I’m quite peeved with My Guys Moving. I knew several people who had used them and who seemed to like them, so I just assumed I could trust them. I never even shopped around for another mover. In addition, when they asked if I wanted to buy additional insurance, I thought there was no need because of course their movers would be careful. Big mistake. I wish they had told me I ought to buy because there was a big chance things would be damaged. The day of the move I was happy with them because they didn’t scuff the walls in the new house, which was freshly painted. That’s what I was watching for. I even gave their guys a $ 150 tip. They didn’t thank me for the tip, so I thought hmmm, I guess they’re used to bigger tips. Then, that evening, my husband noticed that our bedroom chest and one bedroom endtable were scratched/dented. I was annoyed, but since I don’t like conflict, I didn’t report it. Then, later on when we were cleaning the old house, we discovered that the movers had ALSO broken a wood staircase baluster! Well now that was too much for me, and I contacted them. The guy who is managing the claim is pretty unresponsive. He also didn’t want to replace any furniture, but wanted us to get a furniture company to come and touch up the dents. Well, when I called the furniture company, they also said that they didn’t think they could touch it up to the point where the dents would not be noticeable. In addition, if they did touch up, then the total claim(including fixing the balaster) would fall under $ 500, which is the deductible for the standard insurance(since we didn’t buy additional insurance), so in that case, they would not even pay for the touchup! The claims guy at My Guys Moving has not responded to my last e-mail from 1 – 2 weeks ago, and he never answers the phone. In retrospect, I think the movers knew they had damaged property and felt GUILTY about me giving them the $ 150 tip, which is why they didn’t say thank you! All in all, I would never use My Guys Moving again and discourage anyone else from using them.

My Guys are as nice as they are efficient. they moved my office in less than 4 hours, and that included two stops to pick up stuff and one drop off. there was no damage to the furniture or the walls. they very kindly asked about where i wanted each piece of furniture as they unloaded the truck, and then very kindly rearranged my super heavy stuff when i couldn’t make up my mind… and they smiled the whole time.

Totally recommend this Two Guys operation. From start to finish I was completely satisfied. The lady that answered my call and took my reservation was super nice and knew all the answers. She then sent out an email with all the particulars. The day before the move a reminder message was left on my phone. The movers were right on time, quick, careful, efficient and extremely polite. Zero damage to walls or my stuff. They finished my smallish truck load with apartment steps in minimum time. I can see why Two Guys gets 5 star reviews.

*UPDATE: got a message from owners saying they changed their business name January 2013 and therefore it couldn’t be them. I updated my review to state when the move happened-July 2011. Their original name was Two Guys and a Truck. It was them. I really think of them as Two Jerks and a slow moving truck! I hired them to move my sofa and love seat, coffee table, dinning table with 6 chairs and my two queen size bedroom sets. They call asking if they could come early, when I said we were not ready they were late, brought in a third mover that turned out was not on payroll and was a minor to help with the move. They carelessly moved all furniture and damaged both sofa and love seat by forcing them through the hallway without wrapping the items, and damaged the coffee table by placing other items on top without any blanket in between. My master bedroom set was also damaged by scraping it against a wall. Damage to the rental unit were nearly $ 400 worth, fortunately, the renter fix on his own. Furthermore, they were very disrespectful of my wife and insulted her(even knowing they were from the same country as my wife) while at my apartment. They were very condescending of my wife who just gave birth to our child a mere 2 weeks earlier. A move from Reston to Chantilly they avoided the Dulles Toll road, went north to Route 28 and then once on Rt 28 went south to Chantilly at 30 mph while speed limit is 50 or 55 mph with no apparent justification other than to clock more time on the delivery –traffic was light, and good weather, there was no need to go that slow. The only issue, I am told is that there was a slow moving truck from a moving company… Called and demanded restitution for damages. They agreed to restitution(all very respectfully, but took over two weeks to come to terms) and damages amounted to $ 569. I was explained that because they had a $ 500 deductible on all claims I was entitled to only $ 69, and if I was to accept the $ 69 then I waived the right to write a review such as this and the like. … Guess why I am writing this review. They simply suck! Movers were careless, disrespectful and the staff at the office were short of being acceptable or good, yet still professional. Disrespect of your customer should never be tolerated, specially of moms with a newborn. Suggest you do your own moving and kick these jerks out of your house.

My wife called around to several places in the northern Montgomery County area and these guys were one of the cheapest quotes. But despite the price, they were one of the best movers I’ve ever dealt with. Jorge and Victor were professional, courteous, even a bit fun, and our stuff was handled with the utmost care and our walls and floors are in the same condition as when they started. They took about 7+ hours and we thought it would be much longer. I strongly recommend Two Guys and a Truck, and I especially recommend Victor and Jorge, who were just brilliant.
