I love the food here. Been many times. The owners are very nice. The only reason I have not given then 5 stars is because it can take a while to get food. I believe they have not perfected their system yet. I am hopeful they will improve this aspect of their operation. I will repeat and I encourage anyone to come try them. Again the food is awesome!

Came here due to the good reviews on Unilocal.I cannot understand why some people have said this is the best Mediterranean food in Fresno, my opinion is that the food was very bland and uninspired. Marats across the street has ok food but Is more flavorful than the Ark. If your willing to drive farther Phoenician Garden on first and Herndon is really good and Diana’s on west shaw is probably the best in town. The staff here is very friendly and it is clean, wanted to really like it but was disappointed.

4 of us waited an eternity for our food in a Freezing dining area. The food arrived in about 15 to 20 minutes & we all received it several minutes apart. If I were to compare the food to a dozen other Med choices in Fresno… Well. 2 stars. The whole experience was uninspiring.

Restaurant was recommended to me by a Lebanese friend who said the food was very authentic. It is a new place. We came for lunch. They didn’t seem to have the ordering food and delivery of food down in a logical orderly fashion. Many trips to the table to deliver tea mugs, then my husband’s food, then my soup, then my shawarma. Having numbers for each order to place on the table could make customers and staff a bit more comfortable and organized. I had lentil soup and chicken shawarma, my husband had a gyro. Food was good, sauces very good, sandwiches well wrapped(made for ease in eating. My soup was flavorful but tepid. Prices are reasonable. Restaurant clean and nice cared for restrooms. I can’t say that it was the best Mediterranean food I’ve had in Fresno. Will wait a few months to try them again when they some of the bugs worked out.

This was my first time at this place, and I really liked the food! It’s very tasty, the atmosphere is nice, clean, and calm. Very friendly staff. Their prices are very affordable comparing to the taste of the food! Highly recommended

Unfortunately our experience at Ark Mediterranean was sub-par. Aside from the clean environment, the food was underwhelming. We ordered a chicken shawarma wrap and gyro — both took a really long time to be served despite no other orders preceded us. Furthermore, the food came out barely warm, contrary to what we were expecting given the 15 minutes it took to prepare. The flavors and ingredients were average and unmemorable. We decided to cut our lunch, leaving half uneaten.

Update: Got to try the Greek salad with chicken. Amazing! And it’s so much food, a small is extremely filling! This might be my new favorite chicken salad. And the owner was kind enough to give me a discount due to the past mistake on my order. That says a lot about their commitment to customer service and I thank them. We will be back!

Beef shawarma plate was great. Beef was cooked medium well with some spices. The staff was very welcoming and made an extra salad just for one of my family members because they couldn’t eat the cucumber salad. You won’t leave hungry.

I was training at Clovis west high school for USA water polo, and got the chance to try this place out. The customer service was ok, they did get confused on our orders and gave my food to the wrong person, but we figured it out. Ok so the food! I got the gyro, it was fantastic. I really did enjoy the yatziki sauce that came with it. Overall I wish I could have also tried the kabob plate but i can’t eat that much! If your visiting the area and looking for a place to eat, give it s try!

I lalalove this place. I love the chicken kabob. The rice pilaf is always fluffy and flavorful. The pita bread is warm and goes so well with their hummus. And the chicken, ugh, so fresh off the grill and juicy. Never dry. A combo plate comes with a salad, hummus, pita bread, rice and the main protein. It will run you just about $ 12 a plate here. But I always leave happy and full. I’ve tried the beef luleh, the beef, chicken, and the pork chop!

Great food. I’ve had their gyros, beef, chicken, lamb, and pork chops. They were all very tender and all equally delicious. Bulgar Pilaf was very flavorful. Highly recommend this place. Also have to mention the staff were all friendly.

had a hankering for mediterranean food, but didn’t feel like driving too far, so i turned to Unilocal and found Ark right in my ‘hood. went with my family(hubby, teen and 5 y.o.) on friday night around 6:30 and found it had opened in the formerly empty space next to Yo Ranch on Cedar/Champlain & Shepherd. the place was shiny, new, and spotless with a few other people eating. it’s a semi-fast food concept which seems to work well in fresno: you order & pay at the counter, self-serve drink station, and then the food is brought to your table. Ark is set up so you can watch your food being prepared right in front of you on their shiny new stainless steel equipment behind the counter(and a glass barrier). we got the lamb chop plate with rice pilaf($ 15), the combo plate(beef & chicken kabob) with bulgar pilaf($ 13), a gyro sandwich($ 8), and a side of fries($ 2). after about 10 minutes, we got our food and were quite impressed by both the portion sizes as well as the quality of preparation. we got 4 good-sized lamb chops that were perfectly done and 4 pieces each of beef and chicken breast that were well-seasoned and grilled. both plates came with a side of pita wedges and the combo plate came with a side of garlic sauce. the gyro sandwich was also a good-sized portion and came with tzatziki(yogurt sauce — i forget the armenian name for it). hubby declared the fries to be the«best looking fries i’ve ever seen!» and, indeed, were enormous, freshly cut potato wedges served piping hot out of the fryer — a huge serving for only $ 1.99! after talking to our server, we learned Ark is owned and operated by a long-time Armenian family with roots in Fresno for over 30 years. all the employees(except our server that night) were part of this family and were so used to cooking for their large extended family, they decided to close down their car wash business and open a restaurant, instead. we should all be grateful that they did.

