The closest thing to an intimate French creole restaurant in the Quarter! An awesome culinary institute style of creativity, the Chef is brilliant. Would recommend Nola to anyone. Don’t miss a chance to visit while in Frisco.

The food and service both were amazing! I definitely recommend the bread pudding when you’re done with your meal! I had the Flounder with shrimp creole and Gouda grits, and the shrimp and crab gumbo. It was incredible! The bill was a bit steep but the service was above and beyond and the food, like I said, was out of this world, so I found it well worth the cost.

Service was great but the food sucked! The chicken I got was really dry and left me feeling nauseated for the rest of the day! Maybe others will have better luck.

My boyfriend and I tried this place on whim. We were pleasantly surprised. I have the crab cake benedict, the crab cake was mostly crab and was well seasoned. He had the stuffed chicken benedict, which he really enjoyed. I am originally from southern Louisiana and it is not quite the same but its nice to a place with well seasoned Louisiana style food. The décor featured a local Louisiana artist and also had classic rod iron accents. The one thing my boyfriend kept mentioning was the music did not fit the environment. The restaurant was playing traditional 50s diner music, which is not New Orleans.

Was excited to eat some authentic cajun in Frisco but overall was pretty disappointed. We had the shrimp and crab gumbo, which was this very creamy and buttery soup. Could only drink one or two spoonfuls before getting a sick taste from all the butter you could see sitting at the top. We switched it out for the traditional shrimp gumbo. We order the shrimp and grits since we had been craving it and the food itself was okay. There was a bit much sauce and the shrimp wasn’t that fresh. PLUS, the grits weren’t even hot when they came out. The main kicker is that the small shrimp and grits dish was $ 26. Yes, you read that right. If I’m paying $ 26 for shrimp and grits, it better be world class and world class this dish was not. Overall, the location is good, interior is nice and wait service is good but the food leaves more to be desired especially in that price range.

We need more places like this in Frisco Square! Amazing food, ambiance, and service. I took my fiancé for his birthday, and it was a hit! Romantic and amazing cuisine/presentation. I ordered a sangria, which was not the best, maybe stick to the Cajun theme.

Nice. Well done. Great date night or out with friends for good food and conversation. Two small complaints, one spendy and two I leave a little hungry. Complaining is out of the way. I can’t think of meal my parents, my wife, our friends or myself has ever said is not good. I am not familiar with NoLa type food and everything smells great and is very interesting. I tend to pick off of plates of my family and everything I have tasted is very good and unique. I really like it. Oh and the wine is good. If you ask they put the wine in a comically large carafe thing. They explained why that was better for the wine but I just thought it was funny. Dad explained that I am just unsophisticated.

A Favorite on the square in Frisco!!! Excellent appetizers(chargrilled oysters), amazing entrees, and scrumptious desserts. The patio is a great place to enjoy a bottle of wine and take in the Texas sights and sounds. Great Service and LOVE the Manager!!! Try the shrimp and Gouda grits or the pork chop when you go. The fresh fish is usually amazing as well. You will not be disappointed with the quality of the meal, service, or atmosphere. Some folks might perceive it as a bit pricy, but to each his own.

Beginning to end, one of the best meals that I’ve had in years. I’m a pretty picky eater and usually pick something out of meals, even meals that I cook! I cleaned all of my plates. First: Mini cornbread muffin– Great introduction and palette cleaner. App: I was incorrectly told by my husband that the gumbo was spicy. I still wanted to try his. The finish is a bit spicy, but I could have handled it, so I ate half of his cup… lol. Dark roux, rice, perfectly cooked shrimp. Wonderful seafood gumbo. Meal: I had the app portion of the crab cakes and a romaine salad with pancetta. That crab cake is the last thing I want to taste before I die. Creamy, all crab, seasoned to perfection. While the salad was simple, the flavors were a great stand out and the smooth dressing really made the pancetta flavor pop. Dessert: Bread Pudding and Bananas Foster Cheesecake. There were 4 of us, so we shared dessert, cleaned both plates and never looked back. I dont even have words about how perfect they both were. Service: Stellar. Our server was knowledge and fast! The manager(who I think was a manager at a restaurant that I worked at in my college days), came to check on us without prompting and was pleased that we were enjoying our meal. I can’t wait to eat here again!

We just happened to go into this restaurant while we were at the Art Festival. Great atmosphere and we shared a cup of their shrimp and crab gumbo. Man was it good! We asked if we could buy it by the gallon and the answer was YES! Said it may be around $ 45, but don’t hold our waiter to it; he wasn’t sure. The wife had the smoked salmon benedict and I had the Nola Bangin’ Burger. Both were great and we will be back! Lucas was our waiter and he was good. So, if you are inclined to try it for the first time, ask for Lucas!

