Been going there since there was a change in management… even had my daughter’s graduation dinner held there. That’s how good their food is as well as service. Brought my co-workers as well and they too had gone back there with there family. Today we are going back there again with my friends and co-workers. That’s how good the place is… you keep coming back for more! My congratulations to the new owners. Doing a wonderful job. I hope the people that rated this restaurant low would come back and rate the new management and you will find that it is not how is used to be.

Was here yesterday and purchased a take out order. The food was great meat was cooked perfectly. I really like that you can select the type of rice you would like with your meal. The service was awesome as well, the young lady answered all our questions and even helped us find a dish that my mom was looking for but we could not remember the name. Right before we left with our order the server took the time to review the order and make sure everything that was in the bag!

The food was pretty good, took a little time for us to get our main dish but appetizers were pretty tasty. The belly dancer was the best part, very fun and she got everyone involved and taught everyone to belly dance. Super unique would recommend going at least once.

Everything about this restaurant left a lasting impression & changed my outlook on a dining experience. Place is beautifully set up. I can imagine hosting an event here just because it’s so beautiful. Our server was over the top amazing & made sure we were taken care of. Always had a smile on his face, made eye contact & very attentive. Ordered the koobedah(beef)($ 12) & hot tea($ 4). Also got bread & hummus. Bread was super warm & paired with hummus made for a yummy appetizer! Before I talk about the meal, I need to talk about the tea. I usually don’t order hot tea at a restaurant but I’m so glad I did. I can’t pin point the flavor but it was soooooo smooth & calming & flavor was divine! Of course I got a refill. If ever I want hot tea, I will come here. Now, the food. HEAVENLY! Omg. My taste buds sang HALLELUJAH at how AMAZING the food is. Beef was so juicy with so much flavor packed in there. Wasn’t difficult to chew either. Omg. I just kept smiling because it was SOOOOGOOOD! Now, if you check in, you get free drink or ice cream. Now, you know I went for the ice cream! And I’m so happy I did because 2 scoops of pistachio saffron ice cream?! TWO! Omg. The ice cream sealed the deal & I’m already looking forward to my next visit!!!

This is a good Persian restaurant in east bay. Their food was very good. We loved their beef and chicken kabab dishes. The tea they serve was great. The prices are reasonable for the lunch menu. The spices they use are mild and the dishes are well prepared. The location of this restaurant is tricky they are not easy to spot from Mission Boulevard. The service was excellent our wait staff was very helpful and guided us through the menu.

Love this place. A recent change in ownership has revitalized the restaurant and atmosphere. The food is great, service is top notch, and their hookah lounge next door really hits the spot. If you haven’t tried this unassuming restaurant and hookah lounge, is definitely worth a shot.

We went to this restaurant about 30 min prior to them closing and even though they were cleaning up and getting ready to close the food was Amazing! The Koobideh Kabobs were delicious. Also the homemade bread was so tasteful and fresh. I can’t Waite to come back.

Loved this place! Seems like it’s in a lonely plaza, but the food and service was great. Ordered the veggie kebab and the flavor was perfect. Portions are big for the price. Had to get a to go box with all that rice. They also give you a free flat bread to start with herbs and cheese– never had that combo before but it was delish! The owner, Elina, was super nice as well. Vibe is comfortable and not too loud. Also got a free Persian ice cream using a Unilocal check-in! Will be coming back again!

Well to begin with I have had better Mediterranean food, I ordered the rack of lamb and it was literally just boiled in water and then browned on a grill before being served to me. As opposed to cooking the lamb on the grill. Even the rice was just plain ol rice from the rice cooker nothing too special about it. The belly dancer experience was OK, but it gets old real quick. I don’t know maybe its just me but I don’t want someone dancing on my head while I’m trying to eat food. The Server was nice enough to give me the free desert with the Unilocal check in even though my phone died and I could not show her the coupon.

it’s really good. Huge bowl of lentil soup for $ 5.95. Had a beef kabob, tender and not dried out. The naan-like bread served before the meal delicious. Service good too. Accompanying rice is tasty and be sure to ask for the slightly spicy green chutney. It feels a little bit formal but that’s kind of a good thing. Full bar.

