Called to see if there was a wait, availability, or if I could make an appointment. The woman who answered the phone was not helpful at all. I asked her how long the wait was, she said she didn’t know because it depended on the barber, who was there waiting, and how long each cut would be.(No shit!) I was so puzzled as to why she answered the phone at all if she didn’t have any clue about what was going on in the shop. Found another shop across the street. I would not recommend this place simply because they obviously do not care about customers or service.

True, this is place is outdated and located on a crack of a corner, BUT service is overall good. My fiancé often gets his hair cut here and they’ve always done a decent job(for $ 4.50). Parking can be a pain in the butt.

I’m reviewing based on multiple aspects. cost $ 3 for military,$ 5 for everyone else. Haircut(if gotten by first chair) is top notch. I get medium fades with a 1 on top and lined up. Wait time isn’t as bad as expected during rush hour. He finishes my haircut in about 5 – 10 minutes. As far as professionalism and manners goes, I haven’t had any bad experiences. They cut kids hair, druggies, and mentally challenged and there were no complaints from the barbers about them or anything rude said. The one thing that sucks is the parking. If you go during rush hour good luck finding parking. It also does get uncomfortable when homeless or druggies do come by the barber shop because it is in a poorer part of Fresno. Other then that I would recommend this place but check it out for yourself. Reviews don’t really do it justice unless you go and do it yourself and write your experience. I came to this place because of the price and because my barber would lagg on me and wasn’t professional.

I’ve been getting my haircut there for a while by sandy or Javier outstanding barbers but the owners are horrible. People I’ve witnessed how betty n her husband disrespect their customers n what’s. Worse is they even disrespect children n women some times for no reason they think they can do this because they charge 5 dollars he’ll no if they are tired of dealing with people close the place down but dnt disrespect ur customers! !!!

I wish I could give this place no stars! I took my son who has special needs(autism) to this establishment. While he was getting his hair cut he was scared and quietly crying. I had him in my arms and was comforting him. He was still but crying. The owner(elderly woman with white hair) told me in no fewer words that my son was a «nuisance» and should be spanked for crying in her shop. I told her of his diagnosis, and then she proceeded to tell me how«Autism isn’t real, it is just bad parenting.» I reminded her that I have brought in my other 3 boys, and they are all well behaved. She refused to think that she should have to put up with my child and his(quiet) tears. She stopped the haircut, and told us to leave. My son was no longer in tears, but I was. This place is pathetic. Not only is it dirty, but the owner is not exactly a decent person.

I really wanted to like this place. I was referred here by a coworker. We are both military and haircuts are important to us since we get them weekly. The place is filed with betty boob and military nostalgia. None of it is kept up or dusted. The first chair I sat in I tried explaining I wanted a military cut and she told me she didn’t know how. I waited for another chair. There is no waiting system, just wait until someone offers to cut your hair. The second barber was nice and nailed the hair cut after a few tips of what I was looking for. The place was a mess. Hair all over the chairs, way more than you’d expect. You need a shower after coming here.

Place has gone downhill a lot. Good barbers who take their time and have pride in their work are always fired by the old lady who owns the joint. She believes in quantity over quality which I understand but you must make exceptions for customers willing to pay a better price.

I came here after reading a review that they could perform military haircuts. The first visit went fine but the second visit was a nightmare! The Hmong lady screwed my hair up royally. On top of a bad haircut she asked if I was Asian(I look Hispanic or Filipino), I replied my mother is Chinese & she asked about my father & I said he’s black. She then stares at me points her finger in my face & states«YOU’REBLACK». This went on & on for the duration of the haircut. Finally another barber stepped in because my haircut was so bad that he had to come over & attempt to fix it. That was the only time she let up on the you’re black thing. After the butcher job on my head was finished I went to pay. The Hmong lady went to cross my name off the waiting list & asks is your name XXX to which I replied yes. She responds why don’t you have a black name. I was speechless. She then goes on & on about me being black & how I should have a black name because I’m black & not American. I told her I was born in this country & I’ve fought & bled for it. I left & would NEVER return to this place again.

This is the best ‘old school’ Barber Shop in town. $ 4.50 for adults and $ 4.00 kids and seniors. Military cuts are often free in uniform or $ 3.00 non-uniform. Ask for Doc who reads Shakespeare when he’s not busy, Betty from Montana and tales of her ancestors who pioneered Montana, Sandy, the former Thai Chef who cooks the best Thai food when he is at home but gives the best shave and haircut, several others who have been here for 10+ years. Weekends can be crowded but the barber team handles the crowds. Great service in an olde fashioned(39yrs) shoppe.

The owner of this barbershop is rude! I went in today with my boys and she talks about people with tattoos. She says they are ugly and disgusting. The owners name is Betty I think. But I wont be back here with her nasty attitude.

This lady messed up my haircut, BAD! literally she took 4 min to finish. not even a clean up shave or asked me if i wanted to get my side side burns cut… she just tooked the liberty to do whatever she wanted i guess she must have thought that i was some kid or something that i was not going to tip her. After she was done, i was like are you serious! Never again will i go there!

Flat rate of $ 4 for a haircut. It was my dad who brought me here to get a haircut and he was right… they’re great barbers! Let me first say that parking is very limited! There are approximately 15 parking spaces along the front row of stores. Three cars can park next to the sidewalk and two can fit on the side. You could always park on the far side of the strip, but you will not be able to see your car. Inside, the shop is decorated with military souvenirs, photos, advertisements, and other things. There are about 25 chairs inside so come early or at a good time because this place gets crowded. There is a long horizontal mirror across the walls. When getting a haircut, you’re basically facing everyone else waiting since the mirror is right above their head. Depending on the type of cut you get, it usually takes at most 15 minutes. Some barbers tend to be better than others, but I’ll leave that to you guys to see for yourselves.
