This restaurant could be getting 4 stars, but they lack a few things that are very crucial. The food is not too expensive, but I’ll be honest, many of the things look better than they taste. The atmosphere isn’t bad, I just thought it was a little small and you can feel really crammed up if the place is packed on a busy night. The waiters are attentive, but I feel they would be understaffed on a busy night. The music they had playing was a bit annoying, that’s an issue nowadays with many restaurants. Parking could be an issue, they only have street parking.

Over priced and not worth it. The quality of food is not that great. Lollipop chicken(drumsticks) are hard and don’t taste good. If the prices were decreased then I would say you get what you pay for… but in this case it’s just overpriced and you definitely don’t get what you pay for.

Okay so this is my second visit here which was much better than the first, probably because we came with a big party and were seated downstairs in the lounge. This time the food was okay, but the hookah and music were better. There was a pretty big lounging area which was nice chill in. The previous time I went however, I was seated upstairs with a smaller party and the food was honestly not good, 2.5 stars at most. The place itself is pretty nice though. I guess you can come here for larger parties and to smoke.

Well, I just wanted to add my two cents or should I say two stars, because this place was truly disappointing. Even though I read all the Unilocal reviews warning me about this place, my boyfriend and I thought, «why not? They’re only complaining about the noodles and fried rice.» Our only interest in going was because we wanted to try everything Action Bronson tried on Fuck, That’s Delicious. So we tried basically the first three appetizers to test it out: the pan-fried chilli chicken, drums of heaven, and the honey chicken. Well, thank goodness we didn’t take more, because we already knew from the first bite that it was all fried from frozen. This place would be ten times better if they used fresh meat, but considering the location(the fact that we took two trains and a bus to get there), it’s hard to keep a place packed when you can only rely on the locals. If the locals aren’t buying then this place really needs to revamp. They should start by removing a lot of items from the menu. Way too many things to choose from and some of them are the same thing. If you live in the area, then it’s more convenient for you to go to. For the rest of us, not worth spending half a day on the train to get there.

Drums of Heaven and Szechuan Chicken, BANGING. Get that and you will not be dissatisfied. They do not serve alcohol here.

My Fiancé and I went on a tuesday night after the movies. Its a very nice and quiet place. Small and cute. The décor is really nice. The Lamb app was AMAZING(not in the pic cause we ordered it a few minutes after everything else). The only bad thing. About the food was the wings. They were over salty. Blah. The chicken in the padthai was a little chewy. I had the chili chicken and it was really good. I love spicy food and that definitely gave me a run for my money. Theres also a hookah lounge downstairs but we didnt check that out.

I seriously don’t understand why this place has so many negative reviews. Their food is amazing. I’m Muslim so the halal food is a plus for me as there very few hookah lounges with halal food being served. The hookah is great. The service is good. Nothing I can complain about at all. Actually there is… the lighting! It’s so dark in there! My friends and I couldn’t take proper selfies lol! But that’s no biggie at all!

I’m really surprised this spot gets as bad of reviews as it does, because what I had was incredible. I’ll just say that the«drums of heaven» couldn’t have been any better. They’re the lollipop style chicken wings. The flavor was bold and they had just the right amount of heat. As good as the wings were the real winner was the chili lamb. Thin strips of crispy but tender lamb, again w/the just the right amount of heat and spice, I could go on and on about it, but I won’t. If you guys are ever looking for another city to set up shop in, please consider Chicago(i’m serious haha).

As a Muslim, I really hate to give 2 stars to a halal establishment but my last visit was really disheartening. Despite impeccable service, I really feel like sub par food is grounds for a low rating, especially if the food makes you sick. First of all, we came for Father’s Day. My brother suggested this place and I wish I checked the reviews before we came. Had I done that, I would have suggested elsewhere. We were seated next to a family with a bunch of screaming children. In all fairness, we were asked if we would like to move to a table farther away. We declined seeing that our table was more spacious and the suggested one was a bit cramped. We ordered the drumstick heaven or whatever you call it and those were ok. I didn’t see the huge deal people made over them but, not bad. Drinks, I ordered a green tea and that was good. They brought out honey to go with it and I appreciated that alot being that not many restaurants do that. Now onto the food. I don’t know what they do to the green curry but I ordered the lamb, mom ordered the fish, and dad ordered the duck, all in green curry. We all got sick, me the worst. When I say sick I mean I had to use the bathroom. The bathrooms are filthy by the way. No one else got sick to my knowledge. We skipped dessert, took our food to go, paid the bill and got the hell out of there. I thought maybe if I cooked the food down some more at home, it would be better. I got sick again so I know for a fact it was the food at Taipan. My advice: FIREYOURCOOK! Would love to see your restaurant on a Kitchen Nightmares episode. Aside from the culinary displeasure, our male servers were polite and accommodating. The waitress was a bit crude. I also noticed her cleaning other tables and she wasn’t doing a good job at all. Décor was nice though. To the owner, you see the negative feedback. Please make necessary adjustments! You have some great items on the menu. Improve on them. Make us come back!

