Went there on Sunday March 13th. A sign on the door says that location has closed for good.

Update is that the restaurant is now closed. According to the MoCo Health Department, it was a voluntary closing and NOT due to «roach infestation» as has been rumored. In fact, the last inspection on 2÷17÷16 had no evidence of the little buggers.

Was here a few months ago and found a hair in food. Ok we understand it’s a buffet. Came back today and found egg shells in the eggs for eggs Benedict. We told the manager on duty and they gave us a free meal next time. To be honest I don’t think we will ever return to this place.

There isn’t a lot food varieties. But you pay what you get. The price is pretty fair. And I would argue that food here is healthier than some other Chinese buffet that I have been to. The place is not loud, and there are plenty of seating. If you want to enjoy a great meal, this is not the place. But if you just would like to have a healthy lunch or dinner as usual, this place is a fine choice.

Akon and Young Jeeeeeeeezaay. We were hustling in the streets before spending some of our hunnids on this buffet. What the dream team. Gh sike it’s only $ 12.50. It was all a dream, I used to read Word Up magazine, Salt’n’Pepa and Heavy D up in the limousine Can’t believe the bubble gum machine isn’t working. Dad gummit! But yeah, this place is cool if you don’t mind eating at Old Country Buffet gh. I love buffets man. It’s kind of like yoga. You take what you want, and you leave the rest behind like that one lame chick who you met up with to get San Francisco Soup Company but you’ve got to do all the work in the conversation because she just stares into your eyes, sort of like when you stare into the abyss and the abyss stares right back. **Go for the tacos and ice cream. White people love taco bars. The pico de gallo is stupid spicy for a franchise like Old Country. The ground beef is so moist. I’m loving the processed cheese, too. They were playing some sick jams, too. Although they didn’t play Akon, Young Scrappy, or Juicy J, the bandz still made her dance. I’m talking about Fleetwood Mac and Men at Work(«Who can it beeeeeee now?») Don’t get the raisins though. They’re some shit. Same goes for the cantaloupe, corn bread, fried chicken, mashed potatoes, and green beans(each of these items tasted like a black hole). They should get collard greens because, ya know, people would eat them. Get these things: salmon, ice cream, and tacos The salmon is good enough. It kind of reminds me of lunchtime at Panera, or Coldplay at the Super Bowl 50 Halftime Concert: Not exactly what you were hoping for, but fine for now. The ice cream ain’t as good as Jimmy Cone, but the Fruity Pebbles and Oreo toppings are just what I’m looking for. They offer a swirl! The tacos are GOAT! Look for the soft shells. By combining the hard and soft shells, you can make a gordita. Did you know that gordita translates to «little fat girl»? My taco bell toy dog shouts out«Viva Gordita.» «Viva little fat girl.» My friend started cutting the ham but they’re like NO. The patrons here are interesting. We’ve got GHS goons, cute families, Midwestern dads, fresh seniors, cute girls, fresh Asian dudes, and spicy mamis. This place is super wholesome. Reminds me of what America is all about: a lack of moderation.

The earlier reviews I wrote for this place in 2009 – 2010 were mostly based on my experience here at weekend breakfasts, but in recent years I’ve lived farther away than I did then, and I have in recent years only been here for holiday dinners and occasional lunches. So I don’t know what the current status of their breakfast menu is, and I’m principally addressing their holiday dinners such as I had yesterday, Thanksgiving. In the past, there were a couple of meats available hand-carved; yesterday they had turkey and ham as before, but also roast beef and what looked to be a pork roast — FOUR different choices. Better variety is always better. As I was trying to start off with traditional Thanksgiving foods, I had the turkey — and while the woman doing the carving was doling out rather small slices, she asked right off if I wanted more, so I had two slices. And after all, it IS a buffet and you can come back for more. But I would have preferred the slices to be bigger — one reason there are 4 stars and not 5 on this review. Completing my first trip to the buffet, I had stuffing(in their terminology, «cornbread dressing,» but to me «dressing» is something liquid that you put on a salad!) and cranberry sauce to complete a traditional Thanksgiving pâté, together with kernel corn. Of course, this was only my first trip to the buffet, and subsequently I had such less-traditional Thanksgiving food as «popcorn» shrimp and chicken pot pie. No problems with anything, all were tasty. The stuffing was excellent, attested to by my wife as well… for myself, it was the only thing I had more than once of! The only minor complaint I had besides the smallness of the slices of turkey was that, when I was ready for dessert, they were out of pumpkin pie — I had small pieces of coconut cream and pecan pie instead, both of which tasted just fine. I certainly cannot see the 1– and 2-star ratings some people have given this place. I found the food better than average. Of course, I can’t compare it to places like Golden Corral or red Robin, which some reviewers have said were far better; neither of those chains has a location anywhere near this area.(Golden Corral’s nearest, for example, is in Largo, which might as well be in California as far as ease of getting to is concerned.)

I don’t really have much to say so I’m just gonna keep it simple. Pros: 1) Family friendly 2) Not too loud 3) Staff is polite Cons 1) This place doesn’t have many food selections.