It’s good affordable food. I am impressed most of all of their juicy delicious chicken. That is what wowed me and my taste buds. The rice pilaf was good but their hummus was not my favorite. There is nothing necessarily wrong with it but It isn’t so amazingly good that I have to have it. I am just not a big fan of cumin. The staff is courteous and friendly. We asked for a side of butter and feta cheese and the staff was accommodating. We were happy campers :-) The establishment is very clean and fresh looking. There isn’t much seating but somehow they managed to make the place feel welcoming and spacious enough to eat comfortably. Perhaps it’s the color of the walls or the very simple fresh choice in decorating. The kids enjoyed having an option of having already bottled drinks or fountain drinks. The fountain drinks dispenser looks as if it’s the old type of dispenser and not the new fancy touch screen. I don’t know about you but I prefer the older type because the beverages taste better. Overall a good experience.

Food is good but this time I went in to purchase rice pilaf because we were in a hurry and had no time to make it at home. Ordered a large rice pilaf and I specifically said for 4 people. I’m completely angered as to why rice pilaf that’s less than 5 ozs is 5.99 plus tax. Wowzers this is a large? I had to order anther one seeing that a large(meant for 4 people) is barely enough for 1. The look on my face when I asked«this is supposed to be for 4?»

Very good. Went in about 6pm on a Friday and though not full, they were clearly busy. I asked about the wait and was told 20 minutes. I take this as a good sign that my food will be fresh. I watched the staff work while I waited and was impressed by their care as they went about their work. Everyone was wearing gloves. Hair was very short or kept back in a net, so no fear of hair in the food– hubby’s pet peeve. A man whom I assume to be the owner came from the back and just stood there watching. I like that they take quality control seriously. When the cook removed meat from the skewer, he handled each piece individually instead of pushing on the back piece to slide them all off. My meal: lamb chops. Get the lamb chops. Hubby got combo plate and just to be pigs we got a side of falafel. Best falafel I’ve ever had, not too hard. Hummus was good. Pilaf was not oily. Will go again! There were no leftovers.

Im actually impressed«North Fresno», with your shiny new Mediterranean restaurant; with its delicious bold flavors, quality food and generous portion yet with the fair price of south side, because normally you tend to witify the taste of everything and price it higher than the roof(not being racist or anything, just a joke for the kind that can’t take jokes) but this new place is truly the noah’s ark for Mediterranean food for the north, because its sincerely good, I feel its the savior of Mediterranean food in north Fresno. The ark is a fast casual style of dining for the mediterranean cuisine– perfect for take out and not too fancy dine in, so don’t expect the table service, but the awesome effect of that means, you get to save on tips. The menu carries a wide range of food, from the variety of chicken-lamb-beef kebab plates everyone know and love, to the gyro and dips that is perfect for a quick healthy lunch. Their price is mostly under $ 10, unless you get all fancy and posh. The flavors from the combo plate $ 12.99 I ordered is still in my mind, because it was so yummy. The chicken and beef kebab was the most perfectly grilled kebab’s I’ve ever tasted in Fresno. It has the right amount of juiciness and it so big and chunky, it felt so good to eat the mass of that meat, while the flavors was just perfect, that tangy lemon-sliglty spiced marinade hit my taste buds like black friday and knocked me right out because it was so good. The rice pilaf was incredibly fluffy and had the right amount of flavor, while the salad was very refreshing and dressed tastily. Lastly the humus that comes with this meal, was so perfectly coarse and had the right amount of seasoning, making it taste like it came out of some mediterranean mums kitchen. The pita bread was also freshly made, which was perfect to dip into that humus. The garlic sauce, was really tasty, just the right amount of sharpness and creaminess from the garlic. The service was overall really friendly and pretty fast, but I did order 15 minutes ahead via phone. While the interior while not so much Mediterranean in theme, was very fresh, clean, modern and neutral in colors. The whole fast casual concept of eat, pay and dine also saved my money on tips. Lastly, I do love how Ark packages its food, makes it look real appetizing. Overall I’m a fan of this place and I would be back for sure.
