I usually order the no calorie noodle with #70 or #71, today they tell me they dont do that… only for phở. So I explained that I always get the no calorie noodles with that dish and the waitress said really ok let me go check… she leaves to go talk to the cook and comes back to tell me, «sorry, but the cook said she did that for you before but now can not do it.» I asked why, she said we dont have no more noodle… hahaha funny she didn’t mention that to me at all. Well ofcourse, but if I order phở they have wonder noodles… lmao… poor service. JACK the owner needs to talk to his employees! Oh to too it off, i got my tea last after my kids got all their food and boba drinks…

This location specializes in the Bún Bò Hué, which is a slightly spicy beef noodle soup. I come to this location specifically for this dish because it’s not offered at the other location. However, both locations are owned by the same owner. Huong Lan offers great Vietnamese sandwiches but because I’ve gone to both locations(other is on Fresno street and First near fashion fair mall) and I would say the location actually makes the sandwiches better as the bread is always perfectly toasted there. This is critical in nailing the Vietnamese Sandwich. What is Bún Bò Hué? In my opinion, it’s better than Phở. I’m Vietnamese and have been eating authentic Vietnamese cuisine my whole life and I simply think that Phở is overrated– although it’s good, I prefer Bún Bò Hué over Phở any day because in this spicy beef noodle dish, the noodles are thicker and the broth is much more flavorful. This Huong lan location serves excellent broth, it’s very good and flavorful. Tastes right and is one of my favorite parts. The corn beef is good, although this time it didn’t meet the tenderness and softness of my standards. I’ve been other times and they usually get it right so it must have just been this time. I get the Bún Bò Hué without the dark brown cubes because being Vietnamese I know what it is and I’m just not a fan, but I would try it if you haven’t. The corn beef, and lighter meat is enough to satisfy me as they have a variety in this dish. My favorite sandwich to get at Huong lan is the #1 :)

Good Phở, but some of the best Vietnamese sandwiches you’re going to find in Fresno.

Excellent phở near airport. There are many Vietnamese places in Fresno. huong Lan is a nice space with a takeout counter and sit in. Great broth and generous serving of beef in beef and flank phở. Spring rolls were large also.

I usually go to their sister store in North Fresno but made the trip to this location because I saw they serve Bun Bo Hue. Bun Bo Hue is one of my favorite comfort foods and it made the trip worth its while. Unfortunately everything else fell short. This place is kinda… dingy. Maybe it’s the paint or the décor but despite being the new location, it felt really run down inside. There were flies everywhere so that didn’t exactly create the most appetizing atmosphere. The service definitely doesn’t compare to its northern counterpart. Instead of being prompt and attentive, I was left wondering why it took us so long to place an order when the restaurant was almost empty. 3 stars for the tasty bun bo hue that curbed my craving, but I’ll stick to my usual spot and hope that they add the dish to their menu soon.

Always good. I always come with my boyfriend, but the other day I brought my father and he loved the phở. My boyfriend always gets either the chicken and rice or the pork chop and rice(you can’t go wrong with either). I always order the small crispy egg rolls every time I go, it’s my favorite.

This is place great if you love Vietnamese sandwiches. The egg rolls are amazing and the phở is a little pricey and just alright. The employees are a little snotty and just do what they are there for and nothing more. Wish I could give a 4 because the food is good, But the service lacks.

Ordered a sandwich & wonton soup, specifically asked for no onions. The sandwich was great but the wonton soup meat smelled fowl & all the onions were at the bottom of the bowl when I had asked for no onions. I went to the restroom and asked my husband to tell the waitress. When I came out I was pretty upset because she said there’s nothing she could do about it to my husband. Manager gave me a refund but after I was persistent & pretty upset. I have had food poisoning at Phở places before & won’t tolerate it again. Food is not the most authentic as it’s a chain but I went here because I thought it was clean. Changed my mind on the clean part now.

I always order to-go. My experience here today was pretty good. Ordered two #7 sandwiches to go and they’re bomb as always. So give it a try if you haven’t already. I was greeted upon entering the door. The cashier was friendly and got the order done as quick as he could. I had my sandwiches in less than 5 minutes and according to what I wanted, which was one with no jalapeño and the other wth extra. The atmosphere in the morning when I came was not as busy as usual due to being only 11 am and a Sunday, so not too many customers were here.(Which is a good thing for me because I get quick and fresh food). Always looking to come back because no place beats this place. You get all the meat and vegetables portioned very well. The sandwich is sooooo delicious! I’ll be back in a week or so.

Huong Lan is not the most authentic vietnamese place in town, its kind of a fusion between vietnamese with Chinese flavors. So don’t expect like the most authentic vietnamese flavors when you come here, however with that said, they do have a huge variety of tasty banh mi(vietnamese sandwich), and rice plates. I must also say that the food here is not amazing, but its pretty decent if your craving for some vietnamese-ish food. Huong Lan is a chain of south east asian sandwich shop with stores all across northern California. My recommendation if this happens to be your first visit, is to order the BBQ pork banh mi and the #67(special huong lan rice plate), because those two things are tasty. This location is not my favorite, because it mirrors the image of a cheap asian hospital cafeteria comparison to its other location in north fresno which has nicer seating and interior. The location itself is within a huge shopping centre, so its kinda hidden, and the interior is very typically asian, no effort to begin with. But they do have ample of seating and the service is pretty much the same as their northern branch. I would do takeout instead of dine in, if you are doing take out, call them 10 – 20 minutes ahead, so your food with be ready when you arrive. Their BBQ pork banh mi $ 3.99 was delicious and huge, although I was disappointed with the lack of lemongrass marinated pork or beef with their banh mi which is the authentic flavors from Vietnam; they have like 12 – 15 varieties, yet not one of their sandwich offering is marinated with lemongrass. Their BBQ pork is similar to the Chinese Char Siu, therefore putting them closer to the Chinese menu than vietnamese. The sandwich is filled with cucumber, daikon pickles, jalapeños slices, coriander leaves, BBQ pork and mayo. All of those fillings is sandwiched in between soft and chewy baguette. I still prefer the banh mi from Saigon deli because the flavors is the best, but this place is pretty good too. Their $ 8.99 combination fried rice was good, but not the best I’ve tasted, the best combination fried rice would be Ho Ho café in downtown Fresno. The fried rice is in huge portion here, perfect to be shared in-between 2 people, the flavors again tasted more like Chinese fried rice than vietnamese, but the overall flavor has a nice balance of saltiness, savoriness and spiciness. There was chunk of meats from chinese sausage, small shrimp and scrambled eggs. I would have preferred if it had chunks of beef, chicken and huge shrimp. Overall its a decent place for vietnamese-ish foods cravings. Its still in my opinion more Chinese than vietnamese, just an opinion since I’m from south east Asia, and I understand and love these food like the back of my hand.

