So disappointing, this address has a vacant shop. Apparently a victim of high rents which can be death to a niche business, too bad!

This location has since moved just down the street into a quaint and historic old home. The master mind behind it all is female-entrepreneur Barbara Drobnick. Have a certain scent in mind? She’ll mix it for you right there. Better yet, if your favorite perfume has been discontinued, she can mix it especially for you by foraging through the scent blend databases she has access to. Want a margarita scented bath fizzy? She has it. She made it herself. Looking for extra special, not-your-run-of-the-mill soy candle? She can custom make that for you too — or sniff away at the shelves to pick your favorite. Craving chocolate but not the calories? Try a chocolate fizzy drop, shaped and foil wrapped just like a giant kiss. Or the oatmeal bath cookies packaged in a stack and looking like they just came out of the oven. This is the perfect place to go for wedding and shower gifts, birthdays too! My favorite product? Her all natural insect repellent. Contrary to popular conceptions of the mosquito foiling stuff, this actually smells quite lovely. It reminds me of the lemon Lipton Brisk Iced Tea you used to be able to purchase in cans. I actually use this on my hairless dogs as well with no adverse effect. Best of all? it REALLY works. Contact Barb at and be sure to say hi to Taco — her chihuahua :) She also is a regular twitterer — follow her to find out shop news and other happenings in Gahanna @HoneyGrove or Can’t make it in? I am someone who loves candles and bath and body products — well, more like I enjoy things that smell pretty and most of those things do. So checking out a place like Honey Grove Botanicals would be natural for me. Even more worthwhile is when they’re a homegrown business and the fact that Honey Grove strives to be green is icing on the cake. There’s more to it than just being candles or lotions or soaps. It’s got to smell decent and it’s got to feel nice. I’ve smelt soy candles that didn’t really smell nice at all. However, I found these candles and products to be pleasant to the olfactory and humor senses. The names were creative, like«Jamaica Me Crazy» — which was inspired by a trip the owner took to Jamaica and how crazy she found the driving to be. Like other good candle, bath and body stores they have the option to make your own scents. Honey Grove is all about the well being of their customers, right down to the free samples of chocolate covered cranberries. Oh, and don’t miss their sales! I got a jar candle for under $ 5 and then there was an added 20% off because that was what everything in the store was on sale for!

I am so impressed with this off the beaten path store. The store window holds a giant clawed bath tub and you will want to climb in it and try your new items in seconds after you have purchased them. The store is small, but full of goodness. Soy candles take up an entire wall and are have variety in scents like the rainbow is to colors.(Take that SAT’s!) The cost of a soy candle is cheap at only ten dollars. A candle snob I am happy to say they out smelled my $ 35 deluxe candle from White Barn. I smell bargain. Speaking of bargains, check out the sugar scrubs at only ten bucks a pop. Ladies, I know you know that you can’t find a good sugar scrub for less than twenty in this Bath and Body town. Plus, the scrub is sold in cubes so no messy oils or portion distortion in your bath. The soaps are handmade and boy approved. I bought my boyfriend the Dead Sea soap scrub and he was happily tricked into exfoliating. I am most excited about the tea bag bath concept. You can pick your own natural scents and put them in a satchel for the bath. This will eliminate forever the picking of bath crystals off your skin after they’ve been embedded in from soaking. Honey Grove is all about the make your own concept. You can make your own candle, soap, anything! The store owner will also research scents that have been discontinued(Bath and Body again) and re-create them for you. This to me is a service worth its weight in gold. I am so excited about Honey Grove and you will be too. Buy a candle, soap or lotion and bask in the scent of content.

This small shop exceeded my expectations for a suburban body and bath shop. They make all their own soap and offer a wide variety of scents — everything from basil to lavender. In the corner of the store there is a station where you can fill your own Honey Grove bottle with bath salt or liquid soap. It’s like sand art for the grown up… only it smells good. They stock soy candles, relaxation CDs, gift baskets and all the things you need to spoil yourself in the bath. They even have items to pamper the baby. If you know someone who really likes fragrant gifts, this is the place to go.