Taipan Fusion Restaurant… I give you a 2 star. 4 Star for Décor 1 Star for food 2 Star for staff(waiter) We ordered appetizer the spring rolls. They tasted as if it came right out of a cardboard box and then fried 0 Stars. For Dinner my husband ordered General Tao chicken that was 1 star not flavorful and just to bland. I had a salad I felt like I had opened a bag of salad and placed it on my plate. Its funny because we ended up at this location by mistake anyways. We tried it and we were not happy with the food.

Disgusting food and disgusting service. The only way this place is opened is because of there hookah lounge for the kids other then that this place is terrible. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. Stick to other lounges and restaurants and don’t waste your time and money on this

Well, this was an interesting experience. 1 star belongs to the ambiance, and 1 star for 2 out of the 6 dishes were enjoyable. The two meals were the tandoori salmon salad and the thai chicken wings. We ordered shrimp lo mein, hakka noodles, shrimp pad Thai, chili garlic fried rice, and hot garlic chicken. First let’s go straight to the 4 dishes that didn’t do well. Why are they using spaghetti for lo mein? I found that really wrong. Egg based noodles are default. The hakka noodles were alright(Just a FYI, the menu States«chicken, shrimp» it’s an «or» lol) Nothing special. Shrimp pad Thai didn’t have the right flavor… It was more Indian curry. That was really disappointing. The chili garlic fried rice was more chili and less of a garlic. But, the hot garlic chicken had too much garlic. No medium to their flavors. We also ordered their tom kah soup which was very good. It was a nice starter and if you needed to clear your sinuses, get a nice cup of this. Now, let’s get to the interesting part! This was a Sunday dinner and we found this place because we went to 3 restaurants with a long wait. Anyway, we sat down and no menus yet. Okay, so we had to flag the waitress who was just standing there to get us the menus. A waiter comes around and decided to take our order, started, then left for a minute. Came back a few minutes and resumed taking our order. He must be a fan of giving chicken because he kept suggesting it with our meals. Next, we got our drinks which were the Asian Jungle Juice, Tropical Triangle, and the mango lassi. The tropical triangle was so sweet, we had to water it down. The Asian Jungle Juice did not have ginger in it, at least I could not taste any. But, the mango lassi was perfect. Order that! The waitress was nice but it was pretty evident she doesn’t have the experience. She was probably still training because she didn’t know the meals and after she offered to give us another bottle of water, it never came until we had to flag her for it. The waiter messed up the lo mein and got an extra pad Thai. None of them came to check up on us, except for once. It was a lot of flagging down lol When we asked for the check, an a tall man brought the bill over and basically flung it to my mother. How rude! Honestly, they are lucky the gratuity is already suggested in the bill(also being we are a party of 6 so I understand if it’s default) but best believe we were not generous on the extra amount like we usually are. All in all, we are not going back to this place. I understand this is also a hookah spot and I guess you have to have tinted windows but talk about darkness lol it was hard to find at first. Anyway, don’t go guys. Their Thai fusion is disappointing. Maybe go back to your basics?

I’ve been here plenty of times but this review is on the Hookah lounge, not the restaurant. Their hookah is good some days and terrible other days. It’s just an averaged place with average service. Its kind of dark in the basement with low ceilings so tall people be careful. Their mango shake is pretty good and soothing with hookah. I think this place really could have been done better tho.

This place has so many different types of food, I get somewhat confused looking at the menu. I ordered Tom yum soup — small, a suspicious red color(unnatural), and tasted like they only put sour base with a little bit of vegetables. I gave two stars because a co-worker ordered sesame chicken which was apparently not terrible. The long delivery wait + delivery fee don’t help this situation, so I probably won’t order from here again.

Let me start by saying will write a fair review. Décor: fair. Just one thing, the music was too loud for a late Tuesday night. Service: the server was good. He was polite and respectful. No complaints on that. Food: HORRIBLE. Again horrible. I have ate at many Asian fusion restaurant and this is by far my worst food experience. So I decided to choose something I usually order if i o to Asian fusion restaurant. Basic chicken. This dish was really cooked bad. Very soupy, smelled like nasty fish, chicken was rubbery and gooey. One price of basil and no spice at all. It was as if it was frozen for a weak and served by heating it in microwave. Hell even the Chinese next to us were complaining about their food being SALTY and POORLYCOOKED. I will def not go to this place again and cannot recommend it either.

As a person who usually eats various types of Asian foods regularly, I’ve got to say this was probably one if the worst places I’ve been to in a while. My friends decided to try this place because our parents came from Taiwan and thought a place with that name would do Asian cuisine justice. However, the pad thai was bland. It was just noodles and peanuts on the side with no other vegetables. The pineapple fried rice was so bad, I had to RETURN it. This was the first time I have ever done such thing. It was literally a small bowl of white rice with a few pieces of pineapple. It was not fried nor have ANY flavor whatsoever. You would have a better time microwaving rice at home and putting canned pineapple over it. On top of that it was priced at $ 12??? You can get a decent appetizer in the city for that price and it’d still be a bigger portion and taste amazing. When my friends paid for the bill, they asked to split it between two credit cards. They couldn’t even do that! Overall a bad dining experience.
