We bought one clarinet and a trumpet at this store for our sons who played from grade school to now(adults!), and one is majoring in Music in college. This store has given us amazing service in buying and servicing instruments, sometimes emergency repair. Always have given fair prices.

My husband has been a long time customer and this is the only place in the Washington metro area that we patronize for instrument purchase, repairs and good advice. I have purchased saxophone, clarinets and flutes from Steve. I find the prices are fair, the repair service is top notch and the staff are pleasant and professional. It is a pleasure to do business there.

I would suggest finding a more honest and reputable company for your musical needs. J&J *demanded* that I give them my social security number along with my credit card for their protection. I am not required to give a ssn# to rent a car. I was trying renting a small brass instrument. The sales person and manager were very rude. They also insisted that I did not understand how the internet works.

Excellent repair service on my tenor saxophone. Steve and all the repair staff are top notch technicians, love their craft, and give their utmost attention each horn. I will be a long term customer as long as I’m in the area.

My daughter plays sax and clarinet. We have found L&L to be top notch in service, repairs, rental and advice. I highly recommend them. They are committed to quality and support local schools and youth music as well as professional musicians.

This used to be my go-to place for instrument repairs and to pick up music books and supplies for my music studio. I used to be able to drop in, pass the time and catch up with other music teachers, and even get the odd minor repair done while I waited, and I had been recommending L&L without hesitation to my own private students too. About 2 – 3 years ago, though, I found it harder and harder to get anyone’s attention when I came in to shop, and more than once I’ve left the store without purchasing anything, leaving my selected items on the counter while the staff carried on around me and didn’t acknowledge my presence, let alone wait on me. Recently, a student of mine brought her instrument in for repair and was told it would be done when she returned from vacation a week and a half later; not only was it not finished, but she had to miss the next TWO lessons(which is money out of my pocket as well), and when I finally called to light a fire under them, they returned it to her minus her ligature, which she had to return to the shop to get back. This same student purchased a mouthpiece earlier this year and had a ligature pushed on her; she wasn’t looking for anything fancy, and returned the ligature later that week, but she didn’t appreciate the pressure. Granted, a repair on my own instrument was done fairly quickly(and I was called long after I could have come to get it that day), but my student’s experiences have kind of cancelled that out. :-( Sorry, but this isn’t the kind of service I had come to expect, nor what I can comfortably recommend for my own students. I truly wish I could give you a better review.

My youngest son needed some work done on his sax. I brought it straight here, knowing it would be done right. Not only does it look and play beautifully, it only took a few days to get it back. My son needed an instrument until his was fixed and they were happy to accommodate. They actually took out and tested several instruments before sending me home with the right one. It was much appreciated. As always, great service, fair prices and quick turnaround.
