This is probably the most fancy phở place in Fremont haha! Price is higher, portion is smaller, but food quality is quite good as well! My experience with tasty phở wasn’t ever associated with modern décor and utensils and French song/jazz music like this place provides. I will come back!

I don’t normally write reviews but I just wanted to point how disappointed I was when my food came out. The portion size is so small. Not enough noodles and not enough beef. My tiny bowl of phở was $ 10! Other phở restaurants offer way more food at a much cheaper prices. Taste wise it’s ok. Not any better than other Vietnamese restaurants. I hate leaving a restaurant hungry so needless to say, I won’t be returning to this restaurant. Advice to manager: give your customer enough food so they don’t leave hungry… esp if you charge so much at your restaurant.

I am not into Viet food, but this fusion restaurant really become my recent favorite spot to go! Place is nice and clean, with cute floral decorations, staffs are nice and food are served quick! I like the fried egg roll, beef stew(super bomb) and shaking beef rice dish. The portion of food is not as huge as you expect in other Viet places, but definitely a decent portion that makes you satisfied! I also ordered a watermelon juice, since it’s hot summer and it’s really refreshing! They also have many other fresh juice like OJ or pineapple, my friends tried those and they like them too. Their curry stew or beef stew is amazing too! The curry is flavorful but not spicy, and their curry paste is perfect with white rice! and they also served brown rice too, thumbs up!

When I heard there was a clean and trendy new Phở restaurant in town, I was skeptical. Most authentic Vietnamese restaurants with the best food are generally hole in the wall places with servers who ignore you, and leave you with a burning rage of frustration(because the service is supposed to be terrible but the food is oh so good). Service: Qochon’s service is actually good. The waiters were very attentive and payment was quick and simple since they bring the iPad to you. Swipe and done! Any phở restaurant that accepts credit card is a plus in my book! The only negative comment I have about it is that they are really stingy on the herbs. I asked for extra basil and all I got was a small dish with a tiny piece equivalent to ~5−6 leaves. Food: 1. Phở Tai(Filet Mignon Phở): A) Meat– It was nice and tender… BUT everyone knows that when it comes to phở, it’s all in the broth. B) Broth — Tons of thick oil, but also bland and tasted like chicken broth that was meant for Phở Ga. It lacked flavor that is supposed to be used for Phở Tai. C) Noodles — Wide noodles generally used in Hanoi style phở. Not my cup of tea but also too soft and overlooked. 2. Spring Rolls: To add to the mix, their menu says they add pineapple to their spring rolls. Traditionally, spring rolls don’t come with that so I ordered without. You have a choice of chicken, shrimp, or beef. We got the shrimp. You can tell how fresh spring rolls are usually by the texture of the rice paper and the look of the vegetables. A lot of places will make it hours before, put it in the refrigerator and bring it out when you order. Qochon’s rolls were fresh and tasty. I would order again. Finally, would I come back? Yes, I’d like to give it another go and try the Bo Luc Lac(Shaken Beef) and a few other items to really know how I feel about the place. Look out for a 2nd review from me soon!

Food is a solid 3 stars but I will bump it up 1 more for their use of organic ingredients~! I am not a fan of their phở broth which is a northern region cooking style. Broth is very light and the ginger flavors are very pronounced. Noodles are the wide style and fresh. The chicken phở is free range and their beef is a filet cut. I do love their vegetarian options though! The farmers market vegetables are a beautiful mixure of many things and colors. The vegetarian hu tieu is delicious and I am a fan of the vegetarian chow mein. Organic and premium ingredients will dictate a higher cost so be aware that its a couple dollars more per dish then your average vietnamese restaurant. Worth it in my opinion! They also have fresh squeeze juices that are delicious and try to get their Qochon seafood eggrolls. delicious! 4 stars

My girlfriend and I had a craving for phở. So I found this place on Unilocal. Not your usual phở place ! It’s clean and trendy. The décor is really nice too. The food was amazing and the service was great. I had the filet mignon phở with a mango ice tea. It was really good. This will be my new phở spot !

I’m delighted that my coworker had recommended this place. The location is off the 880 freeway on the other side of Tesla. This shopping center offers a few good places to eat at but this being my favorite thus far. The restaurant is clean, hip and modern. It’s not your typical Vietnamese phó restaurant. Their menu is simple just how I like it. They serve flavored water with a combination of strawberries and orange. Very refreshing! So I ordered the combination phó for $ 12.95(tenderized filet mignon, briskets, and tendon served with fresh noodles in beef broth; bean sprouts, basil leaves, and lime included on the side). By the way the noodles are not vermicelli. Instead, the phó are served with soft thick noodles. I was pleasantly surprised because I imagined the thick noodles to be hard. The noodles were perfect. The combination of the flavors, meat, broth, ambiance, and service is what makes this place appealing to customers. Pros: Service Cleanliness Location Ambiance Modern Flavored water Cons: Parking A little pricey

This place is disgusting and way over priced. The portions are so small and it just gets me Mad that I even thought about trying it out. Went to get teo chow next door because I was still hungry.

