I try to support small, locally-owned businesses when I can, but what I cannot support is stupidity. I abhor businesses that make it difficult for me to spend my money… especially when I have other options. After receiving a bunch of coupons in the mail, I decided to check this place out. I wanted to get an ice cream cake for my boyfriend’s birthday so I decided to spend my money supporting a small business. Note that I could have easily gone to Carvel, Coldstone, or Baskin Robbins: all of which are closer to me, have virtually no wait, and would have had me on my way in 5 minutes or less, but I chose to go out of my way and«buy local» instead. The line for this place was insane, but gortunately, they had a drive through. We ordered the ice cream cake, but were told that we had to get out of the drive-through line, park, get out of our car, and wait in that long ass line just to ORDER the damn thing. HUH?!? Now, I would’ve had no problem if they told me I could pay for it at the drive-through and walk up to the window to pick it up when it’s ready(which is also stupid, since I’m sitting right there. The cake isn’t that big that you cant pass it to me through the window). But this chick told me I couldn’t even order it at the window. By this point, I’m both confused and extremely pissed off. When we get to the window, I ask the cashier why we can’t place ice cream cake orders at the window. She says«They take too long to make». (Ummmm… what? It’s not like you have to bake them or anything). I ask how long is «too long». She says, «Like 5 minutes, but we have other customers waiting in the meantime». I ask her why we can’t just pay here at the drive– through and either park and wait for someone to bring it to us, or park, wait, and pick it up at the walk-up window when it’s ready. She replied, «Sorry, that’s our policy». Well sweetheart, that«policy» just cost you business… Business 101: If your company«policy» is a.) inconvenient to your customers and b.) keeping you from making a profit, it might be worth reconsidering. Just a thought…

I’m going back. that’s what I have to say about bruster’s. a great local ice cream/frozen treats location. the people serving are incredibly friendly and seem to always have a smile on their faces. this was my 1st time @ bruster’s, my SO and i opted go here instead of a chain restaurant for frozen treats. we’re both proud of ourselves for this decision. it’s quite the family friendly place, with mini-treats for the little ones(one even comes with a dino on top!) and lots of options for the bigger ones. i chose the small waffle cone, which comes with 2 monster scoops of your choice of ice creams. one scoop was NY cheesecake and the other was salted caramel. perfect. i had to rush to lick it all before it melted all over my lap. both were quite tasty, and the caramel even had nice chunks in it. i was a happy boy. man. i mean man. but you do feel like a kid at this place.

This is a review of my experience in March. It was so good that I just thought of it now– a few months later, at the other side of the country(California). I’m not a huge fan of ice cream, but this was one of the BEST ice creams I’ve ever had. So soft, creamy, and flavorful aghghghgh(Homer drool). I had a small waffle cone(which is actually bigger than I expected). It had a scoop of coconut chip and rocky road. It even came with a hand protector around the bottom of the cone! The workers here were friendly and patient. I always take my time deciding what to get and they had no problem with that. They also gave me a coupon for my next visit. The taste and price were good enough to make me come back and try more of their unique flavors again in the same week. I told my brother about it and he, too, fell in love. Alas, we moved away to the West coast shortly after. I wonder if there’s a Brusters here in LA, I’m gonna have to go check!

This place has that So-Cal ice cream feel with only outside seating, drive thru and a boatload of flavors. They also have some creative specials with Dino cookies and gummy worms for the kid at heart. It’s a little sweet for my taste but I always take my sister here cause it shuts her up for a bit. Kids loved, parents approved…

True flavors. Soft ice cream. Not to sweet. Crispy handmade wafer cones. Mango and salted caramel was a weird but perfect combination for me. A place to try if you are in the area. Very clean. Friendly staff.

I came to the strip mall for the floor place. Saw the huge crowd in line plus 10+ cars waiting in drive thru so I went over to check it out. The wait wasn’t bad. Tons of selection, and they had one cup serving if you wanted to get a small portion. Death by chocolate was really good. Nice place to come relax and people watch after dinner.

I have to Unilocal and say that this is the best ice cream in MoCo!!! The favors and quality is always consistent any season and any year. I personally love to get the regular blast with Cookie Dough & Crunch. You get to choose your choice of candy in your blast. I also recommend trying the variety of flavors this location offers.