By far the best Persian cuisine in the Bay Area/NorCal. Service, Food & Ambiance all deserve the highest grade across the board. What to order: — Soltani — Kabab Koobideh — Mast O Khiar — Joojeh — Zereshk Polo — Lamb Shank — Kashke Bademjoon — Baghali Polo I can seriously go on and on. This place is Heaven for the foodie! You won’t be disappointed. It’s also vegetarian friendly! If you’re on a low carb diet ask for the Joojeh Kabob with salad on the side. On a hot summer night ask for their Doogh beverage and faloodeh ice cream. Bön appetite, Za7tein or as they say in Farsi«Nooshe Jaan!» Aka may your soul be nourished!

Pretty bad and rude service. we had a party of 4 and i said we are expecting 2 more to join. instead of saying o please move to say 6 seat. r u sure you are expecting 2 more? Ok. Minimum 8 dollar per person we have to order. no questions. again rudeness here. anyways i just had a glass of drink and walked out. not interested in going back. even though waiter/server was pretty good looking but i guess it was all make up plus beauty doesnt equal brains and you can see that when you go to Bijan :)

I would love to say that this place is wonderful but instead I am compelled to write a bad review. First I’ll say that this is only for delivery through DoorDash– we’ve never been to the physical location. We LOVE the food here. The first time we ordered it was incredible and we thought we’d be regulars. Every time of the 6 times we’ve ordered there we ordered the kabob plate for 2 with BBQ Veggies. 5 of the 6 times it showed up with a HUGE pan of rice. I can’t eat rice so most of it goes in the trash save what my husband can eat with the meal and the next day for lunch(and I get nothing but the meat for this $ 40 plate for 2). I talked to DoorDash more than once about this and each time I am being told that they will speak to the restaurant and it won’t happen again. The last time we ordered I was starving and decided to make a point to call back and ask for the veggies to be redelivered. We waited until 10pm and they never showed up. I also put in the notes everywhere that is allowed to please make sure our order is correct. The food is so good I wanted to keep trying with this place but the sixth time was last night and we won’t do it again. If this restaurant reads this– either you aren’t getting the message or marked choice as a result of an error in your DoorDash listing, or you don’t care. Either way you should look into it because we’d be very loyal customers and now we’ll never order again. Each time we order it’s 50 bucks so I would rethink either the relationship with DoorDash or your cooks in the kitchen who don’t read the ticket.

Fairly decent quality at a fare price. They make a very good koobideh, probably best value. Chicken kabob is dry and salty, Barg is hit & miss, it’s a gamble, if they had good filet delivery the kabob should melt under your teeth like butter, but if you find it chewy then they gave you top sirloin.

Stumbled on Bijan looking for a restaurant not far from Sunol before our Train of Lights ride later this eve. Great find! Loved the combination Mediterranean appetizer plate… bread was hot & fresh, the«perfect to dip you with my dear». Entrées(lamb shank & chicken/beef kabobs were tender and tasty.

We have been meaning to try this place for a while. We now are cursing each other for not doing it sooner. Some of the best Persian food we’ve had in California. It’s a family run place with great service. We tried their ground beef kabab, lamb shank with kidney beans, Shirin polo, the drip trio and the bread. Everything is made in house and you taste the freshness. We filled up on bread and had food left over for another two meals. Best value and great food. Couldn’t be happier about our Sunday brunch. I would love to give this place 5 stars, but there is a Unilocal glitch where 5 stars will make the review disappear in a few days.