I’ve had many of their dishes and they are all fantastic. My personal favorite is the Thai fried rice. I always order it when I come here. First time dining at this location, I usually go to one on Fisrt. and Shaw. Happy to see one close to home, I’ll be coming here more often.

Me and hubby stopped by earlier today for a quick brunch. Order the 2 small beef phở and springrolls. Everything tasted fresh! For the price of the quality and cleanliness of the place… I say it’s well worth it. Hubb said he’s found his new phở place to go and best springrolls by far here in fresno. Their sandwiches are very good too. I like the teriyaki one. Will be returning as a regular

The food was good and I would give it 4 stars. The service I would give 4 stars ad well. We were almost done eating when we saw a cockroach scurrying by on the floor! Then glanced over and saw a dead roach on the floor. Needless to say, won’t be back.

Not many places in town serve bun bo hue(spicy vietnamese beef noodle soup) so when I heard they served it here, I had to try. I actually didn’t even go into the restaurant– placed an order for pick up and had my bf get it for me on his way home. Broth flavor was good(a tad bit sweet) and I actually was able to taste a bit of the lemongrass! It wasn’t super oily like some of the other place Ive experienced. I proceeded to add in the chili oil, shrimp paste(i prefer my broth to be a bit saltier than how it came) and a squeeze of lemon. It came with a good amount of mixed veggies which I happily tossed into my bowl. Portion size was really good. It had plenty of noodles, veggies and meat. I ordered mine without the blood cubes(way too authentic for me). It had a slice of fish cake, some tendon, slices of beef, an ox tail(gasp!) and a portion of pig(knuckle? feet? leg?). All the meats where perfectly tender and meat fell off the bone. The pig skin wasn’t too tough either. It was just the right amount of chewy. All in all, I really enjoyed this dish and will probably be back next time I have a craving for it. This dish is only available(for now) at the kings canyon location :(

Came here for lunch with hubby and the kids. We were seating fast, even though the place was clearly busy for lunch. Our server was nice, we took longer than we should to make our selections(I was actually the hold up, everything sounded good and I couldn’t decide). Hubby and daughter ordered soups, hubby also got a sandwich, I got the noodles, the little guy got a bbq chicken sandwich(ordered special«nothing green on it please» LOL) I’ll start with the bbq sandwich, because that thing looked sooooo good I was almost upset I didn’t get it too. The bread looked and smelled so yummy, there was a ton of chicken stuffed inside. I was lucky enough to sneak a little piece and it was so juicy and soft. Yum! My little guy devoured the entire thing and talked about how good it was. My husband and daughter were pleased with their soups(I even had a bite of each and can agree that the soup base was perfect). My noodles were delish, the thing I love about Vietnamese food is how flesh and fragrant it always tastes. This was on par with the best. My only complaint would be with my dish, I ordered the noodles with pork and the pork was a little fatty. It also didn’t look very nice on the plate(my hubby said something about it looking like a «mystery meat») It tasted ok, but like I said, a bit on the fatty(and not in the good way, in the grisly way). All in all, we would return and I would recommend the restaurant, so check it out. =D

Tried this place out because I was in a hurry and really wanted something quick and easy to eat. They do take-out orders, which is great and really convenient. On top of that, I’m so used to having to drive a couple of miles to get to a Vietnamese restaurant and this location is great for me, and for the neighborhood. I walked in and was promptly greeted. The environment is clean and the employees are very punctual and pleasant. The menu selection is really good. I liked the variety of Vietnamese sandwiches they had. There are so many options! Very delicious sandwiches! I ordered a sandwich and also ordered a combination plate that came with rice, meat and a small salad. I was very pleased with the quality of both the service and food. I haven’t tried the phở, and I do look forward to trying it soon. The prices of the sandwiches were great, I must say, even the plate selection was exciting to me! The order took about 10 minutes to get to me and I will definitely come back here again to try the rest of the menu! Glad to see a place like this on this side of town.

Just finished eating here for the first time and it was absolutely splendid. The food was hot, fresh, and tasty. The atmosphere is very comfortable, gave the impression of a well kept family owned business. The place was clean and service was fast and friendly. I can’t say enough good things about this place. And the best part is it’s location; it is probably one of the only places that serves food of culture in south east Fresno. I went here with my girlfriend, and we had two bowls of Phở, with some boba tea and coconut cakes for dessert. All for around 25 dollars. I’ll be back soon you can guarantee that. It’s Phoking awesome.

Excellent food!!! Always good and great service. So happy I don’t have to go out to their other location near the mall as Shaw Ave. is sometimes unbearable. Absolutely love their spring rolls because I can opt out of the shrimp or pork and they are soooo fast getting the good out to you.
