Food is AMAZING. Customer service BLOWS! Just came in, wasn’t greeted. Manager was on headset complaining about doing someone else’s job, and when I asked for eggs on the salad bar, i was told(rudely) that those are only in the“afternoon”. It’s 1:13 pm! To add insult to injury, the cashier was on her headset, talking about the customer complaining about the eggs. Really folks? Customers pay your f#! $/_^ wages! Oh, by the way people, those head sets don’t make you invisible. I’m right here! I can HEARYOU. One more thing, don’t bother posting a menu online if it’s not really what you are serving. Get it right. Act like you care.

4 ½ stars… Sweet Tomatoes and Souplantation are salad bars and serve-yourself buffets with healthier food. The salad bar starts with lettuce bowls with mostly fresh lettuce, plus ready-made salads. I like that they have labels designating vegetarian, gluten-free, vegan, etc., and their many options. You pay at the register(it’s always best to check online for coupons) and get your cup. Once you sit down with your $ 8 – 14 lunch salad-and-drink at a table(good luck finding a free, clean one), turn your center card over to «I’ll be ripe back» and head over to the soup bar with standbys such as clam chowder, chicken noodle, and chili(the latter is GF and delicious). They also have a buffet of rolls, pastas, baked potatoes(GF), and jasmine rice(GF) to follow along to the desserts of mousse, Jell-O, and soft-serve ice cream. Each month they promote a different thing, whether different flavors of mac-n-cheese, strawberry everything, or pumpkin spice(check the center of your table). Tips: If you get here at peak times, be prepared to wait for a table, or seat your group on the covered patio outside. If you don’t use your center signaling card, know you may come back to find your plate gone and/or your table cleaned. Always check for coupons online before coming. When you leave, don’t forget to put«See you next thyme,» so they can clear the way for more customers. Since the parking lot is small and the area is shared with a hospital, be prepared to circle or park a ways down.

Was on a road trip with my boyfriend this weekend. We were so hungry and decided to have something healthier so we came here on Sunday early afternoon. My boyfriend told me it’s basically Souplantation & we love that place. Terrible choice. The salad bar was messy, things were nearly empty. There was a female sweeping right near the salad bar and was very rude to us. Pretty much saying we are in her way sarcastically. She then made us feel dumb because we walked to the other side of the bar because one of the salads was empty and she said with attitude«You know both sides are the same, right?» Um, no shit. Maybe if it was stocked we wouldn’t have to walk to the other side. The cashier guy was nice. Also the floors were filthy with food. I’d suggest getting a nicer cleaning person. I get it, it gets busy but that’s your job. I work retail, I know weekends are hectic. Doesn’t mean you should be rude to those who are supporting your paycheck. Won’t be coming back here.

Doesn’t deserve any stars! Wow this place has gone downhill! …the soups now are tasteless and watered down… The salad bar was ok… but the prepared salads were not good. The whole time we were there, 90 minutes, none of the tables around us got cleared off and wiped down! They used to have tables cleaned immediately(years ago)…but now they just had a few employees wandering around and walking right by the tables filled with dirty dishes and they did nothing! So there were filthy tables filled with dirty dishes all around us while we were trying to eat! 90 minutes later, as we were getting up to leave… someone started clearing some tables. They also had mexican music blaring in the kitchen. which we heard all the way in the dining room. All the employees I spoke to didn’t even know how to speak English. The muffins lack flavor… nothing like they used to be… even the ice cream tastes weird. I have been coming to this Sweet Tomatoes for years(since they opened)…so I know what the food is supposed to taste like and how good the service used to be and how very clean they used to keep it. They used to have a manager walking around making sure we were happy and everything was on point. You can definitely see there has been a drastic change the last 2 – 3 years… whoever took over this place has ruined a good thing… very sad! Stop trying to cut corners by bringing down the quality of the food… make the food like it used to be made! Get a manager in this place that knows how to run a restaurant and get some employees that are not completely lazy and incompetent. For the people that actually have good reviews on here… I feel sorry for you that you actually think the watered down, tasteless food is good… you must not have been coming here 4+ years ago because you would know that it is awful, compared to how it used to be! Or you have no taste buds and dont mind eating with filthy tables surrounding you. I will not be back until the food is brought back to its high standard and you get a manager that knows how to keep a restaurant running smoothly and you can eat without feeling that you are eating next to a garbage dump!

