I was going right next door to them at the T-​Mobile store and passed by there and noticed a sign saying «pupusas».I decided to give them a try and ordered bean & cheese, chicken & cheese and plain cheese pupusas and all were delicious!!! I also ordered their carne asada tacos and we’re pretty good too with the green sauce they give. The lady up front taking orders is what definitely sold me on the place because she was super sweet. Their horchata, tamarindo and marañon juices were to die for. I have returned twice because they are just that good!

I tried the pupusas — jalapeño & cheese and bean & cheese. The pupusas were fresh and hot. They were served with a vinegar slaw and a spicy salsa. I’ve never had a pupusa before so I tried all of the ingredients separately. After tasting each piece I decided to combined them. Each piece separately was good. But when I combined the pupusas, slaw, and salsa, it was heaven! It was a spicy, tangy, melt-​y mouthful of goodness.
I highly recommend you give them a try! Very affordable too! The pupusas were $ 2.00 each!

I’m quite skeptical when it comes to trying salvadorean food, especially pupusas… and in a shopping mall setting. Mi Cantarito Bistro NAILED it. The cheese pupusas are fresh, hot, and yummy. The lettuce stuff that comes on the side is seasoned to perfection. Great addition to the mall! Will def be back to try out other stuff on the menu.

Mi Cantarito is a Gaithersburg/​Montgomery Village neighborhood gem. Hands down, they have the best burritos and popusas in town with nothing but fresh ingredients made with their family recipe. Located in the same section with Red Robin at Lakeforest Mall, this place is a must try for anyone looking for a new, fun and inexpensive dining option.