I seriously like Bruster’s!!! They have nice quality ice cream, delicious cones, and fantastic service! Although I haven’t used their drive-thru yet, it’s super convenient for when you’re not up to standing out in the cold to make your order. They have plenty of coupons available and occasionally offer fun promotions. Although I’ve often found a line there, it moves pretty swiftly and gives you the opportunity to consider your flavor choice. Bruster’s offers plenty of unique flavors. Nothing complex but certainly very delicious. My current favorites are Graham Central Station and Chocolate Peanut Butter Buckeye. It would be nice if they had more exotic flavors — like ube, corn, lychee, etc. However, the more exotic flavors may not be quite the right fit for the area’s local demographic. The ice cream itself is fairly high quality. It tastes far superior over your standard scoop from Baskin Robbins or Coldstone Creamery. However, this isn’t your highbrow organic, non-gmo, specially-sourced fancy schmancy scoops either. Their ice cream is creamy with little-to-no ice crystallization. It’s a softer type of «hard» ice cream so it would probably be best eaten during cooler days. By mid-summer, a scoop like this could potentially be a total mess. Maybe go with a cup instead of a cone by then. Best of all, you can choose up to 2 flavors for a small, which consists of TWO scoops. How awesome is that?! If you want something smaller, order a kids cone(or a senior cone if you’re 55 and older). Prices are fair, especially for the quality, but definitely keep an eye out for coupons in the mail. I usually receive them about once a month for $ 1 off a scoop. You can also sign up on their website for their Sweet Rewards E-Club to receive coupons and to find out about special events. They recently held a promotion called PJ Day, which offered a free small cone to anyone who came in their pajamas. Coincidentally, it snowed that same day! They also offer a free small cone if it’s snowing. That’s always well worth the trip if you don’t live too far. There’s plenty of parking in the area but very limited seating. There’s a few benches in front and some picnic tables along the side. Most people usually sit on the grassy area during the summer or in their car on colder days. Otherwise, you can always take your ice cream home and enjoy it from the comfort of your own cozy abode.

Do you want some ice cream with your topping? Had the waffle come with graham central and peanut butter buckeye. Surprisingly I liked the graham central better as it had large pieces of cracker and chocolate. Also tried the Dino sundae(the cookie was not soft) and Cookie Monster(cookie dough and Oreo cookie in blue vanilla ice cream) both were per stuffed with topping. No need to go Ben and Jerrys or Coldstone creamery anymore!

Story time! I had a craving for ice cream around 9pm on a Saturday night & since moving to King farm I have had my eye on Bruster’s for awhile now. Soooo, why not venture out in the rain/sleet/snow and get some ice cream! Obviously my boyfriend was down for the ride when I mentioned they had a drive thru so off we went in our pajamas. Halfway there, I questioned if we were going to be the only weirdos getting ice cream when it’s 40 degrees outside at 10pm. I was wrong. There were at least four cars lined up at the drive thru so I didn’t feel so weird. We ordered a waffle cone each and right before pulling up to the window I saw a sign that said it was pajama day — free waffle cones for those in their pajamas. WHAT??? It couldn’t have been more perfect. I swear it was destiny. Our ice cream was indeed free, and DELICIOUSAF. As we parked in the lot to enjoy our cones we noticed cars pulling up left and right, kids and adults all frolicking up to the order window in their pajamas. It was so odd but so hilarious that we had no idea. Ps. Graham central station & chocolate raspberry truffle for the win! Ice cream quality is great, lots of flavors to choose from and fairly cheap. We will return soon!

Despite the chilly weather, we decided to go to Bruster’s since we felt that it’s never too cold to have quality ice cream. My friend ordered a M&M Blast while I ordered a small(2 scoops) Banana Ice Cream in a cup. I felt that the ice cream was a bit on the sweet side with a bit after taste. However, I liked how it was solid, rich, and creamy.