Love it here! Very friendly staff & great selections. I definitely recommend. Yasmin is my favorite server there. Customer service is always on point. Their cornbread is to die for! And that chili! Mmmmm! A+++++

Sweet Tomatoes was amazing as always. When I first heard of this place I wasn’t sure that I was going to like a salad buffet. I was wrong! This place is so good and has healthy options that also taste really good. When you enter the restaurant you start at at salad bar. They have so many topping options and dressings. They also have options for side dishes like pasta salad, tuna salad and others. After you enjoy your salad you can go back for more salad or can move on to the next part of the buffet. They have made from scratch soups, pastas and an assortment of baked goods. The chicken noodle soup is my favorite, the noodles are homemade and taste amazing! There desserts are really good and the warm blueberry muffins are so good. I will continue to stop at Sweet Tomatoes when I’m in the area. I love the healthy options that still taste really good!

Another of those tie on the feed bag buffets but there is a twist. The twist is that the buffet is mainly fresh vegetables so you can make a humungous salad. They also have desserts, soups, baked potatoes and pasta. I am not a big salad fan. However, the veggies were fresh and there was a large choice of items to build a salad with. Besides a huge salad. I had chunky chicken noodle soup which was pretty good. I tried a couple pasta dishes both of which I liked. I really enjoyed the mac and cheese. I really don’t like the layout of the restaurant. When you come in the door the buffet line is right there. You grab a tray and plate and start loading up. Problem is that if there is a long line, you end up waiting outside. There appears to be only one drink station so you have to dodge people and wait to get your drink. The pasta, soups and desserts are tucked away in their own little corner of hell. This area is so cramped and congested with people you have to be real aggressive to get even a scrap of food. This brings me to the chicken wings of which there were none, I am not sure if it is legal to advertise that you have a buffet unless you offer chicken wings. If there is not such a law, I will gladly push for legislation to make it so. Not a fan since I am not a big salad eater. Also, the layout of the restaurant is not good. Finally, I strongly believe it is blasphemous to have a buffet with no chicken wings.

Good choices for food fresh and good. In dire need of a re-model… Dirty and old. Don’t like dirty. Question the cleanliness.

I really like Sweet Tomatoes. Sometimes you just want a salad. They have damn near everything you could want to put on it. Their hot bar is alright, it could be better, but it’s a salad bar… not a hot bar… bar… ya. Their«lava» cakes are pretty decent for what it is. I’m not a fan of their soft serve. Oh! Their drink selection is great. Half lemonade, half strawberry lemonade, erry day. And if you sign up with your email, you always get coupons mailed to you for a few dollars off, which is great!

I’ve been here a million times and I am finally writing a review about it. I love love love this place. Whenever I’m filling salad, I come here to get it. You can make the perfect salad the way YOU want it here. They also have soup, bread stick, rice, etc and some dessert items. You can eat all you want since it is buffet style. Me and my bf come here all the time if we feel that we need some fiber in our lives.

I love coming here for a Togo salad. It’s 6 dollars for as much salad as you can fit into one of their Togo containers… and I can fit a lot of salad into a Togo container. Lately it’s been the only thing I’ve been wanting to eat. I come before work and make my salad and then eat on it throughout the entire day. The food is always fresh and plentiful… the staff is always so wonderful and accommodating. I could see how dining in might be inefficient given how busy they can be at times but when I’m just trying to get in and out for a lunch break its always super fast. Even on their busiest days I’m out of there in less than 10 minutes. Give them a try if you are looking for a quick healthy lunch.

Sweet Tomatoes is the place for the healthiest all you can eat buffet ever and happens to be infested with seniors too(like seriously a lot of old people), its basically an american buffet style for salads, soups, desserts, simple pizzas, and classical american favorites like mac and cheese and more. If your from south Cali, this place is also known as «souplantation», its the very same company. With lunch being $ 8 and dinner $ 11. They even offer salad to go, family size for as low as $ 15, which would serve 6 – 8 people. Join their Free Club vege to save more on their website. This place is completely self serve, so no tips is required, although some is appreciated. Try to go as early as possible to avoid the crowd, because this place can get really crowded that its so hard for you to get your food and take your time because everyone is like rushing. Its normally open 11 am to 9 pm all week, but on Sundays they offer breakfast too Featuring scrambled eggs, waffles, biscuits & gravy, oatmeal, roasted potatoes, freshly baked cinnamon chip biscuits, muffins, make-your-own breakfast burritos, and more! There isn’t a whole lot of protein choices, so don’t expect like roasted chicken or grilled roast beef, with that said, they do have protein choices like their hearty chicken noodle soup, and if you are like me, and happen to choose the right things to eat at this buffet and in moderation, you would actually be having one of the healthiest buffets in your lifetime. The system here is simple, you start as you enter, pick up a tray, a plate and start selecting salads from this long 20 feet long bar, which has an assortment of mixed salad, cut greens, fresh legumes, dressings, and condiments. Its basically a build your own salad kind of place. You can pick 2 plates per tray if you can’t fit it in 1. At the end of the line you would pay for your meal, I would highly recommend getting to their website and signing up for their FREE club vege, because you will get coupons for 15−30% off your meal via email. They have 4 sections here, the 20 feet salad bar, and then there is the 8 varieties of soups bar, everything from chicken noodle soup to clam chowder, and then they also have the american classical favorites bar– pizza, pasta, mac and cheese, muffins. Finally they have the dessert bar area with an ice cream machine, tapioca pudding, chocolate mousse and more. The also have a fountain self help drink area– drinks are extra $$ by the way. The fresh is overall really fresh, and the taste is actually really healthy. The produce they use here is high quality and it changes every month also, therefore its never really the same. Don’t have high expectation for the food to be gourmet or anything, but for a buffet place, this place is actually really awesome, healthy and cheap.

