The food was so good, the prices are probably maybe a dollar more then most Mexican restaurants, the staff is super polite and professional I went with my son and my fiancé bill came out to 60 $ for a kids enchilada combo plate, 2 shrimp tacos, 1 regular michelda, 1 super michelda(the one with the 22 shrimp), 1 Chile reneno, plate of beans, plate of rice, plate of guacamole, and a soda

Ahhhh, the hype, the hype! For the past year or so I’ve heard from several people on how BOMB this place is. Well, I had to take the Pepsi challenge and really it was simple just«OK». Surprisingly though it was very busy for being a lunch hour on a Tuesday. As I skimmed through the menu I notice nearly every plate was over $ 12 – 14 dollars. Not lunch friendly at all. Come people it’s rice, beans and about 2 oz of some type of meat. Considering that I eat nearly every 3 – 4 hours I hate spending that much on my lunch, but whatever. Upon arriving we were advised to sit anywhere we wanted and our servers immediately brought us chips, salsa and re-fried beans. The chips were good but I was not a fan of the beans or salsa. Beans were bland and the salsa had no kick to it and extremely watery :(I ordered the two chile verde enchiladas combo plate which came with rice and beans. We received our food within 10 minutes, not bad. Each plate was pipping was hot off the burner. The enchiladas were very flavorful and not too skimpy on the chicken either(. The rice and beans lacked major TLC, especially the rice(whack) I can make Spanish rice with my eye closed and this rice was very similar to a rice you would find at Del Taco. What really turned me off about this place is how freaking hot it was inside there. It was 95 degrees on 10/13/2015 and had to be a minimum of 85 degrees in the restaurant??! Sadly this was my fist time here, but I visited the location on 6th and Shaw for Father’s Day and it was unbearable hot in there too! My colleague had ordered a shrimp cocktail and within minutes the cup and cocktail were luke warm(gross). I thought the services was very good, and that’s what saved them from a 2-Star review. They were fast, friendly and catering to our needs. As we ran out of soda/chips, they immediately brought us more. Also the restaurant was well kept and clean. Being located on the South East part of town I did expect a little bit more authentic food, but nope. I do know this place is know for it’s seafood and Mariachi’s on Fridays and Sunday but I don’t think I would take the time to drive out here for seafood. Respectfully a solid 3 stars.

Carne asada tacos were a decent size for the price but the meat was too over cooked – too chewy. The beans tasted funny, like it’s been sitting out – but the flan was really good. The waitress forgot my husband’s michelada, we didn’t remind her cause she didn’t come back to check in on us after serving our meal. There was one particular waiter that was nice to stir up a conversation – wish he was our waiter, but overall service was lacking from the other waitress. Overall, not coming back and rather go drive across town, straight to tacos tj.

I had the carnitas tacos and asada tacos they were both pretty tasty. The salsa was mediocre no real spice to it but didn’t taste bad. The taco shells homemade and taste very good. I’ll have to come back and try some other food. They had a mariachi band playing while I was waiting for my food. Overall I would eat here again

The foods good, but the pricing is bad, what’s advertised on the menu isn’t actual size, I ordered a mixed platter appetizer for 2 and the plate was barley big enough to feed 1. And it’s was over $ 20! The waiters are bitter and don’t tend very well. Only talked to the guy 3 times and twice was cause I had to call him over. The potential is there but the over all experience isn’t Good.

I ordered the burrito asada and it took a like 15min to get it. Longer than expected. I was greeted nicely from a waitress, but the customers inside and other workers inside were staring at me. It’s like they’ve never seen an Hmong person before. It was really uncomfortable, but I just took it to go and food tasted fine. Nothing too special, just good. I like how they cook the asada meat to crisp grilled and not the watered down cooked asada meats. Food was a little pricey for the area too.

