Nothing bad to say about this place. We drove up without a reservation and they gladly accommodated us. The room was clean and nice. The shower was hot with good pressure.(But no bathroom fan-weird) hairdryer worked great, bathroom was big. Free wifi is great, but it was slow. For a one night stay I wasn’t too concerned, though. Front desk staff was friendly, although when we asked where a good spot to eat dinner was they told us only fast food options, which is a bummer because we found a few great local options through Unilocal(we ended up at Casa Fiesta– yum!). Breakfast was good– one of the better continental breakfast spreads I’ve seen at a chain hotel. All in all a good choice to lay your head for the night.

This was a great hotel! After years of staying in cheap, stinky, dirty hotels, I have decided I am going to upgrade to something a little bit nicer. I found this HIX on and then booked on the Holiday Inn website(because it was cheaper). The pictures show a newer looking, bright, clean hotel with a pool, free hot breakfast, that is close to restaurants and shopping. Upon arrival, all the pictures were confirmed. The bright hotel looked like it was recently built. In the lobby, the décor was shiny, new, sparkly and clean. And as a bonus, it was free Fricker’s night. They had free Fricker’s boneless wings, chips, and some orange punch. They had BBQ and garlic Parmesan wings and they were delicious. I lived in Toledo for 4 years and grew to love Fricker’s. Even though Rooster’s(located in central Ohio) is owned by the same family, the taste doesn’t compare. Going up to the room, the hallways were clean, and the touch card keys were neat. With hands full of bags it was nice not to have to stick the key card into a slot. I just brushed the card on the lock and it opened. The room was clean except for a rouge cheese puff under the bed. Everything was very modern. The bed was very comfortable, especially for a cheaper Holiday Inn Express. My only complaint is it was hard to control the room temp. Set at 72, it was too cold. I had to bump it up to 80 for the heat to actually come on, and then it was too hot. The hot breakfast buffet was excellent! Everything you could imagine was included. They even have a pancake machine. Juice, tea, coffee, cereal, yogurt, eggs, sausage(turkey and pork), toast, bagels, english muffins, cinnamon rolls, biscuits, and more. I was very happy with this breakfast. Much better than hot breakfasts from other middle of the road hotel chains. Overall, I would definitely stay here again. The room was clean, the staff was friendly, and the amenities were worth the price.

I personally love this hotel, it’s very unique for a Holiday Inn. Whoever did the decorating had a very unique eye it’s very different. Anytime I’m passing through Ohio and have to stop this is the hotel I choose. The town of Fremont is close by and there is a decent restaurant selection, breakfast at the Holiday Inn Express is always good especially the cinnamon rolls. I especially love the pantry located near the front desk, the refrigerator and a microwave in your room is a bonus.

Clean, accessible, friendly. Not fancy, but very comfortable. I would stay here again.
