so it’s 2 days after Christmas and they have 1 person at the register and about a dozen on the floor making things pretty. Another was at the register too but not helping customers, just counting receipts and looking blankly at the long line of customers waiting behind the customer at the checkout buying every fifty cent ornament in the store … one by one by one. Empty-headed counter girl could have at least helped the wrapped each ornament but instead kept at her task of counting receipts. After about 20 minutes she has a light-bulb moment and calls another cashier to the front. I get there with my 5 fall items from the 75% off shelf and 3 of them ring up as regular price. She tells me these 3 sunflower napkin rings are not on sale. I tell her(and show her since it’s 5 feet away) the sign says«fall items 75% off» and it’s on the one shelf containing what’s left of their fall collection along with still others just like it sitting there plain as day and she still claims I want to purchase to the only 3 fall items left in the store that are not on sale. Then she brings over another sales clerk who confirms these 3 are not on sale. So instead of fixing their mistake and giving me the discount they lost the whole sale as I said«forget it, I don’t want anything». Worst customer service ever. I will never go back.

Customer Server needs cultural sensitivity courses on how to treat all CUSTOMERS!!! First we walk in were not greeted like the other customers were! I had to ask for help for my Dad who was looking for incense. The sales person walked by us numerous times without looking our way. We asked her if they had incense, we were told no in a sarcastic tone. So we said really because we thought we had purchased incense here before. At that time we asked her if she knew any other place to find incense SHE rudely replayed why don’t you try the GASSTATION and walked off! Of course she didn’t give her name. she was Young Blond girl with really curly hair! We will never shop here again. I will advise anyone reading this comment to take their hard earned money someplace else. IF I could rate them lower I would rate them Pier ZERO !!!

Customer service needs an overhaul. Manager needs to learn that customer service is key and if you can’t offer it, people won’t shop at your store. My husband and I were in last weekend and wanted to buy a piece of furniture. Our experience stunk. We have shopped at Pier One in Fresno previously and were NOT impressed. Now we won’t go back. Two stars for the gals who have helped in the past. Too bad they aren’t managers. Get off your high horse, lady. It’s just Pier One and you aren’t the Queen of Sheba. We used to spend a lot in that store and having purchased a vacay home in a neighboring town, we were just getting started. You blew it. And fyi, to the salesgirl who I asked about the coasters: When a customer asks if you have additional items, don’t say, «We probably don’t have them in the back so it’s not really worth checking.» You don’t know that for sure and even if you are right, it’s best to check anyway; it’s called CUSTOMERSERVICE. I asked you to check and you were gone all of 7 seconds. I bet you never even looked. UGH

The service here is fantastic. There were some drapes on clearance that I absolutely loved, but they didn’t have enough of them so the associate helping me called all over California to try to find more to have them shipped to me(which is expensive, but worth it since the drapes were on a drastic clearance.) She was cheerful and helpful the entire time, including calling me to update me on which stores had what. It was a lot of extra work I am sure, but she never seemed even the slightest bit impatient. Some of their stuff can be a little pricey, but it is all so cute. They also have sales that can make things much more affordable. Great customer service and stuff I love, this is definitely a good store to visit when you are decorating.

My life would be complete if I could decorate my entire home with items found in Pier 1! Every employee I have encountered at this store has been very helpful and courteous. Every time I have visited, I have always gotten stellar customer service and even when I don’t need assistance I have always been asked if I had any questions.
The employees are also never pushy about suggesting sale items or trying to get me to sign up for a credit card.(If I got a Pier 1 card, my credit score would indeed suffer! Can’t control myself!)
I mean, where else would I get my feathered napkin rings or large weathered steamer trunks?

Its pier one. If you have been to one you have been to them all. Everyone knows they carry slightly higher pricetags for merchandise you can find at Target but sometimes there are a few things I dont mind paying for. Actually I found the Mardi gras mask I plan on wearing on 2011 here from italy for 30 $ its an awesome mask. So if you like what you see in their ads you will find it here. Its not cheap but its not ridiculous. Service is what most retail places are like. I think everyone knows pretty much what to expect when they are coming here.

Very crowded, very pricey, but they do have some nice things. I have purchased a number of items here and just recently a cushion for my porch chair. I had driven all over town looking for that cushion and they were the only store that had one. Only one, but that was all I needed. Service can be iffy.
