My friend and I were in the area looking for something to do when we stumbled upon this wonderful park. The park is filled with beautiful colored trees, a quiet walking trail, a camping area, great views of the Dead River, canoes to go kayaking, and the 2nd biggest Oak Tree in the state of Florida! Pictures will not do this tree justice, trust me, go there for yourself to see how glorious this tree is in person. It is said to be between 500 – 700 years old. It’s simply stunning and was definitely worth the visit inside. We didn’t get a chance to go kayaking as the park closes at 5PM but if you’re looking into renting a canoe I believe it’s around $ 6 – 7 for an hour and that is quite the steal. It is $ 5 to get into the park. There are some fire pits and a pavilion too so it’s a nice place to barbecue with family. I’m looking forward to going back here to rent a canoe, the Dead River is so peaceful and serene. If you would like to visit a park that isn’t overcrowded with people, definitely come check this one out.

This is a great little State Park the admission is $ 5.00 per vehicle for up to(8) people(free with my Florida State Park Pass). As I stated earlier it’s not a very big park but it has a lot of amenities, Pavilions to host a family picnic or just to take a break, Canoe and Kayak Rentals, nature trials, a guided boat tour, plenty of parking, a boat launch and a massive oak tree. The Park Rangers are very helpful and friendly. There are also clean restrooms and a play area for small kids not a bad place to spend a few hours relaxing…
