I was really looking forward to this place after finding it on Unilocal and driving a bit out of our way to get some good Chinese food. But, my order took 35 minutes? I got the teriyaki chicken. With sauce on side. So basically chicken over rice. 35 minutes? Portion seemed big in box. But its only because they literally give you so much rice. Large menu, owners looked nice. But another culture that doesn’t love the A/C as much as I do. Yes, it was hot that day,(106 degrees). But inside of restaurant(mind you it was 8pm and dark and cooler by now) was hotter than outside. Kind of spooks me when restaurant and kitchen are so hot while they are preparing my food. Really wanted to like the place and find good things to say and review. But I will not be returning.

An alternative to Panda express if your looking for a decent Chinese meal under $ 8. Is this place better maybe, all depends your preference. That’s not a knock on them, I just think Panda express is very good fast food wise and probably better then some of the very expensive Japanese kitchen that cooks the food in front of you. Unlike Panda, the plate size is larger, the food are cook as you order so you are going to get a very hot meal. The couple that works their are very cool and hard working folks. The cooks that works their usually close early on Monday, and I came in on the wrong day and he was about to leave. Instead he restarted the kitchen again and let me order a meal. If you like Chinese you should at least give this place a shot once.

So this place is listed on Unilocal under Asian wok & grill and wok & grill. I’ll review on both sites to be fair. It’s a hole in the wall place located in the fresno ag strip mall. Small and unassuming. I would say they are a few steps above panda and not close to your top end Asian restaurants. Very few tables and most everything is served in takeout containers. I found this place on the«around me» app(sorry) while driving back from a job. Glad I did. Prices are very low, I ordered Mongolian beef, broccoli beef and fried rice. A lot of food for under $ 8.00 The Mongolian beef was outstanding. Great favors. The broccoli beef was good but average. The fried rice served with this order was plain, no meat, very little egg, almost just rice but that’s ok cause it was very tasty. Overall I’m very happy with the Asian wok & grill. I will go back to try more of their many selections. I would recommend this place.

Service: This place has awesome service and make you feel welcomed as soon as you come into the door. The couple there are so sweet and try to remember their guests. Although it’s kinda hard to understand the man’s English sometimes because of his accent. Food: As beck p. mentioned, they are VERYGENEROUS! I’ve been here with my boyfriend and we share one plate to go and are stuffed afterwards. Orange chicken and chow mein are my favorite. I’m a college student and don’t want to spend a lot of money eating out, so this place is my favorite for Chinese food. CHEAPANDYUMMY!

Overview: Decent tasting«Asian Fast Food» restaurant for great prices! DISCLAIMER!!!: Let’s face it, any place that serves Korean, Chinese, Thai AND Japanese food under one restaurant roof is not going to be the best of the best. Just considering their food, I would rate it 2 – 3 stars. However, a few factors we’re going to consider in the rating, besides the food, are QUANTITY, PRICE and SERVICE. Plus I’ll be going over a few dishes that make the trip worthwhile. A) QUANTITY: The biggest factor to consider with these kinds of food places. The amount of food given is definitely a star-adder in my opinion. A small fried rice goes for about $ 4.50−4.95. With the amount given, I can definitely eat the one dish for two separate meals and be extremely satisfied on both accounts. B) PRICE: Considering quantity and regarding it with price, this place is a fantastic value for your money. Most, if not all, of the dishes are under $ 5-$ 6 bucks. If i were a college student in Fresno, I would probably have eaten here ALL the time. C) SERVICE: The mom & pop at this shop(yay rhyming!) are so cute and friendly. They’re always smiling and very helpful. Even when asking for tap water, instead of the bottled water sold, the mom delivers the water to the table. Very sweet. They also don’t hesitate to thank you for your business and make you feel appreciated. Dishes to highlight: I really like their chicken wings(appetizer) and their fried rice(with your choice of meat). On their own, they’re a bit meh, but if you get them SPICY, the flavor is much better. It’s not so much an added spiciness rather than adding fuller flavors that compliment the taste. The spiciness is still pretty mild. That being said, the fried chicken has a nice crunch to the outside. The meat is pretty plentiful for being chicken wings. The fried rice has been solid each time I’ve ordered it(about 5 – 8 times). The dish includes carrots, peas, eggs, meat and flavoring. These two dishes are my go to dishes at this place. Definitely greasy *shrugs* but flavorful and not too salty. HIGHLY recommend going spicy. I tried the Thai Beef dish. Flavoring was good but the beef itself was so-so. Overcooked and chewy, in my opinion. My friend recommends the korean beef.(***UPDATE: After letting the leftover Thai Beef dish sit for a couple of hours and then reheating, the flavor had soaked into the beef and the texture of the beef and softened up. Ended up being more delicious as leftovers than the actual meal!) I haven’t tried any other dishes here but I’d imagine they’d range from decent to ok. I might leave my safety nest of chicken wings and fried rice to try something new someday, hehe.
