This place has the best selection of middle eastern/Armenian groceries in the valley. I’ve been coming here for over 20 years now and it seems like we always make a stop whenever I am in Fresno to stock up on pita bread and other supplies. Most everyone here is very friendly and helpful. I realize the gentleman owner isn’t the outgoing type, but he isn’t rude at all. I haven’t eaten from the deli so I can’t comment on the quality of their sandwiches. But, as far as selection goes, it’s pretty extensive and the prices are reasonable. It’s the only place I ever shop for Mediterranean groceries.

Any visit to Fresno for me always includes a stop here, and certainly not for the ambiance. I stock up on the best string cheese, tahini, pita bread and various other authentic delicacies carried here.

Good selection of items. They had everything I needed for my fattoush salad. Not impressed with customer service. I was literally ignored by the gentlemen cashier. Me:hello Him: I hand him my card. Him:debit or credit? Me: debit please Him: Hands card back and items in back. Me: okay thank you! Him:

Under the circumstances that most ethnic stores aren’t that great with organization and making their store look appealing, Fresno Deli would fall into the category for one of the most organized Middle Eastern, Mediterranean and Rusian markets around Fresno, they also happen to be a deli that sells fresh food and also sells Halal beef, chicken and lamb, and yes they are credit card, debit card and cash friendly The selection of goods is quite extensive, they sell fresh and frozen meats, can and jar goods, fresh vegetables, fresh cheese, some prepared food, hookah or shisha essentials, fresh lavash and pita bread, and so much more. Its quite the complete store for everything from the region I mentioned. They even sell pots, glasses, pans and even bar of soaps from the middle east. The store is pretty big, and in my opinion the most organized compared to its other competition — probably not to the american standard, but for an ethnic groceries its pretty nicely done. There is plenty of parking here, both credit card and debit card is accepted here and of course the good old cash. Prices here is quite affordable and nothing is too pricey. I normally spend anywhere from $ 10 – 20 here for a lot of things. If you need something specific I would give them a call first, just to check before coming. The store clerk in nice, but the Armenian kinda hostile nice– sort of weird in my opinion, where they don’t look at you or greet you as you enter, but they aren’t rude or anything, Im guessing its their cultural norm to do that, so I just of along with it, all Im saying is that aren’t the chirpy and bubbly american style of service. However, if you need anything, they will be helpful to locate it.

Love the stuffed grape leaves, babaganoush(sp?), string cheese, hummus, lahmajoon, olives. Great selection of all middle eastern staples(FOUR sizes of bulgur, many types of feta…) A real neighborhood gem.

Absolutely love this place! The wraps are amazing and the people are nice! I do have to say that service is quite slow during Lunch and dinner hours and wait time can be 15 minutes. But soo worth the wait!

I have enjoyed shopping here over the years for Armenian Food. A couple days ago, I went here and as I was up at the counter to pay, I smelled some delicious aroma of coffee beans. I thought… why not? So I got a pound, had them grind it for me, and I am currently enjoying a fresh cup. So in a nutshell, great place for bread, veggies, cheeses, meats, and now… coffee! Its no wonder that places like this have stayed open for so many years. They have good food, and a nice small business welcoming feel. They even have shopping carts for convenience-nice touch.

My family has been coming to this business for several years. We have since moved out of Fresno and continue to stop in every time we’re in town. They have a wide range of Armenian and other Eastern Europe specialties. The staff is inviting, and will help you with whatever you may need or have questions about. I highly recommend this business and will continue to visit it every chance I get.

I have been coming here a few times per year for quite some time. A jewel of an ethnic market in Fresno. An abundance of items that are too many to list. Yalanchis and Lamajoon are to die for(not sure I spelled correctly). Produce, if you time it right, is amazing…

Deli has a half dozen varieties of olives, at a third to half the cost at whole foods. More in jars. Deli has four nations represented in the feta cheese, more in the refrigerator section. Great selection of grains, beans, spices at reasonable prices. Good prices for Olive oil, cheeses, jarred goods. Best falafel sandwich in town.

