Quality Inn University

A pleasant surprise for the price. The room was very clean and didn’t smell like most hotel rooms. Breakfast was very good. I had to extend my stay and the staff was beyond accommodating. They even juggled reservations so I wouldn’t have to change rooms.

In terms of offerings, Quality Inn is a step above the super cheap, as in the too cheap ones where you don’t want to take your shoes off inside the room. My friend and I managed to stay a Friday and Saturday night sometime around spring break for $ 175 after tax. Our previous hotel was a bit more expensive than when we were there over the summer, so this was the second choice.
Our room was clean and recently painted (at least there was no wear visible), and the bedding was nice with approximately 5 mushy pillows per bed. Let me say this… mushy pillows are best pillows. The room came equipped with a decently-​sized fridge, a microwave, and a coffee pot. This was a nice change since our previous hotel choice didn’t have a fridge… And we found that out after returning with deli meats/​cheese. But I digress. The bathroom could have done with a matching facelift. It was obvious where an old glass panel had been removed from the tub, there were some stains, and the overhead light took a while to get bright enough to be in there without leaving the door open.
I was happy that housekeeping was pretty thorough, because I’ve had bad luck at too many hotels in this regard. We came back to perfectly made beds, clean towels, and restocked coffee supplies. The man who checked us in on the late-​night shift was really funny and nice, so it was a pleasant experience getting everything sorted out. The woman who checked me out at the end had pretty much no personality though. Also, they do the typical breakfast options (plus a wafflemaker, which may or may not have been one of the reasons I picked this hotel…), but there’s this odd sign that you can’t remove any of the food from the closed dining area. I can understand wanting to keep things tidy, but it was a little… Passive aggressive? My roommate was feeling a little under the weather and didn’t want to wander down, so I was planning on just bringing something back for her. Only after I poured the second round of waffle batter into a cup did I notice the sign. So, I awkwardly smuggled a waffle in a paper napkin (and a paper cup of syrup) by the front desk in fear of being caught by the breakfast police.
So, would I stay here again? Yeah, if it’s still a good deal in comparison. There weren’t too many issues with our stay, not even noisy neighbors.

This turned out to be a great choice. Front desk associate was very pleasant to work with. Hotel offers rates for visitors who are in town for hospital reasons (may need verification). Beds are comfy, I would love to take home one of the blankets! Breakfast is good too-​eggs, sausage, waffles, bagels and toast, cereal… this was very much worth it!

Checking in took a while but besides that, nothing much to complain about. Great price, good room with AC and a hot shower. Simple as it gets

Stayed one night, but was up all morning because of very loud neighbors. The beds are not comfortable, like you are sleeping on a wooden board. The bathroom door lock did not work, my mother got stuck in there, dad had to use his tools that he has on him to try to open the bathroom door lock for her. The sheets were not that clean. The front door did not open well. The smell in the room was awful, like some one poured bleach all over. The complementary breakfast was awful-​couple of bagels and and cereal. All in all terrible stay. Do not recommend.