Came in a after an FC Dallas game and place had a good amount of people. I sat at the bar. They have a pretty good beer selection, good music and table tennis! So far so good. Got a menu checked it out asked the server/bartender what was good. She suggested the shrimp creole, said it was spicy so I went for it. Shrimp was cooked good but overall the dish was mediocre. Maybe next time I’ll stick with the fried food here.

Everything was amazing… food. Drink. experience. Service. My husband is from nola and we frequent there often. Very authentic nola food. A must try for people from the South. We have been living here for a 1 and a half trying all«nola authentic food» this place is it. Our search has ended.

I came here to celebrate Fat Tuesday and there was definitely a celebration going on. There was a live band there called the Blueshunters and they were great! They played songs that they audience would know and they apparently write their own songs too. They sounded great. As for the location, it’s in Frisco, and depending where you’re coming from, it can be a trek, but it’s totally worth it. The menu isn’t long but the options available were quite awesome. I would certainly come again. I met the owner and he was super nice along with the entire serving staff. Not alot of places can get cajun cooking right but this place certainly did. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars this time was because there was not any broiled crawfish available(which I love!) but as soon as they start carrying crawfish, I’ll be back to update my review!

Yup, still damn good. Ya know service is truly good in how mistakes are addresses. Today I ordered another catfish poboy and a crawfish poboy appeared. Normally I’m inclined to roll with this because, ya know, crawfish! But man I REALLY wanted some catfish and this place has some damn good cat. I kindly asked for a correction and that correction was made nice and proper. To quote the greatness of Jerry Clower, «HAAAAAAAAWWWWWWW, dat be DAAAMMMMNNNNGOOOD!»

Located in Frisco in Main Street Square with valet parking Nola Grill has atmosphere and taste in spades. The service has always been impeccable, but I have yet to see that grand piano played! You MUST order the she crab soup. If you do not, you have deprived yourself of probably one of the most exquisite soups on the planet. Made of, you guessed it, «she» crabs, this creamy buttery soup is better than heaven in a bowl, it’s utterly foodgasmic. Sometimes I go there by myself for lunch and order oysters on the half shell and a bowl of she crab soup and I don’t feel guilty about it and it’s worth the drive! I ate there last weekend and ordered the shrimp and grits, and it was pretty salty, but I think they were just having an off night, but in general, you will not be disappointed by the food or the service!

I got the prime rib special here and it was honestly one of the best steaks i’ve ever had in my life. When it comes to cajun style food, this is as good as it gets. Loved the atmosphere as they had a piano player playing some light music. The square is a good little spot to explore afterwards.

Took my wife overs for dinner. We had a great experience as usual. We really like NOLA. I think the prices are a bit high for what you get, especially the fried green tomatoes, but at $ 12, there should be 5 – 6 of those and use more remoulade sauce. The rest of our food was fantastic! I had a an Abita beer and my wife had some hurricane-like drink that she enjoyed. If you’re thinking of going to NOLA, go but be sure to bring the credit card with max limit!

OMG… Amazing food. I don’t think it’s extremely pricey as other reviewers suggested. My husband, my 2 boys and I dined here for dinner. We had the fried green tomatoes with shrimp remoulade. It was very flavorful. What’s not to love when you have shrimp, fried food and mayo. My husband and I shared this. There were 3 pieces of tomato and 3 large shrimp. I forgot to take a picture of the whole dish. My kids ordered from the kids menu. They had Mama Jo’s chicken fingers and carnival style corn dog with fresh fruit. They loved their dinners. It came with a root beer float after dinner. My husband had the Alaskan salmon which came in a hot cream sauce with asparagus and he ordered a glass of white wine. While he liked it, he liked my dish better. I had the BBQ shrimp & gouda grits. The flavors together were amazing. The grits were creamy and my shrimp were perfectly cooked. I am dreaming about them the next day. For dessert we had the bread pudding. While it was good, I’ve had better. We will definitely return! I forgot to mention we spent $ 117 with tip. Not too bad.

NOLA Grill is located on Frisco Square. We went to the Arts on the square yesterday and decided to eat some fine dining instead of deep fried oreos and funnel cakes. This restaurant is more of a place where you take a date, but they did have a kid’s menu! One look at the brunch menu and I wanted to eat everything. Blackened catfish and shrimp creole with smoked Gouda grits? Crawfish omelet? Shrimp and grits? How can I pick just one thing? It took me 10 minutes or more to decide. I didn’t really want anything too heavy or big though because the heat and I don’t get a long on a full stomach. So with that I went with the She Crab Soup and Charbroiled Oysters. I got excited about the She Crab Soup because I have only seen it in on the menu mostly in Georgia and Florida. My husband got the shrimp and crab gumbo. The She Crab Soup was delightful. So tasty, rich, and light with little bits of crab. I wish I had gotten a bowl of it, but the cup hit the spot. The charbroiled oysters were delicious and buttery. I only had a bite of my husband’s soup, but it was really good as well. It’s pricey, but well worth it. I would definitely make the hour drive back to Frisco to eat here again!