One of the nice things about eating at a buffet is youl shouldn’t leave hungry. That’s certainly the case at Old Country Buffet in Gaithersburg MD. The food is good, varied and they have«theme» meals(Mexican, Italian, fish, etc). My personal favorites are Fridays that has great pot roast, and Sundays(steak, and roast turkey). The breakfast buffets on the weekend are excellent and very inexpensive. The staff is attentive and polite, the prices reasonable, and if you’re a senior, the lunch on weekdays between 1:00 and 3:00PM for about $ 6 can’t be beat.

I took my mom there last night. With the BOGO coupon, the meal for the two of us came to $ 12.50 plus tip. The food is simple and nothing fancy. Considering the price, its the best value in town by far. Other positive aspects of OCB: price, ease of parking and no waiting time, I prefer this simple place over many of the other over-hyped and over-priced places reviewed in Unilocal. My favorites are the fried chicken and the hand carved ham with the fresh dinner rolls. BTW, Mom loves the place.

It’s a buffet, what can I say? You get a lot of variety of food for a flat rate, not a bad deal if your hungry. My favorite food from there is their fried chicken legs.

I have always enjoyed OCB. The fried chicken is very good and so it the taco bar! Don’t expect fancy from a place like this, but I think it’s worth every penny. I can eat a lot of food so I always get my money’s worth at a place like this. This is a good place to take a group or stop by on a Sunday after church! 5 stars because it’s a good value and I have never had a complaint about any of the food.

I haven’t been here in a decade, but much hasn’t changed. Maybe I remember this place better than it actually is. I don’t think I ever paid attention to certain things as a kid. Great good options, no lie there, but just lacking quality as the only people that eat here are usually larger than Snorlax(google it.) who probably need a DD on the way home because the food coma hit before they leave the door. But no, not just any food coma, you’ll be sleeping for a whole damn season. I also remember the days when this place used to have a huge line out the door because they were cheap, but not so anymore. Prob a decent priced buffet for average quality food. They have a huge salad isle which is great though, you’ll need a few plates of fiber to clean the first plate out of your system. I also think this place made me sick today, bumped down from 3 stars to 2 stars.

A bit pricey for a small buffet. Golden corral is cheaper and larger. That being said, I was very happy we came here. The Chicken pot pie was amazing, the fried chicken bit the spot, and the tres leches cake for dessert… mouth-gasm. Yummy. Fried chicken, Mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, a tiny taco bar, decent amount of small desserts with soft serve ice cream as well, Icees for a beverage, chocolate milk, a nice salad bar — its a buffet. We went at a time where it was uncrowded and quiet, so that added to my enjoyment of the place. You pay first, seat yourself, and your waitress comes and signs your receipt.

Let me just start by saying I work in a 2 star restaurant and I know how stressful it can be. I always over-tip and I am extremely patient because i know how chaotic things get. While I was eating a plate of fruit i noticed a hair inside of my pineapple. I completely lost my appetite so I stopped eating. It wasnt a big deal it happens. My boyfriend however felt the need to tell a MANAGER. The MANAGER apologized and offered to refund the price of my meal. As the four of us left, we all grabbed an ice cream cone. As i went to put sprinkles on my ice cream the MANAGER snatched the ice cream cone from my hand and said«I’m sorry but you can not have that you’re refunded.» … I was so embarrassed. I told him i will pay for the ice cream and he said«no thats fine you may leave. « That was the worst restaurant experience I have ever had in my life. What upset me most was the fact that we were never rude not even a bit. He could have easily told me I’m not allowed to have anything once refunded but instead he took it out of my hand!!! I didn’t have high expectations of the restaurant yet still Im amazed at the lack of professionalism. It was never about the money.

We all visit restaurants for many reasons: the food, ambience, or friends’ recommendations. But what about exceptional service? Today I witnessed precisely that. Now mind you, this is a buffet; servers clear used plates but you bring everything to your table. One of their attentive servers was taking orders and fetching plates for a disabled customer. It was a very caring gesture. If it’s true that good staff make the business then this is one establishment I can happily recommend!

The inside of the buffet looks really nice. The breakfast here is the best in my opinion and I enjoy seeing the guy making my omelet. My only problem would be the price for drinks. Other than that, the food here is delicious.

Absolutely disgusting. Food items were either empty or crusty on the top. Kids were using their bare hands to grab chicken and sneezing and coughing all into the food. The desert bar was mostly crumbs of old desserts. Nothing was being refilled or cleaned. Handles to serving utensils were slipped down into the foods. Place was a complete disaster inside. Filthy tables. No one was removing dirty plates but just letting them pile up everywhere. And I’m supposed to tip on top of all that? I only went on suggestion of a friend who was in the mood for a buffet. I could not even eat. NEVERAGAIN!

Dirty! Messy! Argh! This buffet turned my stomach upside down. I was forced to come here by my family and it really wasn’t a good idea. This place is a mess because there are so many disrespectful people here. Their Icee machine has icee over it because the kids were playing around with it and no manager or worker monitors their buffet area. The forks and knives were dirty and I had to clean it with water. Food was mediocre. Their hibachi/stir fry thing is a joke because it doesn’t even taste good. They really need a good manager to have a better control of the restaurant. Things I do like: Their waitresses are very nice. They take away plates really quick with a smile. They have food labels in front of each food so you know how many calories you are consuming. I’ll not go back again due to a lack of cleanliness.
