So I’ve gotten the fruit cake here before with a groupon, and that was delicious, so this time I came back to try one of their other special cakes. I actually have never ordered a specialized cake from a bakery before– usually I just get cakes from grocery stores. But this time my family requested a cake that was fruit flavored and not too heavy, so I went with this place.
I called them two hours before I was going to pick up the cake, asking whether they had any mango ones left, and luckily they did! They let me put a message on it and it was ready for pick up when I got there.
As for the actual presentation of the cake, I was pleasantly surprised at the nice chocolate decorations and how cute it looked! My grandpa was happy with this «fancy cake».
For the taste, the outside icing was a little too tart for our family’s taste, almost a lemon flavor with a tint of mango. The mousse cream inside, however, was glorious. Perfect blend of light and airy, sweet and mango flavored– I could eat tubs of this and spread it on anything. They should try to make the icing more like the mousse. The cake itself was a bit dry, didn’t think it was fluffy and moist enough to my liking… Almost a crumbly texture that got caught in my throat.
Next time I would probably not get this flavor again because of the sour taste of the outside icing, but I would try some of their other flavors. The fruit cake I had last time wasn’t that dry, so maybe this was just not as fresh? I would try another cake from them. The price was also the cheapest out of the good bakeries I have looked at– $ 18 for a 6 inch cake, $ 24 for a 7 inch, not bad at all. A great cake ordering experience, here at Classic! I worked exclusively with Areen who made sure that the ideas I had were properly executed for my son’s superhero first birthday cake. I showed him ideas I found on Pinterest and gave him my price point and he worked with me to make sure everything came out perfectly! The cake got so many compliments by the party guests and matched the theme of the party perfectly!

The lady helping us out was super friendly and every different pastry we tried was amazing I’m from LA and we have plenty of places for baklava. This place is just as good as the authentic ones made by family friends back home. Great job!

I picked this bakery blindly when looking for a birthday cake for my Dad. I wanted something nicer than a grocery bakery, and the website sounded good.
What a gem of a find. They were so helpful when I ordered over the phone, but when I arrived the day to pick it up I was so impressed. The shop is clean and bright, and smelled like a home kitchen with something yummy in the oven. The glass case was full of colorful, beautifully decorated cakes, cookies and pastries. I wanted one of everything!
Dad’s cake was so pretty, with gilded chocolate decorations and room for our ‘90^th birthday’ candles, just as I had asked. I felt the price was too low for such a beautiful cake.
Later, when we got to try it, the flavor and moistness was just as good. It was a home run. Many people asked where it came from and I enthusiastically shared!

Classic bakery is a really nice and clean shop. I believe it’s like family owned so I think that gives them more points in my book. I have had their fruit cake and it is delicious it’s not too sweet it’s light and fluffy good stuff. Their mini fruit tarts are spot on and their mango mousse is so good. The only one I’m really not a fan of is their raspberry cake I believe that’s what it is. It was just super dense to me. Their prices are reasonable and the customer service is great. I am not running to this place but if I am in the area I will keep them in mind

It’s always great finding a little mom n pop shop that tugs straight at your heart strings and you promise yourself you’ll return time and time again. After a ridiculously long day at work, we decided to pickup some groceries for dinner but dessert at the Whole Foods bakery just wasnt cutting it. Classic Bakery is a friend’s favorite so figured why not try it out, and I’m so glad we strolled in with just minutes to spare before they closed for the night. I came home with a box full of european style pastries. you know the kind. super moist. fruity.delicious.not overly sweet or heavy under insane amounts of whipped cream or butter cream. Classic doesnt just do pastries, but has an entire assortment of middle eastern desserts too and house made gelato, fresh baked bread and so much more! I can’t wait to go back and try out everything in the window. cuz why not. Life’s short, eat dessert first!

I mean what can I say this is hands down the best bakery in the DMV! There Persian treats are amazing and the best in the area. Their cakes are unbelievable by the way can’t wait for their pumpkin spice cake which they do in the fall. Their fresh breads are to die for.
Their platters and gift trays are done very nice and always a favorite to whomever I take them too. You need to check this place out the best treats, the best service. Bravo!

Service was quick and friendly! Instead of one cake, I decided to get various cake slices of different varieties. Coconut, carrot, mango, chocolate, strawberry, and crème were all good. It was excellent for those with diabetes because the cake was not overly sweet, so they treated themselves. I also purchased balloons and candles. I’ll definitely return.

