Bekins Moving & Storage

I got a mailer about the the moving services that this company provides for professionals so I called. That was over month ago. After a series of emails back and forth between different people, I finally scheduled a visit with the local moving people in White Marsh, MD to get an estimate. They arrived — a man and a woman. The woman was friendly but the man was so dense and seems so dumbfounded to be dealing with a young professional moving a 1bdrm apartment worth of stuff. I reiterated what I needed to move about 5 times and he just seemed so perplexed and asked me the same questions over and over again. Two weeks later, I still haven’t got my estimate but thankfully I found another moving company that I plan to go with so watch out for that review. Based on the reviews that I read about Bekins and my own experience with their pre-​move customer service, I would exercise great caution with this moving company. This review is just my 2 cents since their poor customer service scared me away. But I will say that I have also used ABF UPak for 3 moves in the past with very good success. This time around I was looking for a less hands on moving experience.

Worst moving experience ever. Driver was surly, moving assistants had no experience and damaged items as they hauled them out of the house. Driver arrived with different contract from the binding contract we had signed, claiming we had to pay $ 500 above the initial contract because the moving coordinator had misquoted us. Company «moving coordinator» doesn’t follow through, is misleading and unhelpful. Storage facility unacceptable conditions, as our electronics were fried after a month in unmoderated temperature. Bekins had our shipment for an ENTIRE MONTH before they could coordinate a driver to bring it to us.
