Very sad they CLOSED :(Their rent was doubled and they couldn’t afford it. Here’s a GoFundMe page explaining:

Disappointed. Had high expectations from the great Unilocal reviews. Food was bland. Had the street tacos. Lot of meat but no flavor. Rice had no flavor. Beans were okay. Hot sauce had some heat but no flavor. Chips were good. Service was slow. All in all, a disappointing experience.

Drawn to Marianas based on Unilocal reviews, our experience was less than satisfying. The space itself could be described as a hole in the wall, and traditionally many of these places serve incredible food… especially in CA. It may have just been a case of bad timing, but one of the reviews read prior to giving this place a shot indicated they served carne asada fries, a kid pleasing dish that they unfortunately had run out of ingredients for. Among the dishes we did sample were a beef wet burrito and chicken tacos. Although edible, the North Texas area has numerous alternatives that outperform this establishment on experience, taste, and for the same cost or marginally more.

Great California style taco shop in Texas where normally it’s Tex Mex or nothing! I had three Carne Asada soft tacos overflowing with juicy meat for only $ 5.50! My sister had the biggest quesadilla I have ever seen over stuffed with beef, cheese and and guacamole! Good stuff and I am a taco lover from California!

This place is a hidden gem in Frisco. Go!!! I had the green salsa chicken enchiladas. So good. I took it to go on a Saturday afternoon. Fast service. Very busy. And cheap. Full dinner for $ 7 delicious. I’ll be going back soon.

If this was SoCal I would give this place about 3 stars. However, having been in Texas for almost a year and being from San Diego, this is about as good as it gets. The first thing I noticed when walking in was a salsa bar with HOTCARROTS! I love hot carrots and this was a pleasant surprise. My wife ordered the California burrito and I ordered the pollo asado burrito. These are really big burritos. Unfortunately mine had way too much refried beans and was a little skimpy on the pollo. However it did have that SoCal taste. My wife really enjoyed her burrito. Overall not too shabby. If I had to recommend a somewhat authentic SoCal Mexican restaurant, this place would be it. We will be back.

This place was a total waste of my money. I just came from California where I am used to having very good authentic Mexican food. After reading the other reviews and seeing this place had 4 stars, my expectations were high. This place is the total opposite of authentic. The carne asada had no flavor and my burrito was pretty much all beans with the tiniest bit of everything else. I think there was only 8 pieces of meat in my entire burrito. My fiancée got carne asada tacos and the meat was ice cold. She had to pour so much salsa on it just to give it some flavor. Go elsewhere!

Best little«hole in the wall» place! The workers are super friendly, great variety on the menu, and its very authentic mexican food. Love how they serve menudo and pozole! My favorite is the carnitas burrito. Had their«queso» and its actually more just like a nacho cheese sauce… Oddly good though! They have great salsas, guacamole, and spicy pickled vegetables. The little topping bar is great. They have really good Horchata too! Very limited seating.

Love, love, love Marianas Taco shop. Reminds me of the authentic Mexican food back home in Southern California. Great prices, great service and great food ! Get the taco plate and you won’t be disappointed. They recently expanded their seating area so now there are plenty of places to sit. Enjoy !

It was surprisingly delicious. We ate tostadas, sopes, and street tacos. They were all very tasty! The chips were homemade and they had a salsa bar so you could get as much salsa as you want. The prices were fair not to cheap and not too expensive. The only surprise was the cheese dip. It was like nacho cheese which the owner disclosed but we didn’t care it was good with the chips. It was close to closing time so the owner gave us free churros. Wow they were awesome! Also homemade filled with a butterscotch like cream. It was a great ending to the night. We will come again!

I would have given them 5 stars but the service was terrible. They took 30 minutes before they even acknowledged we were there! They were serving everyone else before us! We ordered a wet burrito and quesadilla. Both were delicious. The steak in the burrito was perfect and it came with rice and beans in the burrito. We also ordered chips and salsa. Wish they had some sort of pico. Best Mexican food I’ve had since moving here from Cali. Hopefully they work on their service or get more people working.

