The chicken is not good it taste so weird and they use a lot of grease in their food, really bad quality.

I’ll patch this review up with more details later but I’ll share this observation I made today: The old man there didn’t wash his hands after moving dirty trays and a TRASHCAN. If you have a weak immune system you should be really careful.

There are better places to eat in the area. When this was a Mexican/Potato place I heard it was excellent but Chicago Harv’s is on the greasy side, not great meat in the bowls, not very clean or fast. There are people who enjoy the hot dogs here but again I can get a hot dog anywhere. Save your money and go to Flame Broiler.

My 2 favorite things to eat here are the fries and terriyaki chicken bowls. The fries are just skinny fries that are suuper crispy. I tried the chili cheese fries before but wasn’t a fan. The fries ended up getting soggy and the chili wasn’t that great. When i get fries, I usually end up getting the cheeseburger combo or the fried chicken sandwich combo. The terriyaki chicken bowl is suuper yummy here and pretty cheap too. It’s a bit smaller than flame broiler’s regular size but at half the price.(And i’m only talking about the small terriyaki chicken bowl.) The large one is humungous(prepare yourself for a food coma after finishing a large). I love how they grill their chicken so it has that charbroiled taste and the veggies they incorporate into the dish. The place is run by a Korean couple and a young korean guy. The couple aren’t that great at English but if you’re just ordering things from the menu you should be fine.

I don’t care what anyone else says, the chicken teriyaki bowl is amazing, and cheap! Only down side to this place it that it takes quite a long time to get your food. other than that, i will be a regular at this joint!

This place deserves 2 stars because of its service. I waited for my order to be called and I even had the receipt and someone else grabbed my food. I complained to the cashier and he didn’t understand. Even though the food is good, it takes way too LONG for it to be ready. I was 20 min late to class because I was waiting such a long time.

About two weeks ago my boyfriend and I ate here. I noticed the guy preparing the food wasn’t using gloves. My boyfriend ordered the Teriyaki Special and within a few hours he was puking. He got food poisoning from this place… you’ve been warned. This place is dirty, they are slow at preparing your food and you’ll get sick.

Service sucks and food is sub par. Being the only place close enough for an hour lunch break, I might go more often if I weren’t yelled at every time I wanted food… Shoulda went to subway Also, 6 dollars for reheated frozen food

The owners speak little English every time u call they say they are so busy they can’t do certain things… Shouldn’t they be glad they our busy? They charge u for sauce, I called to tell the guy u put sauce and the veggies in my bag to go with NOLID! What kind of business are u running. It looks like a sweat shop in there and is extremely ghetto. Lost ALL orders from myself and my Group that go there every week.

I went here after work today for the first time hoping to have an awesome teriyaki bowl. I didn’t realize I was stepping into the ass crack of Fullerton. Every single table was covered in food and trash. I asked for a cup of water and the cup I was given was covered in dirt. I asked for a different cup and it was just as dirty. On top of that the water comes out yellow. My teriyaki bowl was a mushy pile of crap with no flavor. Oh and when she handed me napkins, they were covered in food(looked used already) so she tried to hide it by folding them in half before giving it to me. This place sucks.

Sadly; they serve teriyaki and tofu bowls there as well. Don’t expect the find a big, fat, sweaty Italian guy with a stained apron serving up any dogs here! Nope! It appears to be an Asian couple wanted to keep the name but change the restaurant’s menu to Asian. Didn’t even try the food because of that alone. Went to McDonald’s down the street. What a shame!

I came here looking for the Papas & Burritos which is still on Unilocal, but they’ve closed and it’s this place(The old logo is cheaply painted over with no base coat and you can still see it through the yellow paint). I arrived on a Saturday a little before 3:00pm. As I expected at this time, it was basically empty with 1 person finishing a meal in the corner. Even though I was craving a burrito, I settled for their special chicken teriyaki bowl. For the price, it’s pretty good. A little smaller than a Flame Broiler bowl, but for only $ 3.25 after tax, a much better deal in terms of food/$. Unfortunately, that’s about all the positives of this place. The teriyaki bowl is slightly below average. The chicken, which was a good amount for the price was cooked well, but it had no flavor. The vegetables are overcooked and soggy. The rice is cooked with a little too much water, resulting in a slightly more mushy rice which probably made the texture of the soggy vegetables even worse. When Costco is about a mile away, $ 3, can get you much better food.(A hot dog, drink and pizza slice at Costco is $ 3.75 after tax). Additionally, the service here is atrocious. I don’t expect the best service from Mom & Pop shops, but it was empty enough that it shouldn’t take 15 minutes for me to get a small teriyaki bowl. Approximately 2 minutes after I ordered, a group of 2 or 3 families walked in with a large order. As I was sitting waiting for my food, I watched 2 chicken teriyaki bowls be served to this group while I was waiting for mine. I found it very strange they were able to serve 3 cheeseburgers, 4 batches of fries and 2 chicken teriyaki bowls to this family before I was able to get my teriyaki bowl. Not to mention, in the middle of still getting the other families’ order completed. Why they chose this order of serving the food? I have no idea. Oh, he also messed up the orders and started chastising the families for not having the receipts showing what they ordered. Overall, this place is a cheap place that preys on cheap college students who are too lazy to walk into downtown Fullerton. With the plentiful food a few blocks away, there’s no other reason to eat here. When it takes 15 minutes to get my food on an empty Saturday afternoon, I can’t imagine how confused the owner gets and how long the food must take on a day when there’s classes. Random fact: They cook their hotdogs by deep frying them in the french fry oil. So, if your french fries taste like hotdog or your hotdog is very greasy, that’s why.

