par massage that was way under the time it was supposed to be. Masseuse also tried to sell me other services before, during, and after my massage. I came here for a massage through Groupon. It was supposed to be 1 hour. Ended up being much shorter than that. Overall, not the worst massage I’ve ever had, but definitely not worth the price given the amount of time spent talking /wiping me off with hot towels(see below) which was included in my massage hour. It probably worked out to being approximately 30 minutes of very gentle massage time. My masseuse was Shiasta. She came out before the massage to talk to me. She seemed very friendly and eager to get to know me, which was nice. She explained that she would do a full body and that I could tell her to go harder if I wanted. I explained to her that I wanted firm pressure, focus on my back and shoulders. She insisted on also doing my legs, feet, arms, and hands, and ultimately didn’t spend that much time on my back/shoulders. Her pressure was very light, despite me asking for firmer pressure a few times. She also used a LOT of oil on my body, which left me feeling kind of greasy afterwards, despite the fact that the last 10 minutes or so of the massage involved her rubbing me down with hot towels. Unfortunately, while the wet hot towels were nice initially, they quickly cooled down and became cold towels, which did not feel good at all. The Massage room is not insulated from noise at all, so you can hear conversations/blowdryers/etc from the salon. Furthermore, the massage table isn’t also a real massage table in that there isn’t the doughnut shaped face hole. You have to lie with your face to the side or just lie face down and crush your nose under the weight of your head. When I asked for the face piece, I was given a little neck pillow that did very little.

So I came here for a European facial from groupon. We came in and the front desk lady was nice check us in. We hang our coat in coat closet. She offer us water, coffee, tea and bagels. The lady came out and I went first for my facial she seem very nice as I’m walking to the room I see the bagel cream-cheese with a plastic knife in the floor though was not hygienic at all. The facial room was a little small but ok. So she start doing the facial let me add she didn’t ask me for my skin type any allergies nothing. and I have done facial before and just felt like I payed for what I got. I feel she just took out a little pores out I don’t know. She ask me about doing my eyebrows before the facial begun and I said no I’m letting them grow. As she finishing the facial she said she going do them I said no I said I’m growing them she still decide to do them and said if you don’t like you won’t pay. At this point I’m annoyed and upset she didn’t even told me how much I was going pay for it nothing. I was like there ok I wasn’t in love with it but annoyed the whole situation and it was $ 15 which was pricey for me for her to just clean them up. But lesson learn.

I have been going to this salon for many years. I love the personal attention given by the entire staff. It is great to be greeted at the door when you walk in and you feel like you are being pampered from the moment you walk in the door. They are always up-to-date with new hair styles and willing to try anything.
