LOVELOVELOVETHISWINERY! Mr. And Mrs. Rue are just the sweetest and let’s not forget there lovely doggie Wilson. They are just so delightful and welcoming, like if you are local and a friend to them. They have a great selection of wine that is out of this world; perfect for every occasion. One of their most try items is the Chocolate Zinfandel Fudge… YES! that is right… Chocolate Fudge made with Wine! Which goes amazing with their dessert wine. Another most try/buy item is their Zinfandel Chocolate Cups… these are not like your average Reese’s cups. These chocolate cups have a delightful zinfandel mousse in the center with a perfect blend of chocolate on the outside… not too sweet and just right. Trust me, I hate overly sweet anything and these are just sinful or should I say ZINFUL! Lol I regret not buying more then one pack of this little suckers… I’ve been dreaming about this babies since I left the winery. I all bought a small bottle of their wine lotion which just small so good. Good quality product that last all day and smells SOGOOD! Mr. & Mrs. Rue are just a lovely couple that love what they do. Go Visit them and check out there wine selection you won’t regret it. May &EZ

Absolutely amazing! This lovely family run winery is a full wine tasting experience and blows the nearby Kendall-Jackson winery out of the water. Mr. and Mrs. Rue and their two friendly little dogs were very welcoming. As soon as we opened the car door we were greeted by wagging tails closely followed by Mrs. Rue welcoming us to her home with open arms. Mr. Rue drove up in a truck, introduced himself, shook everyone’s hand, and showed us around a little. We were introduced to their granddaughter and shown family photos while we were waiting for the rest of our party. The wine was wonderful and Mrs. Rue explained each wine and gave us individual histories of not just the type of wine, but also the difference between the years we were tasting. I walked away feeling very educated about wine. Definitely a top notch experience for first time wine tasters. The zin flavored fudge is to die for!

Great zinfandels. Come for the happy hour special and barrel tasting. Hundred and 15-year-old vines.

Beautiful winery, delicious wines! Zin is their thing, and they do it so well! I’m not a big fan of zinfandel but after having their 2011 and 2012, I became a member of their wine club. Their membership programme is really flexible and far better than any other I’ve seen in CA wine country. The owner Bob and his wife Carlene and their daughter are really friendly, patient, and clearly passionate about their land, vines, and wines. We really enjoyed the family feel to the place, and the outstanding zins! Definitely add this place to your wine country list of must-visits!

What a great find! Really enjoyed the wine here. We stopped by after visiting the Charles Schulz museum with our little one and decided to sneak in a winery or two before heading back to Marin. The owners Robert and Carlene were so inviting at the winery and we even got to do some barrel tasting which was a nice surprise. Planning on returning soon and playing some bocce on the court outside the tasting room with a big glass of that delicious ’11 Zinfandel.

This is a fabulous locals spot. This is a family run winery and the owners, husband and wife, are incredibly friendly and welcoming. The staff members are all very helpful and knowledgable. If they have the time, they always offer you a tour of the property. They have great drinkable and affordable wines. You can also purchase a bottle, go outside, have a picnic, and play a little bocce ball. And if that’s not enough, they also have a fantastic monthly happy hour with food, wine, and sometimes even music. At their last event, they even had an oyster station. I love visiting this winery because it is authentic and feels like home.

This place is amazing!!! Mr. and Mrs. Rue are a delightful couple. They are so full of information and a blast to drink wine with. I can’t wait to visit again. An unpretentious and vigorously old school winery, they have a great sense of loyalty to an art worth drinking. Please don’t miss this place while visiting the area.

Very nice setting and winemakers. Very friendly people. I thought the Sauvignon Blancs were a little sweet for my pallet but I did like their Zinfandel.

Great winery — very good Sauvignon Blanc and rose. Friendly service and the owners will greet you in the tasting room — and serve! It’s great to have the personal service and great wine.

One of my very favorite wineries. Winemaker and owners Bob and Carlene are fantastic and offer a fantastic selection. My fav is the 2004, 2009, 2011 Reserve Old Vine Zinfandel! Where can you go in Sonoma or Napa counties and meet and be served by the winemaker? Not many establishments left! Lovely Bocce court, great tour and the best offering of what Sonoma County wineries used to be.

This is a great family run winery, it’s old school where the Robert and his wife run the tasting room. Excellent wines, but you like old Vine Zin that won’t clean out your wallet, then you should visit this winery.

Carlene is so much fun. Her and Bob make your tasting feel like a fun afternoon with friends. Of course bringing people with you is always a good plan. The wine is very good. They even have a new Bocce court so you can have fun and spend a good amount of time. Lots of specials from time to time. Want to get lost in the vineyard, you can go on a self guided vineyard tour. Wilson their little winery dog. He likes to great you as you enter. Open on the weekends and I say a place not to be missed.

If you are a lover of Zin, not just like wine, but LOVE Zin, you will love Robert Rue. Hard to catch them when they are open since they are only open Friday to Sunday. When I was here it was during the Wine Road and was able to do a library tasting. I believe we were able to go 5 years back and taste the difference between years and how the wine mellows. Staff is friendly. Strongly recommend you check this place out if you are into Zinfandel.

I’d like to thank Unilocal because it’s the only reason I found this place. This place is the true Mom and Pop winery. They do 2 wines and they do them spectacular. Their 2007 Zin is out of this world. Drink as much now as you can because they have very little production. They also just introduced a Sauvignon Blanc, it’s a 2009. My wife drinks a lot of whites, I joke that Pinot Noir is my white. But I was blown away and was real happy to bring the bottle home. We went to over 15 different wineries on this trip and over 15 from our trip in January and this was my favorite White Wine that we tasted. Our $ 5 tasting fee was waived. And they poured me plenty extra 2007 Zin and 2009 Sauv Blanc because I «forgot» how they tasted. Great place.

I highly recommend this winery! Carlene and Robert, the owners and host of the winery are unbelievably friendly, honest and passionate about their business. If you’re interested in tasting great wines, seeing the winery that produced it and personally talking to the people who made it happen, this is the place to go to. The tasting is only 5 $ and if you buy anything, Robert and Carlene will most likely wave the 5 $ fee.

Bob & Carlene are very hospitable. The specialize in Zinfandel from the Russian River Valley on St. George rootstock. Their wines are plump and full of fruit. There tasting room is basically their production facility. If you want a small family feel to wine country, I would suggest a visit.
