Without a doubt one of the best. These guys catered a party for us and everyone, I mean everyone loved what they got. Highly recommended! Chipotle shrimp burrito, I’m still thinking of you.

Tired of Specialty’s here on the Redwood Shores. Took a chance and meandered down the typical food truck stop and scored. At first didn’t know what to make of the Madd Mexx menu so went with what I know french fries, bacon, cheese, sour cream and guacamole. It was surprisingly tasty and filling. I’ll be back the next time they are in the neighborhood.

Considering the wild torrential wind & rain Saturday evening our Party was a HUGE success. Madd Mexx was a huge hit, in fact so much that many guests were taking note of name etc. The Baja fish tacos were delicious, and the truffle bacon fries were to die for. Max was extremely attentive and accommodating. We were able to park the truck at the side of our venue which had a side entrance with awning and when Max opened his service window this also became an awning which kept the guests pretty much dry! I am so happy with the quality and service that was provided. Highly recommend!

Really enjoyed the classic carne asada soft tacos. Flavorful and tender meat. Deliciously complemented with the onions, mild salsa, and cilantro. Didn’t try to fun dishes yet, just stuck to the classics for the first try, good to know they can do traditional stuff right.

Their Baja fish tacos are perfection. The sauce is amazing and hits the spot. The Brie chorizo taco is a little on the salty side, but still good. I would still rate this 4 stars based on their fish tacos… probably the best I’ve ever had. There’s a lot of selection with their carne Asada, chicken, and pork tacos as well, in addition to fries and burrito bowls. But seriously, try the fish tacos.

The guy who just posted — Kenneth C. — he’s my now husband! Yes! Max catered our wedding this past Saturday and it was amazing! I found Max online and booked him without even trying the food! Then I got to try their food at the Burlingame off the grid — and had no doubts that I wanted them for our wedding! The whole process was through email and Max was very responsive and attentive to what I was looking for. He was clear with what his menu included, and what they were and were not able to do. My wedding LOVED the whole experience. They were talking about the food a few days after the wedding! Some people brought home seconds. Max also let us know when we were almost done with our orders and last call. The whole experience was better than we imagined! Thank you Max, and can’t wait to use you again for future events!!!

Madd Mex Cantina catered my grandson’s first birthday party. I worked with Max to finalize the menu & our guests loved the food & the variety. Guests ordered from the window & received their entrees quickly. This is not your typical taco truck, the entrees are a meal, flavorful & generous portions. Highly recommend & if you can, check out Off the Grid and go out to where Max will be and order some of the entrees; you won’t be disappointed! Book early to secure your date, I booked in March for an October party. Max was easy to work with and very responsive to my emails. Thanks Max, Ian’s party was great!

#Madmaxcantina is the Freaking BOMB!!! The food and service is Soooo good /#AmazingFood. You have to have them cater your wedding, birthday, anniversary, baby shower, bat mitzvah, bar mitzvah, Christmas, Hanukkah, or any other celebration you can think of!!! But for real… They were so attentive during the whole process. From letting us know about all the permits we needed to their genuine expressions of excitement about being part of wedding… not to mention the crazy good food!!! Max(the owner) really understands people and food better then any vender we spoke with and probably anyone in the business. He and his crew were a blessing to us and I know they will be a blessing for you. Max thank you for providing us with Great food, service, and friendship! In short: Incredible Cal-Mex food with super cool bowl options that you can only get here! Slightly pricey, but worth it. Should you try it? Yes Ambience: It’s a food truck. Service: Excellent Location: Anywhere! 3 Key Tips: 1) Their prices don’t include tax. They should just include tax in their prices, and increase to the next highest dollar so that they(and their patrons) don’t have to deal with so much change.) It would also cutdown on sticker shock. 2) Come hungry — portions are great! 3) Their bowls include lots of awesome veggies, so it’s a great healthy option! Best Dish: Shrimpaki Teriyaki Bowl

Best waffle fries I’ve ever had! super crisp and perfectly cooked. Also tried the Baja fish burrito, this is a big @$$ burrito! I liked the flavors in the Baja burrito, maybe i’d get more of their Baja sauce on the side next time. The girl working the register was very nice. Really want to try the samosa burrito when its available next.

We had the Madd Mex Cantina truck as a surprise for our wedding guests after the reception was over at midnight. They arrived early to set up and were incredibly friendly to our guests(everyone loved them!) and, perhaps most importantly, the food was stellar. We had them make extra helpings of the carne asada fries which were a big hit. People were going back for seconds and ordering burritos to go(for presumably late LATE night food?). The owner Max was incredibly courteous and very prompt with responses. Just an overall cool guy and such a pleasure to work with! If you’re looking for good eats from great people, Madd Mex is the way to go!

