Since Unilocal removed my last update I will try this again. I had a coffee craving and decided to run to my go-to spot. Pulled up to the drive up and noticed the ordering sign was gone. Pulled up to the window and found a sign stating that they closed due to lack of business. Rather disappointed as they had great service and great coffee. They sort of up and closed without warning too. They were pushing sales of gift cards during Christmas, yet closed within 12 days of the holiday. Seems like a a rather crappy thing to do. I almost bought one myself as they were offering a free large drink with purchase of $ 20 gift card. They will be missed, it’s too bad they didn’t have a better location within the mall. That likely added to their lack of business.

Finally a great coffee shop in town! The drinks tasted very similar to the Java Planet drinks; if you liked that coffee shop before they closed; you’ll like this one!

WIFISUCKS. I went there because it’s quite and would be a great place for homework/study. But couldn’t get the wifi to work. Try if the wifi works before you buy any drinks if you plan to do some online hw there.

I got so excited seeing a coffee shop go into this area and even more pleased when it wasn’t a typical chain! This location serves(delicious) gelato, breakfast sandwiches, pastries and some of the best coffee options I’ve had. Their blended drinks have flavors such as snickerdoodle, snickers, Oreo and more! Their premium coffee is on point. I typically add a flavor shot to my coffee but don’t need it here… its smooth and has a good bold flavor. Nice sitting area for studying or meeting up for a quick chat with a friend. Their staff is extremely friendly and patient as I drool over which drink to try next :) The staff understands they work at a unique coffee spot so are more than happy to make suggestions off of your likes. I come away impressed with this place after each visit! Highly recommend giving them a shot and you’ll become a regular as well!

HELLO! Helloo! hellooo! This place is empty! There are tons of tables inside and out, but no patrons. Somebody didn’t do their homework because this is not a good location for an unknown coffee shop. A Starbucks would draw a crowd, but Fresno has too many of those. Plus there is way better coffee out there. Personally, I’m pulling for a Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf. But back to Java Detour. They have made great efforts to make this location inviting, seats, games, snacks, along with the usual coffee house essentials, pastries, muffins, etc. Now, for the coffee. I ordered a Mexican coffee. I wanted it hot. Even asked if they could do it, as its on the blended drinks menu. They said they could. It came blended lol. I typically expect Mexican coffee drinks to use Ybarra or Abuelita chocolate. Here, I taste cinnamon, honey and chocolate syrup. There is nothing special about it. I should have tried the white mocha. It’s pretty much my benchmark for a good coffee shop, but next time. Back to the location. It is at the far end of phase 1 of El Paseo. At some point, the will build a phase 2, hopefully. At that point, Java Detour will be smack dab in the middle of the shopping center. Then, I will be singing the praises of the owners for having the foresight(and balls) to strategically place themselves here.

Had a caramel macchiato and it was made exactly like I wanted! Plus it’s closer to home.

this place has unique drink selection and a super nice staff. This was my second time here and I have to say, I am a Java Detour junkie now! While I am more prone to only order ice tea, they have so many blended drinks and a vast selection to choose from. Coffee Drinks: So far I have tried the Chunky Monkey blended mocha, Mexican blended mocha and the German Chocolate blended mocha. All were very rich and true to their names. The richest one was the German Chocolate, that is a dessert in itself. For Ice tea: I get an XL ½ black ½ green tropic passion tea. So refreshing! Since I do not like«sweet» tea, but I love natural«flavored» tea, this is exactly what I have been searching for her in the Central Valley! Also, the staff is very sweet, helpful and very patient.

Really friendly and helpful staff. I went through the drive thru and ordered an iced«Snickers bar» drink. Really good however, very sweet. What I did to offset that was take it home(since it was just a test run of the business and not like I was on the way to work), poured it into a larger cup and added milk to it to dilute some of the sweetness. Delicious! I also ordered a raspberry muffin as I was told that they’re home baked. That was great too. I like this place and wish them much success. It’s about time that there is an alternative to the Starbucks on Golden State or the other one located inside TARGET. Prices are comparable to Starbucks or Dutch Bros. The drive thru is unique in that it’s divided with another restaurant. Overall, it’s worth a try.

Figured I would give this place a shot. Needed something different from the normal Starbucks. I would highly recommend a visit to this establishment. The staff was extremely friendly! They have a great selection on their menu and their drinks had great flavor. I ordered the Funky Monkey(banana, peanut butter and coffee blended drink). I will definitely be back again!!!

It’s nice to have a coffee spot close by that is not Starbucks. I enjoy the variety of drinks. They are a little pricey but you get what you pay fair. It is a good balance for the price. I recommend walking in to get your coffee, it seems like it is made better versus the drive thru.

So happy we have our own coffe spot that is not dutch brothers or starbucks. Always friendly and fast prices are great too. I love the iced expresso with non fat and 2 pumps of classic. So delicious and way better than the two places I don’t care to mention again. Drive thru is a bonus

«Finally! some new coffee place that just opened up in Fresno that isn’t Starbucks», would be the first thing you hear me saying when I get into a place like this. Sure Java detour isn’t Starbucks, but it surely isn’t some hip coffee place like kuppa joy either that makes perfect late with the art that I fondly love. For those of you who enjoy those mixed coffee drinks and concoction, this is like a shiny new beacon of hope other than dutch bros, because this place does make gourmet quality coffee concoction and drinks. Its located next to the robertitos by the way for those of you trying to look for it, its pretty hidden in this new shiny shopping centre. What I love about this place is the large number of sturdy dining table and chairs that everyone can sit and work or socialize at, however this place lacks sofas and also work bars for people on the solo and in need of home comfort at a coffee store. They do offer free wifi, which translates to great working place and studying. Additionally they also have merchandise for purchase, like coffee makers, mugs and cups. Their service is friendly and genuine and their menu option is pretty good and is fairly priced for the quality. I tried their hot chocolate $ 1.35 and their vietnamese iced coffee $ 2.45(medium size 20oz). I did make sure to customize my drinks to be less sweet, so it did turn out great. The vietnamese coffee had the oomph i needed to wake up, while their hot chocolate was nice and chocolaty yet creamy. Now as I mentioned this place isn’t exactly Kuppa Joy, so don’t expect like an amazing out of this world drink, but if you enjoy dutch bros, this place could compete I guess. They also have drive thru, which makes it perfect for that quick drop in for gourmet coffee. Overall I would be back here. Right now they are in their soft opening, so there will be errors and mistakes that they would learn but here is my suggestion to make it better: 1. Have a bar area with charge plugs for laptops, or maybe even a USB socket for iPhones, that always convenient. 2. Have comfortable sofas and chairs to make it inviting and comfortable. 4. More painting art or mural art on the walls would give this place a character and fun appeal.