I’ve been craving Persian food since moving to Hayward. While running errands in Fremont, I wondered if a Persian restaurant was somewhere nearby, and Unilocal led me to Bijan. I placed my order over the phone, and stated I wanted two koobideh. When I got there, the lady at the register was not particularly inviting; but friendly enough to take my credit card. When signing, I saw the amount was 2x more than I had expected! I asked her why and she looked at me like I was stupid and told me it was for two orders of koobideh. I clarified that I wanted 2 koobideh, not 2 orders of koobideh(Clearly, a minor misunderstanding based on their menu). From the look on the woman’s face; you’d think I had just spit on her. I even apologized for any misunderstanding on my part as it was my first time ordering at the restaurant. She then started pointing her finger in my face and raised her voice at me saying that I should have just said«koobideh», and how she had confirmed the order with me on the phone, and I had had repeated back to her how I wanted two orders of koobideh. NOWHOLDTHEFLEEKUP! I never said that. She must have thought she was talking to a punk… I cut her off and(very politely) told her to stop making up our conversation. I transcribed the conversation word for word from memory. After I was done talking, she nodded her head as if to say«you’re right». I told her I didn’t need both orders. She shrugged and said the meal was already paid for, so she didn’t know what to do. REALLY? I told her to cancel the charge and recharge for the one meal. She removed the second meal from the bag, went over to the register and grabbed some money to make up the difference. She then scolded me some more over how I should have just said«koobideh» and that next time I order, I should just say koobideh. LADY, THEREWONTBE A NEXTTIME! On a positive note: The koobideh was quite good. 2 stars for that. However, my experience overshadows that part for me. SUMMARY: Good koobideh. Combative staff. They will not see my face here again.

Pathetic service. The waitress tells you to be back in a minute only to come 10 minutes later. And they are rude. We were a party 6(2 had to join later). We got water on table when we almost finished dinner. The vegetarian platter was good, but the main course was very very DISAPPOINTING. Bad Service, Bad Food. I don’t see a reason to come back here.

Came here for a friend’s birthday and it was a decent experience. The menu has lots of specialty drinks to choose from. Our food arrived quite fast post order. We had the Cornish game hen which was very juicy and flavorful. However, it was a bit on the colder side even though we dug in right away. They had belly dancing which was fun. Lady came to our table and showed a few of us how to get down. She was great. Service was ok. Lady was a little impatient that we didn’t order right away. Hubs and I had another dinner to go to so we shared an entrée. Apparently she didn’t like that since she said, «Sharing?! That’s it?! Drinks?» Like… ooooooook. Our stomachs can only hold so much and by the time we scarfed down the entrée, we could barely eat at the other spot.

I had hummus and lamb shank over some Ravenswood Cabernet. It was a treat. I love this place for its food, service, and ambiance. I usually have Soltani with Shirin Polo and its my favorite. I like that they carry brews like Blue Moon and Fat Tire. I say at a table this time and it was very cozy. I have sat at the bar before and it’s quite vibrant with the color changing lights. I have recommended this place to my family and friends and they all have loved it.

I love Persian food. My wife loves Persian food. You’d think that going to Bijan would be awesome, right? Wrong! We don’t ask for much. Some flavorful koobideh. Maybe some tender barg. With a nice grilled tomato on the side. All on top of soft and buttery rice. We’ve had this sort of kabob perfection at restaurants in Vancouver, LA, and even Sacramento! But I think the Bay Area just doesn’t have what it takes — I’ve never had even decent Persian food in the Bay Area. Anyway, at Bijan, we ordered the koobideh and barg. Both were dry and flavorless. The end.

This Persian restaurant has delicious kabobs and stews. It’s a constant. I’ve been here a while back and the food is consistently good. Moist kabob. The ground beef kabob is delicious. The beef stew with tomato base also hearty, not spicy. Caveat: I went for lunch and was looking for some of the lunch specials listed on their website. the sandwiches are not on the menu anymore. Excellent food and good service.

I shared the lunch special kabob plate with chicken breast and ground beef. The beef tasted like McDonald burger patties so i thought that was average. The chicken tasted a bit better because I was craving chicken kabobs. The rice was cool too but nothing was really extraordinary about this place. The pita bread that comes as an appetizer was also just meh and it didn’t even come with olive oil dipping sauce. Rather it came with herbs and onions and butter. Thought it was random. The lunch plate is good enough for two girls to share.