This place is ridiculously good. Came to the shopping area several times during the fall and winter while getting phở and shopping for furniture, and I noticed this place. I saw people getting ice cream here in the dead of winter with snow all over the place. I was hesitant to try it because I knew if I let my wife try it it should we would keep making me go get her ice cream while she stayed in the apartment. Guess what? I was right. So this ice cream is made fresh daily. They have so many different favors some of them are too sweat for my tastes but most are incredibly good. Summer nights at this place are ridiculous. It is packed until closing time. There are so many families, couples, and friends that just gather to this location, eat and chill. And this was every night. I pray for these people that they don’t develop diabetes and heart disease. But you know it may be worth it. I don’t know how all these high schoolers that work here are not super fat from hanging around all this stuff. I guess they are too busy serving to actually eat it themselves. Anyways definitely a must taste place.

Great price for the amount of ice cream you get! I’ve driven by Brusters in the past, but finally decided to stop by on a hot summer day(thanks in part to coupons that they always mail to my house). The coupon was a BOGO regular waffle cone, so the boyfriend and I ordered one each. A regular waffle cone fits three scoops. And these scoops are GIANT! You can also order different flavor scoops, so I ordered the Graham Canyon(one of their summer specials) and a vanilla raspberry swirl with chocolate chips. SOGOOD. But also, so much ice cream! I think I’d opt for a smaller size next time. I like how they have different flavors often; this gives me a good reason to check it out regularly, haha! Also, what I thought was pretty funny, was that they had a poster on the side of the building that was advertising one scoop cones to seniors only. What if *I* just want a single scoop? Does that make me a senior citizen? Does that imply that the older you get, the less ice cream you’ll want? If so, then I hope I never grow old!

They have a pretty decent roadside ice cream stand. Prices are ok and the portions are fairly generous. The ice cream is nothing to write home about but it is certainly well above acceptable. They do tend to get backed up when they get a bunch of orders leading to some wait time.

Best place for ice-cream in Gaithersburg! On hot days there’s always a crazy line, but if you go through the drive-through it’s way faster! There isn’t much seating so I always grab a icecream and sit in my car. Brusters also frequently sends out coupons in the mail or you can sign up for the online for their e-club. Brusters makes all of their ice-cream daily in-house! My favorite flavor is the Nutty Coconut. Last time I came, I wasn’t a big fan of the birthday cake flavor — there was too much of the blue icing in it and it was too sweet. Bring the kids and pets — Brusters offers free kiddie cones to kids under 40 inches and free doggy sundaes!

I’m going to preface this by saying I’m not a fan of ice cream. It’s one of my least favorite desserts. About the only time in my life I’ve found ice cream to be a necessity is on top of my mom’s fresh blueberry cobbler, right out of the oven. And then, it was french vanilla only. But, between the oppressive humidity, heat, and insistence from my boss that Bruster’s is THE place to go for ice cream, I finally gave in. I mean, I’ve only lived across the road from the place for a year, staring at it every time I turn onto 355. To force myself to feel a little less guilty about this obvious breach of my otherwise fairly healthy diet, I strolled over, and was immediately faced with the line. If you’ve been to Bruster’s, you know what I’m talking about. The line does look intimidating, but it moves fairly quickly, and it’s sort of a blessing, because there are a lot of flavors to choose from. So take your time, and make the right choice(or at least narrow it down to a few you’d like to taste) We were greeted by a chipper young girl and without anything about this place, got two small cones; one Death By Chocolate and one Caramel Sea Salt. Both were fairly soft ice creams, more frozen custard like, actually. There’s definitely a good amount of cream(i.e. fat). The Caramel one was a little on the salty side(though, for having salt in the name, I expected it), and left me a bit parched but it was pretty tasty. Could use just a bit better balance. The chocolate one, however, was extraordinary. The waffle cones were fresh, crunchy and delicious. The small size was too large for me to finish on my own. That would be something to keep in mind if you are not big on ice cream(kid’s sizes are available, and that will be my next order). But for someone who doesn’t dream of ice cream, I find myself wanting to go back very soon.

I have tried so many ice-creams but I definitely tasted heaven in the Busters Coconut chip ice-cream. After long day of walking around at cherry blossom festival, my friend who lives in the area took me to Busters for treat. They make their own ice-cream fresh daily and that defiantly reflects in the intense real flavors in the ice-cream. The server was really friendly and give you as many tastings as you like to figure out personal favorite flavors. the price is reasonable and scoops sizes are definitely big. They even have drive-in if you are on the road and need to take a quick stop for ice-cream.