I ordered a cake for my baby shower here and I was absolutely satisfied with the result. The cake was pretty and as I expected it to be and it was delicious. The thing I liked the best about it (besides it looked really cute!) was it’s been made with light cream and not those heavy frosting which nobody eats. But you need to mention that to them so they see if it is possible to make your desired style with light cream or not.

Love this bakery — the designs are awesome and the bakers are very creative — once in a while you’ll run into absurd customer service, other than that great place! Their chocolate raspberry flavour is delicious.

I always aways always get my cakes from here for any occasion. They make the cakes perfect from the taste to the presentation.
I got a heart shaped light strawberry cake for a welcome-​back-​cake. The nice man offered to tie the box with a bow.
I always have a great experience no matter how busy or crowded Im never disappointed or waiting too long they get me out fast and happy.
This was a very last second run in for a cake & I was hoping to settle for whatever cake was ready but I can always count on classic bakery, nothing tastes horrible :)

I have been going to classic bakery for several years now. I have always received excellent customer service! Always smiling and willing to go the extra mile to help their customers. I like their mango mousse cake. The fruit cake is the best! I also love their baklava! They also have coffee and subs. but I haven’t tried either yet.

Groupon users — remember to call 48 hours in advance to order your fruit cake. I’d seen the Groupon floating around for a while and finally decided to give it a shot after hearing a friend recommend this place. I was not disappointed. The fruit cake was delicious — exactly as pictured, not too heavy and not too sweet, but plenty of cream and fruit on top. When I picked it up in person, the workers even offered to write a message on top, which was perfect because I was bringing it for a special occasion.
I don’t know if I’d get it again because the location was a little out of the way for me, but there were a lot of other delicious treats inside that I’d definitely try if I have the chance.

I came to Classic Bakery this past weekend to see if I could get a custom cake that same day. I know, shame on me for procrastinating on ordering it, but Classic pulled through! Mind you, it was also Superbowl Sunday and they seemed to be pretty busy.
My little brother was turning 18 and he’s obsessed with cars, so I wanted to get him a cake that looked like a vanity license plate that he recently ordered for his car. I came in with the plates for reference and told one of the employees there exactly what I wanted. He politely told me that it was going to be a struggle trying to get the exact colors I wanted since they didn’t have much time, but that they would do their best. I ended up ordering a ¼ sheet yellow cake with tiramisu filling that would serve about 25 people. The total was $ 82, which seemed pretty reasonable for a custom cake like this.
I came back like 4 hours later to pick up the cake and I was extremely impressed! They did so much better than I could have imagined with what little time they were given. Needless to say, my brother was very surprised and loved his cake. And it tasted amazing as well! Next time I need a custom cake or just want to pick up some desserts I will be sure to go to Classic Bakery!

Got the deal off from groupon. The staff was nice and friendly. Offers lunch menu as well as bakeries.
The 7 inch fruit cake I got was decent. Not the best cake but decent fruit cake with strawberry cream filling. Would I buy again? Probably not, you can similar or better cake from whole foods.

So we bought a groupon deal to purchase the 7 inch fruit cake that «made them famous» or whatnot.
We are big fruit cake people and this was whatever! It was mushy and didn’t quite have a good texture taste to it. It was very bland and bleh.
Would I come back to? No not really. I’ll stick with Whole Foods.

We were greeted by two employees when we arrived. then ignored when I approached the counter.
Once I wanted to place an order, I was cut off and rudely told to pick a box. The first time I went, I never had to choose a box so I was really confused…
I told him I didn’t want to choose a box just two pieces. I turned around to leave and then he told me I could do a plate. I don’t know if he was trying to get me to buy more than I wanted or what was going on.
I probably won’t purposely go to this bakery unless I’m eating Phở. The bakery items aren’t super fantastic where it’s worth my 7 minute drive.

I’m very picky about how cakes/​icings taste, since I’m a baker, but this place blew me away! Everything I purchased was superb and the staff were all very friendly! I will stop back in when I’m in the area again. Yum!

Shouldn’t everyone who works in a bakery and are surrounded by sweet treats be happy and smile? Apparently not at Classic Bakery & Café! The four workers who were there didn’t seem happy at all to be there and just seemed to go through the motions of grabbing items for customers. Lighten up people!
Many of their baked goods are offered by the pound, which could get deadly. Most items are small, so you don’t feel guilty filling a box up with goodies. I tried their chocolate éclair, tiramisu, and an orange cake. Out of the three, I surprisingly liked the orange cake the best. I love eclairs, so I thought I’d like that one more. Both the tiramisu and orange cake were light and had good flavor to them. You could taste hints of orange and coffee. The éclair was okay. The dough was a little dry, but the custard filling was able to hide it somewhat.
