Valley View Golf Course & Pro Shop

Didn’t know much about this course before booking a tee time with the wife and youngest boy. We live in Omaha so we made the hour-​ish trip on hot Saturday.
Pros:
*Easy to find.
*Pro-​shop has a full bar, enough balls and gloves, etc to get by if something was forgot or lost.
*Very friendly people work here.
*Rates can be found on-​line very, very cheap.
The Course:
The front nine is straightforward, par 4 heavy and on the shorter side. Some doglegs but nothing «crazy.» I’d call it traditional, fair and short… but not «easy.»
The back nine is spread out with three really quirky holes. The 10^th hole is a short par 4, massively downhill, with a narrow opening. My wife and stepson both hit into the trees. It is a tricky shot. I got lucky and cleared the trees with my drive to find my ball safely on the green.
The 16^th hole is a par 4 with a massive dogleg. We all hit 7 and 8 irons (to lay-​up) off the tee. Very odd.
The 17^th hole is a massively uphill par 3 which we all played terrible, I think the size of the hill played tricks with our minds. Another very odd hole.
Cons:
*Either the drought this summer or a complete lack of watering resulted in some burned out spots on the greens. Off the fairway the grass was fried, dirt or weeds.
*It is not an «attractive» course.
*The two bridges on the back nine are scary as hell!
Overall, all three of us really enjoyed the course! We will come back and play it again for sure!
