«Happiest place on earth for Indians» is what most Indians would feel when they find this store, its just like Disneyland or Hamburger is to most Americans when they travel to other foreign countries, its something familiar and close to heart, is basically what Im referring to, a closer feel to the place we miss most, «a place we call home». Fresno is about 8,600 miles away from India, yet the moment I paced my foot into this extensive Indian speciality grocery cum mini indian delicacy deli, I felt as if I just stepped my way into India and left Fresno behind. It safe to say, Indians: ‘welcome home’ and for foreigners welcome to the exotic land of Indian temporarily. I do understand the suffering of trying to find the things and groceries«we» the foreigner call our everyday groceries here in the foreign soil of US, and Im happy to tell all Indian’s in Fresno, that this is the place you can shop for everything Indian. Everything from your typical snacks(think maggi), serious assortment of desserts and sweets(gulab jamun and etc), toiletries(think henna), everyday indian fresh and dried groceries, pots and pans, plates and silverware, even a quick meal(in-store restaurant) — I imagine it as being their McDonalds, since they sell quick to go indian snack and light meals like dosa, idli and etc. This medium sized Indian grocery store is humble in size not as huge as a Costco or food max, its not even as big as trader Joe’s; however its inventory is seriously extensive for a store this big, they probably carry more stuff than costco in Indian terms. I have been to other indian groceries in town, and this is by far the widest and most complete selection I’ve seen, and may I add in a very organized manner. Its also very clean and all their produce is fresh. The only lagging grocery here is possibly meat and fish, but this is not the place I come for my animals, because I could go to costco for that, but when I come here, I come here for the exotic vegetables like methi, bhindi, and saag, also fresh tummeric, garlic, ginger, onions and other plant based food. Their price is actually quite good and really affordable, Indians are known to be thrifty, and this place tries to cater to its major customer which is Indians, therefor their price-line is in the affordable to cheap; but for those Indians out there, don’t expect the prices here to be like in India, that is impossible to beat. Just be happy you can find all the exotic stuff right here in this store. Overall the perfect store for Indian in Fresno looking for groceries and also the prefect stop for others who attempts to cook Indian food from scratch and trying to find the authentic indian silverware and kitchen utensils.

I like this place. I had their samosas. Very yummy. Also chat and aloo parathey are good. I don’t care for their tikis(patato patties. way too salty). Good place to buy ur desi groceries. The owner is very nice. Once I bought a white marble spice grinder and it had a crack in it. I used it and it broke. I took it back and the owner was so nice and exchanged it without the receipt. I bought plenty of spices, naans, and other stuff.

Rude man at the register — will not be going there again. It’s back to my favorite Standard Sweets and Spices on Dakota!

We are new to Fresno and were hungry for some fast Indian food, just as those India Sweet and Spices markets in LA. Well, this place is not those, nor close. The veggies were clearly taken out of frozen packages, the papadan bread was greasy, everything super salty, and withered. The prices? A bit too much for what they serve you. They need another cook!

BESTINDIANFOOD I’VEEVERHADINMYLIFE. Grew up in LA and currently live in the Bay Area, this is still my favorite Indian establishment hands down(food wise). Factors that played into this claim: * It’s super good. * Cheap prices, but not the quality/amount of food * Made by little Indian ladies(home cooked food status) * Vegetarian/Vegan friendly I’ve never been to India but I really feel like this is the closest I’ll get to a traditional Indian meal. The people who own the place are extremely friendly. It’s not an actual restaurant, but there is a small sit down area by the ordering window. You have to make your way to the back of the market, and once you do you just put in your order with someone who speaks minimal English which I think is fun(also a good way to indicate you’re going to get authentic food). When I go back to visit Fresno, I’ll definitely be stopping by this place for a guaranteed good meal.