They are so friendly here, particularly the sweet lady who always helps me out at the deli counter. They have a great selection of cheeses, 4 kinds of feta if I recall correctly. You can shop for the majority of your basic Middle Eastern/Mediterranean/Armenian food necessities. Most things are reasonably priced. I’ve picked up some great Greek olive oil out of their moderate selection of olive oils.

I’m still a fan of this place, but my bank shut down my debit card after I used it here. The bank indicated this card had been compromised but wouldn’t specify the vendor, but it’s pretty easy to deduce which vendor when this is the only place I used it.

This is a cool store and has a great deli in the back. The sandwiches are rolled up instead of in sub bread. Really fresh(the veggies were crunchy) and great tasting. What I like about a deli, is if it has its own character, not only in the surrounding environment, but in the sandwich itself. It is a great price for what you get on the deli sandwich. I am definitely going back there for more sandwiches at this deli. The many store products are awesome as well. It has a good selection of frozen, refrigerated, canned, and dried ethnic grocery products.

Been meaning to Unilocal this spot with 5 stars for a while now and just hadn’t gotten around to it… here it is… I haven’t had a whole lot of Meditteranean/Middle Eastern food in my time but i can tell when ANYTHING is fresh and made with love. This spot has great eats from made-to-order sandwiches to Yalanchi to the best Fallafel I’ve had in Fresno. They carry a nice assortment of meats and cheeses including a delicious French Feta that I love and even a variety of olives. The owner’s are friendly and courteous and always happy to share some of their culture through the foods they are preparing and serving. They have a few different options for Lahmajoon and they must go through those pretty fast because they’re always fresh. Order ahead if your stopping in during lunchtime… Outside seating… and seriously, try the Falaffel!

Seriously the best string cheese I’ve had. We buy these to take to my office and all us girls munch it down so quickly. Great selection of breads… haven’t tried anything besides the cheese and bread, but everything looks so good. The people who work there are so nice and always welcoming. Go here for string cheese!

Here I am, finally getting around to updating my first review on Unilocal. When I first starting Unilocaling, I wasn’t sure how many people would be interested in a Middle-Eastern specialty store, so that’s why I focused mainly on the hookah, which seemed to be one of the few things Americans like about Middle-Eastern culture. Anyway, I’ll put it like this– While European-Americans may be satisfied with Trader Joe’s brand Hummus, for all the Armenian-Americans, Lebanese-Americans, Iranian-Americans, etc. we have Fresno Deli. It’s a humble little store, but it’s got great imported foods you can’t find anywhere else. I like that that they have prepared food such as Lemehjun that all you have to do is put in the oven. My family doesn’t make it often because it’s a little time-consuming to make, so picking it up here is a win. You may be unfamiliar with a lot of the stuff here, but if you do decide to check this place out, at least pick up a jar of pickles. You won’t be eating Vlasic or any other American brands ever again. The guy working the register(he’s the owner) may look a bit pissed off and unapproachable, but don’t be scurred now, I promise he’s a really cool guy if you have any questions. Like I mentioned in my previous review, they do have a dedicated hookah section where they sell the pipes, and another section where they have all of the shisha(flavored tobbaco.) In my opinion, they have the greatest selection of shisha in Fresno by far. They have all accessories also, such as extra hoses, heads, coals, anything you might need, really. Oh, and since this place is a Deli, they’ll make you a good sandwich at the meat counter. Unfortunately, it’s just regular deli meats like salami and turkey breast or whatever, but they roll it up in a pita bread and give you some damn good feta cheese. So yeah, if you like Trader Joe’s/Save Mart or whatever«hummus,» for shame… Ignore this review. Go eat Costco’s hummus, it’s the best store bought stuff you can buy, at least. Otherwise, the next time you go to Fashion Fair, make it a point to drive the extra block south to check out Fresno Deli.

Try a roast beef deli sandwich! They make them with pita bread and some delicious little pickles. I would also recommend you grab some of their pita chips and homemade hummus from the deli counter.

Finally visited the Fresno Deli and was surprised at how large it is. As Nick A. noted, a good selection of ME/Armenian foods. Wish I knew what some of it was. .. all the more reason to go back and explore. A limited produce section is also available.
