It’s closed… for rent sign in window. Sooo, last time I was here I noticed new owners AGAIN. Quality has gone down even further. I did appreciate the third owners(I think it was the third) because although greasy it was dif and yummy. Decorations were great and they were charming. Now just greasy and missing a ton of flavor. I don’t believe they are open now because there appears to have been a fire.

I’m glad this Chinese restaurant is near my work place. I don’t usually like eating Chinese take out food, but this place is pretty good! The workers are really generous. I usually get the Singapore Chow Mei Fun, which includes a combination of chicken, pork, and shrimp. It is probably the best I’ve ever had! I also usually get the hot and sour soup. It’s generous with the ingredients. Although, today when i ordered it I wondered why it was just filled with whole pieces of mushrooms.

What really seems to be the problem with this place is they nickel and dime you every chance they get. I have sworn off the place the last few times I’ve been here but keep coming back… Now I finally had it. On an $ 80 order, one person wanted a spring roll instead of an egg roll with their combination. I was told to hold on and listened to the chatter in the background as they discussed it. I realize there are two spring rolls in an order and only one eggroll but there is only a $.20 difference between the two on the menu. Back on she comes to tell me she would have to upcharge me one dollar. Of course I asked why if there’s only a $.20 difference on the menu. She said okay okay no problem. Guess what, only one spring roll came. This is an $ 80ORDER! They look to screw you every chance they get. This is the last four times I’ve been there! I’ve had it.

Amazingly good food. Go! The kind of food you close your eyes to fully focus on the flavors and aromas. Why is it that Chinese takeout defies the laws of thermodynamics? How does this food stay so hot for so long? I’m so impatient to eat this food, I’m literally scalding my mouth. I forced myself to take a break from eating this delicious lunch to write this review. Each time I go back to eating, the hot and sour soup, the spicy chicken with pickled red pepper — still way too hot! Have physical chemists looked into this phenomenon? Anyway, delicious amazing Chinese food. The eggplant dish in garlic sauce is also fantastic. Highly recommended! Cheers!!!

All about the food… great quality, big portions, good price. Take out joint but very spacious if you want to eat in and definitely not typical take-out food. Food quality is as good as the big restaurants in Flushing or Chinatown but more convenient location. They also have WIFI, a TV and an «A» rating for the health inspectors.

I love that Jade Fountain is so close to where I live, has an A for cleanliness, and gives decent-sized portions of food for a good price. Their chicken and broccoli over rice is great. It’s not too salty like I’ve experienced at other places and they give you a good amount of chicken and broccoli without giving you too much rice –I’m able to mix everything up nicely. I am in LOVE with their fried wontons and the red sweet and sour sauce it comes with! The wontons are perfectly fried and crispy on the outside, but not over-cooked that the beef inside is tough. Another dish of theirs that I would highly recommend is the pan fried noodles with chicken. The egg noodles are fried so that it’s slightly crispy on the outside, but still soft on in the inside and they give you a great amount of chicken, vegetables and sauce on top. Everything I’ve ever gotten from Jade Fountain and couldn’t finish, I ate the next day and it tasted just as good.

A solid family run joint that’s close by to my house and they are A rated which is always a good thing. I decided to pay them a visit to check them out first hand. They have a fairly large dining area that is nice and clean. They also don’t have any Wizard of Oz curtains so you can see right into the kitchen area to see what the chefs are cooking(cue«The Rock’s music). I like the food they offer and they have a few dishes that I haven’t seen in any other restaurants. The people taking the orders are always nice and the food comes out piping hot. Seriously, I need oven mitts to handle the bag after they give it to me. The only complaint I have is that they(and most other places) drown everything in the sauce it’s made in. I’d much rather let the flavor of the food shine through with the sauce being an bonus rather than a brutal flavor thug. I’m still a fan though and will continue to come back, I’ll just reming them to keep the sauce to a half gallon rather that the usual two.

You know a good Asian takeout joint if you see Asians eating here. Been ordering and eating in from them for the last 14 years. Family run and friendly. The prices are fair, and they have so much variety. Yeah, some stuff is made for the particular flavor of the American palate, but there is also so much that is for authentic Cantonese food. Heck, you can even order Cantonese Ginger Scallion Lobster here, and it’s pretty darn good. I do wish they did not Americanize one of my favorite take out foods, Peking Pork Chops. The red sweet sauce they add soaks into the fried batter, and makes the whole pork chop soggy with that sugar sauce. Fry it up, and add the authentic brown orangy less sugary sauce. They charge tax no matter what, so don’t try talking it up with them in Cantonese hoping you’d get a deal like that. Barking up the wrong tree. For a fair price, ethical business practice, and decent Cantonese food, this is a safe take joint.

My family and I have been ordering from them for the past 20 years or so. They have the best Chinese food in the city, hands down. None of that greasy, bready taste when you get their awesome General Tso ot Sesame chicken– just tasty rich flavor. My favorites are the satay beef sticks, the pineapple chicken, and the egg foo yung, with really yummy brown gravy. Again, and I cannot stress this enough, they dont have that greasy taste and feel that other take-out Chinese places do. Delivery is usually super fast, even on weekends, and always accurate.

This place has been in the neighborhood since I was in elementary school. Good spot for a lunch special. It is still reasonably priced. $ 5 – 6 depending on what you get on the menu. Kitchen is clean and staff speaks enough english to not screw up your order. Still with the basics. The lo meins(chicken or beef) and chicken with broccoli are both good and safe bets. Not too greasy and generous amount of food. Avoid the General’s tso’s chicken and sesame chicken, too much sauce and the sauce is too thick from excessive amount of cornstarch. It is a small family owned business. Same chefs for many years. Needless to say, the quality of food has gone down over the last couple of years. But still better than most chinese spots in the area.

Me and my roommate ordered from this place multiple times, and after last night we’ve decided we will never, ever order from them again. We ordered lo mein with no vegetables, no meat. The guy taking our order definitely heard us because he seemed strangely surprised by the request, and repeated the order back to me correctly. We also ordered steamed wontons, friend chicken, and general tso’s chicken with white rice. The lo mein had no meat, but plenty of vegetables. The wontons came without any sauce. I don’t know about anybody else but I can’t eat wontons with nothing on them. So since they fucked up on multiple items, we decided to call them back and request they correct the order. We still had 10 minutes before they were supposed to close, but surprise surprise, there was no answer. This has happened to us once before here, they fucked up our order and left for the night. It didn’t help that the general tso’s was disgusting, not spicy, over-cooked, and the rice that came with it was completely dried out. NEVERAGAIN.

Ordered some lunch today from Jade. Chow fun was my fave but the noodles are now soggy and the chicken does not have the same smoky flavor it used to have. Quality has gone down significantly over the past couple of years. So sad. It’s the end of an era.

this place is definitely one of the better chinese food places i’ve eaten from in queens. only problem i find is the pork fried rice… it’s not good. everything else is great from general tso’s, chow fun, lo mein, everything. the service is great too and the people are very friendly. oh and if you order chicken wings from this place, they are monster sized!

GREATGREAT Chinese take-out food. not the BEST I’ve ever had, but damn close to it. their stuff tends to be a bit more oily, saucy, and salty so get ready to work out the next day to make up for this hearty yet guilty meal.

Love love lovvee Jade Fountain, everything’s priced just right and the food is Grrreat. But make sure to have some water, or soda on hand, because you might become extremely thirsty when you’re eating due to the salty goodness.