Amazing place to grab lunch at. They create a great ambiance with their décor and calm music they play. Their staff is very attentive and helpful. But their food and drink is why I gave this place 5 stars. The garlic noodles had a nice crisp to it, the chicken was perfectly seared, and the contrast of the creamy parmesan cheese on the noodles and the tang and kick from the chili on the side just made the dish. Also their kumquat lemonade is a must try when its in season.

Really liked this restaurant. The ambience was great: inside beautifully arranged, décor superb, and music relaxing. The staff was friendly and attentive. Overall a nice place for relaxing and unwinding. Somehow I managed to miss this place till now. Ordered a beef phở, and a combo phở to go, which were carefully packed everything. The quality of the meat and veggies as well as the taste were excellent. I learned from the staff that Qochon means pig in Vietnamese. Highly recommended!

This place knocks the ball out of the park. Every. Single. Time! The food is delicious and everything is super fresh. The space has a charming décor, friendly staff, and is spotlessly clean. Delicious drinks are made with fresh fruits puréed for your order. On occasions when I have a vendor treating us to lunch, this is my go-to spot. They make me proud. I recommend the pork vermicelli bowl, and the Phở is always a hit. The seafood egg rolls are also divine. Vegetarians have several delightful choices and the staff always sweetly check if peanuts are ok when you order. Prices are surprisingly low for the quality delivered. On a recent visit, the gal who arrived early ordered coconut water and it was served right there in its gorgeous shell with a little umbrella. Definitely ask about the specials and let them sell you dessert. It will be PERFECT!

This place is an exemplar of modern Vietnamese cuisine. The relaxing French music, uplifting décor, and the friendly and energetic of the servers form a wonderful atmosphere that I have never felt at any other Vietnamese restaurant! We ordered spring rolls, Phở Filet Mignon, and Shaking Beef with tomato rice, and all three were very tasty. The meat in both the phở and the rice dish was perfectly cooked and so juicy and tender. The only slightly unsatisfactory side of my experience was that the flavors of the dishes are drastically different from the traditional Vietnamese comfort food flavor that I’m used to, but it isn’t a bad thing really. Lastly I would like to rave about the spa water and the ginger tea because they were SOGOODTOO 10⁄10 would recommend this place :-)

Came for the free(seasonal) watermelon juice, stayed for the tasty shaking beef. We had an adorable lunch at Qochon yesterday! I mean, the food wasn’t adorable, but it’s adorable because of the cute hipsterish atmosphere in here. They’re so hipster they don’t even laminate their menus! Ha… But seriously, my shaking beef was really tasty. It might’ve been one of the best I’ve had? I admit that I don’t eat shaking beef super often, but the beef was tender and flavorful(a little salty, but not overly so). I thought the meat was pretty decent quality. Our waiter only offered white/brown rice, but asking for tomato rice was no problem, and the tomato rice was tasty. The dish was a little on the pricy side, but I was OK with it. My friends liked their vegetable stir fry & mango iced tea. I didn’t get a taste but they smelled and looked good. I noticed a really large variety of vegetables in their stir fry, which impressed me! Gonna get something with veggies next time. It should be noted that it took 5 or so minutes after my shaking beef came out for the stir fry to come out, which was a little awkward. My friends kept remarking on the service, and I thought it was really good too. They are definitely nice here and eager to please. The spa water is a nice touch! Oh, and as for the watermelon juice… when it’s out of season(like it was yesterday), they give you popcorn instead. Why not another in season fruit juice? IDK, but a nice gesture.

Nice trendy interior. Clean and pleasant. Our waiter is warm as friendly. They also have French music in the background. What’s a pleasant surprise. Food wise, the phở and the seafood noodles soup are great. Good portion and good flavor soup. Everything is done with attention to details. Clean and good presentation. Price is decent, about $ 1 or $ 2 more but I think it is worth it. I would come back again to try their ice rinks and banh mi.

