Not sure how anyone can give this place less than 5 stars?! 1. Very clean restaurant 2. Extremely friendly workers especially the bartender Taylor 3. Free chips and salsa 4. Delicious food, chicken fajitas is my favorite, all fresh ingredients. 5. Margaritas are some of the best I have ever had. I plan on making Rios my weekly to go to Mexican place!

We had dinner at the Rio Saturday night and I appreciate the fact that even though the place is very busy on weekends, they do take reservations and we were seated on time. The restaurant opened less than a couple years ago and it shows in the atmosphere, quite different from the other Rios I have visited. I really like the more contemporary feel of this one. When I think good margarita, the Rio comes to my mind. So many places serve overly sugary margs. Our server told us that they use the same recipe in all the Rio restaurants and indeed our margaritas were as good as expected. The free chips and salsa are good. I can not complain when it seems more and more places have you pay for salsa that is not even that great. The 6 of us had fajitas(one with shrimp the other one with Chicken), burrito, Rio salad, tacos and enchilada. Except for the enchilada that my husband found disappointing, all of us were pleased with our dishes. I also like the fact the the plates are reasonably big and not ridiculously huge. Prices are reasonable considering the quality. Definitively my favorite place for Mexican food when skiing in the area!

This place is the perfect candidate for bar rescue. Food is gross and bar is understaffed. Off the clock employee was drunk at the bar yelling way too personal details of her life. You’re better off with a granola bar and a bud light on the shoulder of the expressway.

Well I am not impressed with the food quality at all. I had the enchiladas shrimp and crab. There was one 50⁄60 ct shrimp on the top and popcorn shrimps inside the corn tortilla. The large shrimp was way over cooked and the popcorn shrimp had no flavor at all. This also included the enchilada sauce. I felt I was eating a TV dinner. I hate to say that, but that is what came to mind when eating it. Tex-Mex is to have a pop and more flavor than authentic Mexican food. This place lacks in that. From the bland Spanish rice to the not so well cooked black beans with fresco cheese. I hope you take these comments and think about adjusting how your ingredients are used and think about traveling to El Paso and eat some Tex-Mex to compare. I wish I would have read the prior comments before eating here. This has no reflection on the friendly staff!!! I wish your staff all the best of luck and hope you are listening to your customers. If you come here come for the décor and maybe the drinks! It is quite nice décor.

Great experience! We arrived to a very busy restaurant and were seated immediately for a table of two. The service was great and the food was very good. We enjoyed that they used organic ingredients and that it’s not greasy like your typical Mexican style restaurants. Margaritas were very tasty as well.

Suuuuper weird that we were told we needed to wait 2 hours to come for dinner(I called at six and they said eight at the earliest). As we sit right now there are literally six tables around us completely open. Do the hostesses know how to do their job? Very confusing. The margs were great as always and the food is reliably good. It’s three stars for the bizarre seating situation.

While the restaurant was very busy the hostesses were very responsive in handling walk ins and reservations. We were seated within 5 minutes and our waitress came immediately to greet us. Our drinks and food were delivered quickly and the food was excellent. We chose Rio due to the veggie green chili which was outstanding. We will definitely be back!

After a few disappointing reviews of the offshoot Rio’s,(Non Denver and Ft. Collins locations) we stopped in for Lunch Saturday. …Two families.8 people… and despite some negative reviews by preceeding reviewers, I have to say that all of our meals came out in a timely manner, and were spot on. Our waiter was great and attentive(from Maine) and there wasn’t a complaint in the group. It pleases me to be able to give a positive review in a market in which is hard pressed to find good help.

Well this was probably the worst mexican food we have ever ate. The waitress was super friendly. But the food was very bla. Salsa was good. Chips where good as well. Kids portion size was sub par and happy hour tacos where very small too. We will not return.

Disappointing Rio– not what I have come to expect based on other Rio locations I have frequented. Very slow service and disappointing food. Chicken fajita Quesadillas had hardly any meat– some pieces were just cheese. Still enjoyed the classic margs.

Not the Rio we are used to. PASS. Poor service, mediocre food. We love the Rio normally, this was our first visit to the Frisco location(usually frequent Boulder-Denver 1x week). Service was very slow, tortilla soup came out cold and we had to send it back. Order mistakes– ordered steak quesadillas and got chicken(mainly cheese) — didn’t even bother asking to get the order fixed as it took 15 – 20 minutes to re-heat the cold tortilla soup– And they still charged us– had to get that fixed also. Good location and still strong margaritas– Food and service are a NOTHANKS.

I love this place! I come here several times a month. I love the combo fajitas, pork burrito(best green chili in summit county) and the happy hour(3−6pm and 9pm Thursday night) The staff is friendly and they play great music. The patio is awesome! Big tex Margarita always hits the spot.

For average Mexican food, this is right at the top of average. While I wouldn’t go down to the Downtown Denver location, as it’s vibe isn’t my cup of tequila, this new location in Frisco is perfect. For example, it’s wide open, with a little fire burning in the bar area. It’s not too hot, and not too cold. And you can see from one end of the restaurant to the other. Now, for the food. Like I said, it’s average. The margaritas famous for sitting you straight on your ass are to be avoided unless you want to get sloshed. Go for a top shelf tequila in your margarita to avoid the pending doom. The meal was sufficient to fulfill my hunger needs, and the chips and salsa were flowing like lava from a volcano. The service, drum roll, was average as well. Meals were served timely, but were served in a «do I have to be here» kind of mood. And the restaurant was literally empty. This wouldn’t be a big deal, but with the prices here, I expect at least a hug. Seriously, the prices require top notch service. Enjoy some average Mexican food, and just justify the prices by enjoying the great space.
