used KGB deal on a nail service. it went very fast. that’s probably why it turned out not very good. some part of my nails did not even have polish on it. and the cuticles were not cleaned well at all.

Let me first say that my stylist, Thuy, is amazing! She is very friendly and personable, and you can tell she loves what she does and she does it well! When I came in for my appointment, she was fixing another client’s botched haircut from another salon, and I can say the lady looked fantastic when she left! I came in for a Brazilian blowout and my hair has never looked or felt better! I can’t tell you how much time she has saved me — now all I do is wash and blow dry my hair a little and it looks like I just went to the salon… almost LOL. The salon itself is very clean and relaxing and they offer you water or wine when you are there. They also offer pedicures and manicures there but I haven’t tried it yet. I would definitely recommend this salon if you are looking for a stylist who can work magic!

First: if there were half-stars, Salon Belle would be the recipient of 2.5 of ‘em. I feel badly giving a business 2 stars, especially when it’s their first review, but I also don’t want to mislead my fellow Unilocalers. I will start out with the positives: I had a pedicure at Salon Belle almost one month ago, and my toes still look pretty great. Whatever kind of polish they are using(unmarked bottles…) has staying power. No chips, no peeling. Thumbs up! Additionally, the guy who was working at the front desk(maybe the owner’s son?) was really nice and friendly. He offered me a glass of wine, and offered me a refill when I was finished. Now. Onto, uhhh… everything else. I visited Salon Belle after purchasing a KGB Deals voucher for a manicure and a pedicure. Note: if you have an offer, they want you to print it out. Showing the offer on your mobile device doesn’t cut it; they made me actually sit down at their reception desk and print my certificate out. There is nothing wrong with the salon itself. It isn’t fancy, but it’s nicely appointed and it appeared clean. They had the standard massage chair/footbath set up in the pedicure area. My technician spoke very, very little English. I was ok with this, as I don’t really enjoy awkward, forced«chit-chat». Unfortunately– and this may or may not be the result of my using a voucher– she proceeded to give me the shortest pedicure I have ever experienced. My feet were in the foot bath thingy for maybe a grand total of 15 minutes. She still managed to try and upsell me on a hot stone massage, however. And she would periodically pause what she was doing to watch a few seconds of the Asian TV show(see pic) that was playing for all to see on the TV mounted in the back of the salon. My toes looked lovely when she was done, but there was nothing pampering or relaxing about my pedicure experience. As for the manicure: Oh dear. First, I was slightly freaked out as I watched the technician begin to push back my cuticles using her very sharp FINGERNAILS. I went from slightly freaked out to horrified after she SLICEDOPENMYFINGER with her nail, and I began bleeding all over the place(see pic). When she saw what had happened, she attempted to remedy the situation by dumping a bunch of that blue antiseptic stuff on my finger… you know, the kind hair dressers use to clean their brushes??? WTF??? To add insult to injury, my French manicure(for which I paid $ 5 extra) was chipping within 24 hours, despite my best efforts to be extra-careful. I would definitely NOT recommend getting a conventional manicure here. In conclusion, I guess I am ok recommending this place for a cheap pedicure, if you are only interested in results and not having a pampering experience. I don’t think I have to say anything more about the manicure portion, except: Sweet baby manicure Jesus, please don’t let me have hepatitis.