If you look at the photos of the restaurant on Unilocal, the décor has already changed a bit. The large community table in the center has stacks of magazines and huge floral displays. It gives a very warm and homey feeling, plus they were playing Christmas music already too. It’s fancier Vietnamese food. I mean the filet mignon phở was $ 10 and the Qochon vegetarian noodle soup was $ 13. I did enjoy both. The phở broth was rich and beefy. The vegetarian noodle soup had literally over 10 items in it, including purple cauliflower and what looked like 4 different colors of carrots(some were probably not even carrots). I’m guessing the $ 13 price tag was because all the vegetables were organic. The broth was very very light. At first I thought I was just drinking boiled vegetable water but after a while, you taste more and it’s slightly sweet and refreshing. To pay, they bring a tablet to your table so you don’t have to get up at all. I think our server was new so he seemed nervous but did a good job. I saw him make a mistake at the table next to me and heard him get scolded by his manager. A bit embarrassing to have that happen so publicly.

Fast and good customer service ! Nice décor; not the typical looking vietnamese restaurant . We ordered the phở tai, tai on the side. The broth was good and the tai meat were fresh. For a bowl of phở, this place is pretty pricey !! It was $ 10. It would usually be around $ 6 – 8. I would come back because the broth is good! However I’m still looking for a good CHEAPER phở restaurant in freemont.

If you’re looking for a modern Vietnamese/French fusion place that’s upscale pricing but not upscale food, Qochon is your spot. On a crisp fall day, my family and I were craving phở, and we wanted to try out a new place. Unilocal led us to Qochon, which had some pretty decent reviews. Upon walking in, the ambience is adorable and modern. The walls and décor are bright and tasteful, and there’s plenty of space. Service is attentive and friendly; everyone greets you with a smile and is thorough about checking up on how your party is doing. The food, however, leaves a lot to be desired. Literally. The phở here is $ 10-$ 13, which is waaaayy pricier than the average phở place. Granted, they say that they add in filet mignon steak as the beef, but there were barely any pieces in the soup to begin with. I didn’t find it to be any better than other phở places I’ve visited that charge half the price. The portions are also pretty small, which is not something I expect when I go for a bowl of phở. I expect a giant steaming bowl of comfort; instead, here I was greeted with a medium bowl of overpriced trimmings. Other things we ordered: beef stew rice(which came with a cold piece of potato that they simply removed when asked to reheat), the meatball appetizer($ 4 for one meatball and two small slices of baguette), and the broken rice plate with pork chop(which was okay). Our total bill for four people came to over $ 60 after tax and tip(even after the 10% off Unilocal check-in); we left hungry, which we have never done with a Vietnamese restaurant before. Takeaway: service and décor are awesome; food is not awesome.

Not your typical Vietnamese spot. I don’t know what it is like in here during a lunch rush, but from the ambiance that I was greeted with I don’t think they are your typical Vietnamese place that just wants you in and out in a hurry. The colors and music are very inviting. The jazz music playing with a delicious Vietnamese coffee and infused water makes me think of hanging out rather than moving on. I tried the spring rolls, both styles. The shrimp and the chicken are both refreshing and tasty. The crispness of the lettuce paired with the cucumber and meat dipped in their«zesty sweet and sour, tangy sauce» make for a great spring roll. The combination phở is outstanding. The true test of a good phở is the broth before you add anything. The broth here is superb. Hearty and rich flavor that speaks of the meats while accenting the spices used to infuse the broth. It’s almost a shame to even add the hot sauce to this phở. The lemongrass beef noodle bowl was outstanding. Fresh vegetables, peanuts, thin noodles, perfectly seasoned beef, and a side of nuoc mam(fish sauce) bring a nice balance to this cold noodle bowl. All in all I recommend this place for all your Vietnamese eating needs without the rushed atmosphere of a traditional phở house.

My kind of place, a healthy, fresh twist on a classic. Hump Day awesomeness: FREE fresh watermelon juice for ALL. WHAT!!! Please send that memo to the industry. Extra attention to details: *the veggie claypot had so many colors: yellow carrots, purple carrots, Brussels sprouts, purple/white cauliflower, sugar snap peas, asparagus — all organic and nicely al dente. Tweak for next visit, swap out the fried tofu with more of the regular. So nice and rare having organic soy products at an Asian restaurant. TMI alert: the sweet chili sauce they provide on the side, will clear your sinuses, I’ve been congested the last 48 hours and it cleared me out! Oh yes, delicious too, but seriously, use with caution, a little goes a LONG way. LOVE how they make homemade spicy pickles! There is definitely a work lunch crowd, if you arrive after 12:30PM, expect a wait, even for the center communal table. I was a bit bummed to see about ½ dozen items blacked out on the menu. Really wanted to try the pork skin. The aftermath: *sated *hydrated *no food coma *no excessive thirst from MSG and sodium overload Also check out the shaking beef, pretty generous portions of filet mignon, medium rare and a nice smattering of vegetables. Appreciate the earth friendly containers. All veggies are organic and they accommodated my request for less sauce. Warm service and ambiance. A welcome addition to the area!
