I initially wrote a very nice review of this dealership, and I gave them an opportunity to make things right, however their reputation is not something they seem to be concerned with. I am not complaining about the car I am complaining about the liars that work at the dealership. Ken Berini (spelling), (internet sales manager), followed by Don Major (finance manager) and finally Steve Rylin the General Manager must spend endless hours plotting and planning their lies because they are really good at it. I was given a 30 day temp plate and when I called 4 days prior to its expiration was told by Ken that it had been mailed and I would receive it that day (Tuesday) or would be there by (Wednesday). When I did not get it and Ken wasn’t there — Don told me there was a problem at my registry in RI and I would not get the registration by Friday expiration. Fuming I said I wanted to know what was going on. Don referred me to Steve who finally tells me the reason for the delay was that there was a lien on the car. So Ken definitely lied and Don basically lied unless my registry not issuing a registration because the car I paid for had a lien on it was somehow my states fault.
Now Steve offers to reimburse me if I get a ticket driving the unregistered car, «because that’s all they will do» is give me a ticket. Using due diligence I call the local police as well as my insurance and am told driving an unregistered car is a major offense and the car will be impounded and my insurance will be in jeopardy. So Steve now offers to rent me a car (but not a Jag Convertible as I bought) so I decline and we cancel out weekend getaway to NH. I then inform Steve that Ken never responded to my question as to the battery condition of this 8 yr old car prior to purchase and that I wanted new battery included in the price … and guess what? I’ve got a car with a dead battery in my garage… but I can’t drive it anyway. Steve agreed to replace what was later determined to be the original battery. Wow that was «nice of him».
So after all is said and done — I saved them hundreds if not thousands of dollars in possible impound and ticket and court fees along with a weeks car rentals and they paid for a battery that should been replaced before I bought the car. I told Steve I did not think that was proper compensation — and didn’t give them a $$$ I thought was. I just thought after what I went through, not being able to use the car, not taking hem up on the offer to rent me one — they could have thrown me a bit back.
I felt buying a Jaguar from a Jaguar Dealership would be safe — would be different but … .the Snake Oil just costs more and comes in a nicer package. They Lie — Surprise — their car salesmen. It wouldn’t have taken much to make me happy — just look at all they did to go out of their way to make me unhappy