I found out about Mariana’s Taco shop after reading an article in the Frisco newspaper. I’m originally from California and have been highly disappointed with the TeX Mex restaurants in the DFW area. I figured that I would give them a try and see how their Burritos were. I can’t say enough about Marianas! I love this place! Not only does it remind Mr of home, the service is great, the food is fresh and its delicious! I am so happy to know that I can get great authentic Mexican food in Frisco. Its not commercialized like a lot of the restaurants around here. Real burritos have refried beans and real ground beef or chicken and not the cilantro rice that’s barely cooked like Free Birds or Chipotle. I am in love. I can’t say enough about Mariana’s! You definitely have a fan in me. I will bring my friends this weekend so they can enjoy some real Mexican food. Even from the homemade salsa and sliced jalapeños with carrots and garlic, I am impressed. Thank you!!!

The chimichanga was warm delicious and the beef was seasoned so well. The beans and rice were made with care like I was at my grandmothers house back home. The nachos with guacamole were so delicious and fresh. The huge supreme burrito was to big for my hubs to finish. So great. Friendly owners and is officially my new fave place!

6 years later and Marianas is just like I remember. Whatever you decide to get here — be it tacos, burrito, or a torta — get the barbacoa. Some of the best tacos(and meat) I’ve had.

My wife is working around the corner and went here yesterday with coworkers, told me its my kind of place. It’s not directly off Main Street but pretty close. They have a sign on Main Street to point you there. There are probably 6 — 8 tables and a very small place. I ordered at the counter with no problem and was served shortly after. I got the carne Asada street taco platter. It was very good and your typical authentic street tacos. Beans and rice were tasty and their salsa is pretty good. No bells and whistles just straight good olé taqueria!

Been here a few times, very small but authentic location in downtown frisco. Family owned with pretty genuine dishes here, reasonably priced(most are $ 4-$ 7), a lot of regulars here for lunch. Had the tacos, burritos, and it is well above average. Would certainly come back!

Ehhh… and I hate to write bad reviews. My expectation was just a little more than the bland tacos I received. The beans and rice looked good, but I didn’t order those. Then too, so did the pics of those tacos(yall took). Maybe it was an off day, but to have so many options, I won’t run back… especially when I feel I could’ve made the same thing at the house. Go ahead and try it, everyones taste buds are different.

Pretty authentic shop in the area. Very nice people and services. Food is terrific IMO, I’d rather eat here than TB or a franchise eatery for Mexican flavors for sure, real home style mom family style cooking. Inside kind of small, so it gets crowded during lunch time but I’ve never waited too long and there’s a counter to eat at, if there’s no tables. Seating is limited for a large party but tables can be put together. The smell is great. Not a large drink selection, typical coke sodas and some Mexican choices and a few dessert selections. However, I come here to eat and it serves my authentic taste buds very well. The wet burrito is splendid and huge!

If I had to choose between Fuzzy’s Tacos and Mariana’s Taco Shop, I think I’d choose to starve. I’m still attempting to understand the«Texan’s Pallet.» I was referred here by several Texan’s I work with. They told me, it’s authentic and good. Well, it really fell short. I don’t expect awesome service from hole’s in the wall joints, but they have to have good food. In Los Angeles the hole in the walls joints had good personable«ok service» to go with their great food. THEFOOD: The torta was pretty bad, and I think they use canned beans. A lot of the ingredients seemed boxed, canned or mix packets. The tacos we «ok,» nothing special. THEATMOSPHERE: The service and atmosphere, was pretty dreadful. It was pretty dirty too. As I said, «I like whole in the wall joints with ok service.» But, they have to bring the flavor. LASTNOTES: Overall, in comparison to what I have had in my life, this taco joint is not up to par in the food department.

This is a hole in the wall taco shop in downtown Frisco area. I ordered the 3 soft tacos: pastor, pollo asada, & carne asada. It was around $ 5 for the tacos. My all-time fave street tacos are fuel city. So, I was really hoping these would be somewhere near those tacos. They only come in corn tortillas, which is fine. The pastor was a bit dry so, I wasn’t too impressed on that one. The pollo asada was better than the pastor. Their was more flavor and it wasn’t dry. The carne asada definitely was the best of the 3. I liked that they had a salsa bar because I love salsa. I also digg the fact that there were other options on the menu. Carne asada fries, tortas and chimis. I’m definitely am coming back. The tacos weren’t fuel city level but it’s so much closer than driving out there. The tacos were pretty legit though. I’m looking forward to eating here again.