I love this place! it’s a very healthy alternative to the greasy restaurants I usually eat at Today it was kinda dirty and there were Nats flying around the food, kinda gross! but the chocolate dessert they had made up for it! the sweet corn chowder with bacon soup was also good with the focaccia bread.

Heads up, this is NOT a vegan restaurant(vegan for health, not snobbery). Whatever can contain dairy seemed to contain lots of it, including all of their breakfast dishes. We liked the establishment, what we did eat was good, and the establishment was clean and friendly. We don’t blame them, and when we asked the staff if there were any vegan or dairy free breakfast entrees, they were nice enough to offer to comp our food or let us take a salad instead of telling us too bad. If we weren’t trying to cut out dairy, this place would be great, and the staff are amazing. Also, they have a wonderful selection of tea, with dairy-free creamers! If our daughter didn’t have a milk allergy, we would come back for sure.

Quick place to get a fast bite to eat. We’ve eaten here a few times it not bad for the price. They have a decent clam chowder that’s better than most restaurants, and they are a buffet. Classic soft serve dessert area. And the manager and his crew was on it that day! Busing tables left and right… Not an empty dish lying around. He was also greeting guests as he was cleaning, he was doing a great job. They were hustling to keep food hot and plentiful and keep the restaurant clean. I loved it, will definitely be back again.

I’ve been coming here for over a decade. I used to frequent the one on Shaw before it closed and got torn down to become Texas Roadhouse. This is the only one left in Fresno and as a result it’s always busy. It’s also the only buffet of its kind that I know of in the area. Other than a DIY salad bar, they offer a wide variety of premade salads and pasta salads, about 6(can’t remember exact number) of made from scratch soups, one or two pasta dishes as well as a variety of baked good like muffins, breads and pizza. There’s also a soft serve machine and a small selection of fresh fruit and puddings for dessert. Their bakery items are conveniently portioned so you can sample a little of everything. Tiny muffins and slices of bread and pizza. Some of my favorites are the Tuna Tarragon pasta salad, Big Chunk Chicken Noodle soup(very popular and usually runs out fast. The chicken chunks used to be HUGE, but I always preferred the thick cut noodles so I was ok with the change) and the chocolate molten lava cake(available after 4pm). They also have carry out available. I’ve never done it, but I believe they charge by container.

I’ve been going here for the last decade and its always been really good. The only soup, salad buffet in town where you can pig out without so much guilt. The vegetarian options are awesome with a vast array of green salad options. Theyll have pasta salad or couscous depending on the month. There are usually up to 6 kinds of soup out and 2 – 3 are usually vegetarian friendly. Then there’s the hot foods bar which is pretty limited. Its usually a combo of Mac n cheese, some special pasta, and/or rice dish. There are baked potatoes which you can load up however you please. Baked cheese and pizza breads… And its placed right next to the dessert bar filled with muffins, corn bread and the small cone frozen ice cream machine. Normal dinner price is about $ 11.49 which feels like a lot for soup and salad, but I usually have coupons sent to me when you join their club veg. Coupons can be from lunch 7.99 to dinner $ 9 something … Around there. Its like a usual $ 2 off. Be weary meat eaters… I hear complaints from meat loving folks always asking, «where’s the meat?» You won’t be swimming in steak, pork and chicken options. It’s sprinkles of animals in the dishes. If you’re looking for a healthier and lighter buffet option… Try sweet tomatoes for yourself. :)
