Huge venue with plenty of tables and not just your regular bar tables these are 7 ½ft tables that are very well taken of. The tables banks are very much alive and Very well ventilated. Not to smokey when I was there so extra star. In the back they have a full bar along with darts and even a beer pong or flip cup table. Just ask them and they’ll set you up. Just don’t be a jerk and clean after yourself. Food was good I just had a cheese pizza to absorb the booze of the night but who doesn’t love pizza? Overall great venue with great tables, music, food, darts, and more.

The atmosphere is nice, the pool tables are nice and well cared for. The drinks however, are extremely overpriced and not very well made. Hell a bottled Bud Light cost me almost $ 4. The bartenders are typically rude, and prefer not to pay attention to the female customers.(My boyfriend and friends and I actually played a game and kept score of how much the bartenders ignored the females, it was actually pretty ridiculous…) Although I have had one decent bartender in my handful of visits here. All in all, there are just better options and more fun places in the same area. Unless you’re just as stuck up and stuffy as the bartenders, I recommend going elsewhere for overpriced drinks.

Hmmm. I am the 1st to slump up in a dive– Rolling Rock in hand, but NO. Insert vinyl screech. The«gentlemen» patrons are a delightful 55+ who all seem to be in a perpetual state of last trimester beer baby pregnancy. I was forced to avert my eyes due to the fact that someone had told these poor chaps that Walmart had discontinued the sales of belts for their trousers… Leaving their ill fitting pants and WORSE exposed! Ah, speaking of knickers… if you are searching for the PM manager… he is busy chasing them and playing pool. x

I don’t usually write reviews but after reading some of the other ones, I feel I have too. I have lived in Gainesville for over a year now and haven’t found any other pool halls in town with as nice of tables, cleanliness, and all around welcomed feeling. They offer so many things to do in one place that you can spend all day and night, then forget they close. Always a drink special or beer special going on and the bartenders are a sight for sore eyes and awesome!

My son and I stopped in on a Saturday night to shoot some pool. We had a couple beers and payed about four games. I think the tab was around $ 35. We had a fine time.

This place is huge, clean, and has good prices. I’m not a serious pool player, but I have a few friends that play competitively so I know a fair amount about it. The tables and all equipment here are in very good condition. The building is laid out very simply but it’s laid out well and never feels crowded even when every table is being used. The bar area and arcade area are very nice too. I haven’t really seen anyone playing the games back there but there’s actually a good selection of «action» games like air hockey, basketball, darts, and even a few beer pong tables. I was pretty confused by that as they seem to fit much better in a dive like Gator City, but whatever. They also have Hold ‘Em tournaments in the bar area(not sure how frequently) and it looks like a healthy enough game. Beer selection is decent for a pool hall. You aren’t coming here for micros so it gets the job done. And finally, I’ll comment on the smoking situation since most others have. I don’t smoke and I don’t really want to smell it when I’m out, but I know to prepare myself appropriately when going to a pool hall. If you’ve ever been to Dugout, you know what I mean. Main St doesn’t have that problem at all. Between the height of the ceilings and the ventilation system, I could barely even smell the cigarettes from a couple guys in our group. That was a big plus in my book.

This place does not deserve 1 star. Its a decent pool place geared towards serious players. Yes they allow you to smoke, this might be a pro for some people. Smoking has nothing to do with your intelligence, any more than drinking does.

Main St has reasonable prices and an arcade in the back. They have free student pool, too until 8 on weekdays(and possibly other days)? It does smell smoky, but it’s geared more towards more serious players despite seemingly strange student specials. The tables are very good, it’s not crowded and I hope it stays that way as long as they stay in business. They also have somewhat frequent tournaments and sell equipment at what they call«internet prices’ for those of you who actually play pool.

The tables are nice. The service is good. That’s where it ends for me. There is smoking. SERIOUSLY? I didn’t think anyone smoked anymore, anyone with an IQ bigger than my shoe size. Apparently, they all like to hang out HERE. Not that I’ve ever been there when it has been packed busy, but the place reeks(and my clothes had to be burned afterwards). Not a good business move if they want to have any customers like me and my friends return.
