I look forward to visiting Frankie Fed’s when I come visit home from Houston. Great pizza and environment. Always a must visit on my tour of my hometown food.

The thin crust pizza here is amongst the best in the area.

Pizza’s OK. Thin crispy crust, held up better and not as soupy as the tomato pie from Federici’s. My main issue was that we ordered a pizza and a salad, and it took 50 minutes to get to us. we live less than 10 min away.

Love the pasta, pizza is just OK, service is phenomenal. Just like Sunday dinner at Mama’s house! They’re always properly staffed so service is incredibly attentive and fast. You may have 2 or 3 people helping you from when you sit down to when you leave — which is fine with me! Again, I love the pasta. The cheese ravioli with vodka sauce is my absolute favorite — so creamy and tasty, and the portions are perfect! Tried the pizza once — it was ok, was greasy enough to make me sick to my stomach afterwards — so I probably wouldn’t do that again, but I’ll be back plenty for the pasta. Can’t tip on credit card so bring cash!

Prices are way too high for atmosphere. It was a tavern like place with wooden tables and waiters who wear tshirts, yet I’m paying 25 bucks for Veal Parm that wasn’t even that amazing. Their bread and salad with their house dressing was the best part of the meal. I ordered meatballs as appetizers and they were fantastic! From there it just went downhill. Ordered the Shrimp and Veal Parm and they were okay. Shrimp was nothing special and Veal was too mushy. Didn’t really like the pasta. For dessert I ordered the Nestle Toll House Cookie Pie that my waitress said was amazing and it wasn’t anything great. Then to top it off my waitress went missing at the end of the meal and I couldn’t get my check because she was too busy talking with a different waitress outside. So it took us 15 minutes to get the check after we finished our dessert. Then she disappeared again to pick up our check so a different lady came over and took it. Will not be coming back.

If you’re a fan of thin crust pizza, this is a great place. The cheese and sauce are delicious. Frankie Fed’s and Federici’s are two great hometown pizza places, with Frankie Fed’s coming out on top since it’s BYO. Aside from their amazing pizza, they are also famous for their homemade Italian dressing. We put it on everything we eat there: salad, pizza, sandwiches, bread… The list goes on and on! There are a few opportunities for improvement: The service here is often a bit sour, particularly from the owners/older staff members. I’ve been at the receiving end of a pretty nasty attitude by one of the hostesses several times, getting the impression that I was bothering her by being there, which boggles my mind! In a business where you rely on making your money by serving people, how in the world do you justify being nasty? Also, their prices are absolutely ridiculous. We’ve definitely gone here a lot less over the years because of their pricing. As an example, a large pie with sausage and peppers and a pint of their salad dressing is $ 30. The pizza is thin crust so there obviously isn’t a need for a lot of ingredients, and I am always disappointed by how the pizza doesn’t even take up the entire width of the box when I get takeout. All in all, the tastiness of the food keeps this place alive but it would be much appreciated if they would improve upon the things mentioned above.

Very traditional Italian food. Heavy, large portions, everything comes with a soup/salad and a side of pasta.(no one hates Italian left overs!) Pizza is really really good, thin crust. Loved the sauce, Salty but in a good way. Décor inside feels like your in a house with the low drop ceilings. They have an outside area which looks like a fun place to hang in the warmer months with some pizza and beer. Great place for a family dinner. BYOB don’t forget.

Nice little stand alone Italian restaurant. My friends brought me here for some pizza and we had a great time. The pizza is really delicious. It’s a nice thin crust. The cheese and sauce are phenomenal and it was piping hot. We ordered a few pies and had great conversation. I’d say that is a wonderful dining experience. The place is BYOB, so we brought a sizer for the guys and a bottle of wine for my buddy’s wife. They provide glasses. The staff was very attentive and the place was clean. This is definitely a spot I’d love to return to.

Frankie Feds should be renamed Frankie Fed UPs. When you enter the restaurant the employees look totally fed up. Our waiter never once smiled and was borderline abrupt. I ordered a small pizza which was $ 11.00 and an over priced $ 3 soda. I then asked the waiter if I could add chicken with BBQ sauce to the pizza. He didn’t think so but went into the kitchen to check. To make a long story short the pizza came with approx. ONE small chicken cutlet chopped up that had been dipped in BBQ sauce. When I received the bill, the $ 11.00 pizza was now $ 21.00!!! I couldn’t believe my eyes. I called over the manager to say that I think there was a mistake on the bill. Her reply was«You got a chicken Parm on the pizza!!! What??? Shame, Shame, Shame. Decent thin crust pizza but staff need to be retrained. Very disappointing.

I give 4 stars because I’m a sucker for a good drink with my dinner and unfortunately this place can’t oblige. However, the Crispy Chicken Salad with the house dressing is AWESOME!!! Have yet to have a better salad with comparable ingredients. Even though I’m sure the creamy dressing and fried chicken eliminate any hope that this is healthy… but it is worth every calorie. I’ve yet to have something bad from here… and trust me I’ve tried a lot because my job orders from here often. Food is fresh and tasty overall. The only thing I can say is that it is a wee bit pricey for a pizza restaurant. They are also closed on Mondays which I tend to forget especially since I always want to order on Mondays and forget. Lol!!! All in all good food and friendly staff. Also quaint atmosphere with indoor and outdoor seating.

This is not a review of the pizza. I must live on another planet from most Unilocal reviewers of this place. The Italian-American food tastes like what I imagine it would taste like in Idaho, not within 50 miles of NYC. The Chicken Parm was mediocre at best. Fredo’s does a better job and around $ 4 — $ 5 cheaper. I could make the same pasta at home. Solo does a significantly better job. Price: Expensive, considering the quality. Service: Friendly and quick. Atmosphere: Homey, but dull. Drinks: BYOB. I will never go back for an entrée, but might try the pizza.

We’ve been here a few times over the years and have ordered from here as well. When we ordered, the food arrived quickly and hot. Dining here has always been a good experience as well. Thankfully, when it comes to service, they didn’t take a cue from the original Federicis in Freehold Boro! Friendly staff. Quick to clear your used plates and items. Pizza here is very good, and while I’m not usually a big fan of thin crust, this one is pretty good. As for the dinners, mostly typical Italian entrees with a few twists here and there. I had a chicken and shrimp risotto that was pretty damn good! My wife and son went basic and had a combo of Penne Vodka and chicken parm. Both were good. Chicken was nice and thin and had a slight crispiness to the breading. Would have liked a little less sauce but it was still good. App was crustini. Nice toasted slices of bread topped with prosciuto, roasted peppers and mozzarella. Nicely done. You could tell the ingredients were fresh by the taste and ease of biting into it. If you’re looking for basic Italian or pizza, you can’t go wrong here!

Their pizza is soo goddamn delicious! When you first pull up its like whoa… lil shabby on the outside… but the moment you taste the food, nothing else matters! My wife has even suggested bringing a pie home so we can take it in the bedroom and eat it off of each other.(After it cools down of course) Had my son’s birthday party here and the staff handled everything absolutely perfect!

Reallllly just not feelin this place. I have heard such good things, and expected so much better! Sadly it did not deliver. Went on a Sunday night for a casual dinner and tried one of the«special» pizzas – eggplant parm pizza, and plate of the fried calamari. The calamari was just unexciting and way over salted. The pizza, while I did really like the quality and consistency of the crust, I found had no real discernible tastes that stood out to me. Sauce was average, and the eggplant was not even recognizable as a taste on the pie. Quite honestly, I enjoy the pizza at Federici’s much more. I’d come back when I’m in town to try some entrée dishes, but probably not any time soon. Just too many other places in the area to check out first.