Chicago Harv’s is a local institution. It vanished for a while, was replaced by Papas & Burritos, and now it’s back. Welcome back Chicago Harv’s!The restaurant is run by a hardworking mother and sun who are both really friendly and nice. The sandwiches are massive, the portions of fries are huge, usually enough for two people. The restaurant itself is no frills, but who cares, the food is cheap. I had a tuna melt yesterday, and I couldn’t finish it, it was that big. Eat outside or to go, because if you dine inside, your clothes will smell like grease and fries for the rest of the day. Glad to have you back!

Food is really good. Trying Philly cheese for the first time and it’s super yummy! The guy and lady who work there are always super sweet. Thank god they brought Harvs back! Papas and Burritos was way over priced and not even good!

It’s still open as of June 2014. There was a banner for a Mexican food place, so I thought Chicago Harv’s was closed. I wanted to try the Mexican restaurant, but was surprised to see Chicago Harv’s was open, and still there. I wanted to like this place, but sadly the Chicago Dog, didn’t cut the mustard. It had a grilled(over toasted) sesame bun — not poppy; and was missing the pickle spears, sport peppers, neon radioactive relish, and celery salt. though most places don’t have celery salt. The beef wiener was grilled, and not steamed, so it lacked the familiar snap that a good Chicago dog has. It just seemed like an over cooked hot dog. For $ 4.63 I could have went to Costco and had three hot dogs and three sodas. I wanted an Italian beef sandwich, but the immigrant woman didn’t know what that was. The only other time I visited, there was a poster for an Italian beef.

Been coming here since 2000. Been dying for a spicy beef bowl, but I think they changed the recipe? Anyone know? Def different. Good, but not worth driving out of my way for anymore. I’m giving it one more chance before my heart is broken!

I moved to Fullerton from Chicago about 2 years ago. I have always avoided places that claim to be Chicago style, Nothing ever compares. The other day I was feeling brave and finally came into Chicago harv’s. Best idea that I have had in a while. If you love food, and you love hot dogs, this is the place to come. The Chicago Dog has to much flavor and is JUST like the one from back home, you cannot beat that. The chili cheese dog was PERFECT, which is hard for me to say. By far this place is the best place in Fullerton for hot dogs, Cannot wait to come again. Staff is really friendly, which is also a plus. There is NO reason for you to not come here at least once.

Located in front of Fullerton College they have pretty decent deals. Most of the combos they have are less than $ 6 but they are DEFINITELY cheaper than Fullerton College cafeteria hahaha I’ve never had this place until today afternoon. I walked in and it was crowded! Outside and inside there were no seats but luckily one table opened up as we were walking in. The place is very small, but they do have some good amount of soft drink selections. Their menu is very diverse, hot dogs, burgers teriyaki bowls and salad and melts etc. I got the Combo E which was the grilled chicken burger? with french fries and a soft drink for $ 5.49 and my friend got the combo A which was the cheese burger combo with fries and a drink. All I have to say is … Thank goodness they are located in front of a college where it is INFESTED with broke college students striving to live off of $ 5 a day! haha(I totally kid, half way) It is surely worth the $ 6 bucks you are spending though. The portions were filling and it filled me up until late afternoon! The service is friendly they have a good amount of lively staff and I think many people are regulars. They try to make little jokes with you here and there and doesn’t forget to thank you for coming. I want to give this place a better review but have to face it, it’s for the sake of the broke college students that are drowning in college loans and need a filling meal to make it through their class. I mean it’s a good option, if you get sick of eating subway just walk over and try something new! hahaha :) until I try something else this place gets 3 stars!

I hate to give small mom and pop shops a low rating. But here I was really expecting better. The place is a nice little dive and I walked in here for lunch cause I was craving a chi town style dog. Ordered the combo that was a dog, fries and a drink and it was under 5 bucks so not a bad price at all. But what came out was a dog that was so-so and fries that were so undercooked i felt like I was eating a raw potato. To make the fries edible I had to whip together a little ketchup and siracha mix which saved the meal. Good looking out on having siracha. And the dog didn’t have that neon green relish??? Isn’t that part of a Chicago dog? Maybe they were out… but that lost them some points for sure Over all I wanted to fall in love with this place but left walking out of there(on a sticky floor no less) kind of disappointed. I may come back to try the chicken sandwich or maybe the Italian beef… so if I do I can rewrite and update the review. Where is my Old Style Beer??? CHEERS!!!