We had Mad Mexx cater our Mothers birthday party, and they did not disappoint! They traveled from San Jose to our party site in Walnut Creek. The pork rib with mole Taco was outstanding. A little heat on the back side, and sweet succulent pork rib up front. Not too salty and a hint of sweet. I also tried the carne asada fries, and substituted fried tilapia for the meat. A new fusion menu item was created called fusion fish and fries(a new way to eat fish and chips!). Other items to note are the carne asada combo plate(rice, beans, and meat), and the burritos! I also substituted the carne asada in the burrito with the pork rib and mole, which made for one«bangin’» concoction. This food truck makes everything with super fresh items, and takes care in creating each item. Thumbs up!

I’ve tried two of their bowls when the food trucks come close to where I work. Today I ordered the Chicken Teriyaki Bowl and it was delicious. At $ 8.95 I did not feel that I was ripped off as I did last week when I ordered from a different food truck that will remain nameless. Every order is prepared fresh right after you order. They have a sign thanking people for their patience, so you do need patience because they aren’t real speedy. I think it was a little under 10 minutes for my food, maybe less, but when your friends are waiting for you it seems longer. Staff are friendly and calm. They offer more than just Mexican food, and some combinations are pretty original! The Shrimptaki bowl that I ordered a couple weeks ago had great tasting shrimp however I think the combination of flavors/sauce was a bit too much of a strange combo for my taste buds which are ever evolving(hence why I gave Madd Mex another try today). They used Mexican flavoring on it. It wasn’t horrible, but the combo of Asian flavoring and Mexican flavoring was more than I could take so I didn’t eat very much of it. I was very pleased with the Chicken Teriyaki Bowl I had today which had yummy grilled chicken and the carrots weren’t over cooked, and it has rice and maybe some other veggies. The broccoli is huge and yummy, but you only get 2 pieces. I have thoughts of ordering this again and coming back to work and adding a package of frozen broccoli spears. That said, I feel like they could add a bit more teriyaki sauce. There was definitely enough sauced food for every bite of chicken or veggie, but with the rice at the bottom of the container, some of it didn’t get teriyaki. If they had to-go teriyaki sauce to hand out with orders, I think that would be a big plus! Overall, I think they really do good food. I am not sure if my waistline will allow me to try the more daring options they have such as the carne asada fries which my friend got last time. But I will add that this bowl I got today was probably one of the most healthy choices offered by any of the food trucks today, so if I see they’re here again, I’ll definitely go back!

I really want to give props to Max at Madd Mex Cantina. It’s been a long time(April 2014) since my first eh experience eating from Madd Mex Cantina truck. Max has reached out to me several times trying to make sure I have a better experience. Unfortunately schedules haven’t been in alignment, but I still have Madd Mex on my radar. Max gave me his personal recommendations and wants to make sure my next visit is a better reflection of what he and his truck can do. Max’s follow through and commitment to customer service is worth another star. I’m looking forward to trying Madd Mex Cantina’s food in the near future.

This a review for Madd Mex Cantina during lunch at Stanford Universty(Lomita Mall). I can never go wrong with Madd Mex for lunch. Even though I am a pescatarian, there are lot of options for me here. My favorite is still there fish tacos. I love that each taco is filled with a large piece of soft fish, paired nicely with crunchy lettuce and salsa. For around $ 9 you can get a plate of 2 tacos(any meat/non-meat of your choice), rice, beans and lettuce. I tried the chipotle shrimp bowl, which is more of plate. It was equally filling and also had a nice kick. The chipotle is spicy, don’t doubt it! If you check-in, they currently have a deal for cross-cut fries! Overall, a great choice for lunch at the Stanford food truck area.

I tried the fish taco, fried tailapia with their special Madd sauce, and it’s really good. The size isn’t all that large, but I do really love how the fish is fried. Mix that with a healthy amount of vegetables(corn, cabbe, salsa) and I was sold. I also tried some frog legs, and it tasted like really tough chicken. A novelty item worth trying once.

Everyone deserves a second chance. I know there are times I could have made a better first impression. Madd Mex has great reviews so maybe I showed up on an «off night» on my first encounter. Out at SLZ Food Truck Mafia on 6⁄27 and gave ‘em another try. We met Max again and he took our order for Mexi-Chino burritos. While waiting Hubs and I tried the watermelon juice($ 2.50) it was served in a pink plastic cup maybe 16oz. with ice. It was refreshing on a hot a$$ day. Not overly sweet and had a nice fruity flavor. Tonight they had frog leg tacos on the menu. That was a first for me. Now the burrito. It was a total 180 from the first time I have it. The beef was tender and juicy, had rice(yes I finally got my rice), cheese and lettuce. It was the perfect size with the right portion of ingredients. I brought home some sauce but the burrito didn’t need it since it had such good flavor. Hubs enjoyed his and agreed it was waaaay better than before. I’m happy to have tried Madd Mex again. Yep, second chances should be given. If not I could have missed out.
