BEWARE! I waited in Lin’s decrepit Fremont office for an hour, till I was greeted by the ignoramous, «Doctor,» Lin. He prescribed me Cambia for my severe concussions, a new powder/medication that was recently approved by the FDA. Lin mentioned nothing as to why he was prescribing me this partiucular medication and when I asked him to explain how the med worked, he had nothing to say. Instead, he pulled out his cell phone and showed me a link to a website that said Cambia could be prescribed for migraines and that it was very recently approved by the FDA. Once again, I asked him to explain how Cambia works, but he changed the subject, attempted to upsell his acupuncture services as a remedy for my debilitating migraines. He claimed accupuncture was the equivalent of «ten doses of Morphine,» but when I asked him how this was possible, he neglected to respond. Our purfunctory session lasted less than ten minutes. Afterwards, he had the cashier write up the prescription(which was wright with spelling errors). Even though I just went through one of the most bizarre experiences in my recent memory, I figured ‘what the hell, let’s give this Cambia a shot.’ I called three pharmacies, none of which were even famaliar with the drug. I then reached a CVS employee who advised me that they don’t carry it, but could order it for the next day. So, I go to CVS and they look at my insurance information(Platinum Anthem Blue Cross), and the pharmacist advised me Anthem wouldn’t pay for it(I later learned most insurances don’t cover this obscure med). I figured I’d just pay out of pocket… until the pharmacist advised me that the out of pocket cost for a mere 20-day supply was $ 1,100! One-thousand-one-hundred dollars, for 20 days, that isn’t a typo. Obviously, I cancelled the special order, meaning I gained absolutely nothing from Dr. Lin, after going through a painstaking process of obtaining my medical records(including MRI and CT scans), and getting my primary care physician to write out a referral. This process took two months, and at this moment I have no meds to counteract my migrain headaches, which sometimes last for 12 – 15 hours, several times a week. Dr. Lin actually gave me a worse headache than the ones that plague me nearly every day. AVOID!