Brought my family here on recommendation of friends! We loved everything about it! We got seated right away, got our drinks pretty fast and got our food even quicker than normal! The waiter was very attentive. Everyone enjoyed all the food and environment. Totally a Mexican authentic restaurant. Would definitely go again and again

For some reason my review has been taken down. HMMMWELLL worst service EVER. I called in to make an order they set the phone down FOR15MINUTES. At this time, while still being on the phone, I drove to the Taco Bell next door, got my food, drove over to the restaurant, walked in with my taco bell and told them to hang up their phone. It had been nearly a half hour by now. They told me I wasn’t on their phone. Funny I showed you YOURNUMBER on my phone and COULDHEARYOUTALKINGRIGHTINFRONTOFMEOVERMYPHONE. Totally unapologetic and denied it even when I SHOWEDYOUYOUROWNPHONENUMBER!!! PS your salsa sucks almost as bad as your live band.

We went on a Friday night with some friends to find out that they were closing at 10:00pm. Our food was cold and we were the last ones there. As we were eating about 5 employees were sweeping the entire resturant which I thought was pretty rude because we were still eating. They were then put up all chairs on the tables all around making us feel extremely rushed. That was my 2nd time there and my last as well

Tasty food, but noisy live music and bad service is sour. I really want to give this place four stars but it has many things to work on and some Unilocalers we’re absolutely on point. When we were first seated the waitresses weren’t lazy but we’re very distracted and don’t know how to multitask. Took us 30 minutes to get our drinks and an hour more to get our food. I’ll give them a little bit of mercy on this review since we were a party of 10. Okay now the food was on point, everything had flavor and love into it. Price was a bit on the heavy side but definitely worth it. Drinks were mediocre and all for show, highly expensive the Patron(shrimp) Modelo drinks were very pretentious with a price tag of $ 12.00 and $ 19.00 for the bigger mug version. Horchata wasn’t the best and that’s a bummer. The worst thing about this was the live(Banda) it was a non-stop eardrum death machine. Don’t get me wrong I grew up in a old-school type of family but since I am a third generation I don’t really like hearing pounding music in a small building while eating with my family. Other than that I will return but hopefully they tame the music and return someday that is not the weekend so it won’t be that packed. I checked that there is a East Shaw second location in Fresno, might check it out. I rate this place 3.0 for food only.

It was all good till a cockroach jumps out off my friends Agua Chiles. That was the funniest thing ever. But yet gross. Kind off have remorse finishing my plate(which was bomb) and then watch the roach pop out. Lol. Eh!

Their food is very authentic compared to every other Mexican restaurant around(not including castillos) the food was great! The tacos de carne Assad are delicious! This place seem to be packed every weekend. so be prepared to wait! They have live music which is awesome– if you like Mexican music. $ 10 a song. They didn’t get 1 star because our waitress was really lacking customer service skills. She forgot about my drink. my chips & my plate. the other servers were great on helping us & asking if we needed anything else but she was awful! I ended up giving her tip to a different waiter who actually helped us out.

Nice environment, wasn’t impressed with customer service, the quality of food, and the prices! I went with a group of 6 and without any written notification, gratuity was charged. On top of that, the waitress and cashier incorrectly charged us all. Our meal prices didn’t match the prices on the menu. She insisted that the prices were correct. The enchiladas were dry. I ordered shrimp enchiladas and there were more mushrooms in the enchiladas than shrimp. The shrimp enchilada should’ve been called mushroom enchilada. The food was overly priced for what it was.

Gotta say I was impressed here! Beer was awesome, but that’s all I had I can’t wait to come back to try the food I had a cerveza de patron and that got me pretty full with all the shrimp and it burned my ass cuz it was super spicy :) but all that aside I will be back because although I’m a Mexican who can’t speak English and I had no clue what the waitress was saying I’m curios about the food.

Wow I don’t know exactly what to say. First of all, the food, the staff, and the dining hall is spectacular! The atmosphere is amazing and makes me feel like right at home. You walk in and it feels as if you walked into the heart of Mexico! Thursday nights are the funnest because of the music and karaōke. I will highly be coming back here again! Food straight out of Mexico! Excellent service!

I wanted to try this place and find out what was the all the fuss about, every time it would drive by this place was packed and people waiting outside to get in. So I stopped this morning and tried the tostada mixta and a michelada, it was good but not awesome It was list like any other. Food and service didn’t impress so I’ll give it 3 stars.
