Fast service, consistent good quality. I love the Rama, chicken on a bed of broccoli with peanut sauce! Their spring rolls are tasty too!

Just tried this place for the 1st time, and I gotta applaud! Fast delivery, the portions were on point. I asked for hot, and they didn’t burn my, which I like, because some restaurants level of hotness differ. BEST part of my meal… the fried cheescake! I just picked it up in y hand, sat back and devoured with a smile on my face!

A large group of us went after a frisbee tourney. They made a table for 12 quickly and everyone enjoyed what they ordered. We pretty much ran the gamut on dishes, including rice, noodles, and curry… as well as appetizers. It wasn’t the best I’ve ever had, but it was good enough that if I’m in the area again I’d certainly go back. I personally shared the panang curry and drunken noodles, both of which I’d get again. Attentive service. Not over priced.

Great food! Never had an issue. I won’t write a full run-down for Tarntip because it’s already been stated numerous times before. I will say that out of the Thai restaurants I’ve been to, this is one of the few where the food is always fresh and it’s made more high quality than other comparable restaurants. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the delivery times. If you plan on ordering for delivery, be prepared for at least 40-minute wait times. One-hour wait times are not uncommon

I love Tarntip! Tasty food, fast delivery. Really attentive to variety of spiciness preferences. I like mine very spicy(which they always do well), but they have never over spiced my friends who like things milder.

The best Thai in the Fredericksburg area. Everything we have tried has been great this far. Would recommend take out over eating there sine no one is ever there

If you want delicious, soul-warming, satisfying curry in good old F’brg, this is where you want to go. The bases are creamy, the spices well-balanced, and the proteins moist and flavorful. The ingredients they use are fresh and high quality, and I can’t say enough about their sauces. Even the dipping sauce that comes with the spring rolls is delicious and well-balanced. I typically detest green peppers, but the massaman curry is so good that I devoured a pile of pepper slices. You need a pretty decent pile of food for your money to boot. The only thing they could do better is putting just a little more flavor in everything, but it’s possible I just like everything to be flavor overkill. Seeing as Garnjana is the only other Thai place around, a direct comparison seems warranted. I find Tarntip to be more flavorful overall, but my friends that prefer noodle dishes say Garnjana is better. I’m a curry gal myself. The biggest boost Tarntip gets over Garnjana for me is the meats. Garnjana has amazing sides and good sauces, but the proteins are bland, like they’ve been boiled or microwaved. Tarntip at least finishes their meats in the sauce, so they’re incredibly flavorful. Overall, definitely the first restaurant I recommend to people that ask where to eat in the area. Give it a try!

I was so disappointed in the food here. My husband and I both got Pad Thai and it was very low quality for the price. The shrimp I had didn’t seem fresh and there were only a few pieces of chicken in the other. My husband also ordered the fried cheesecake; he said it tastes like they fried it in the same fryer as fish. Also, I am less than 5 miles from them and they wouldn’t deliver because I live across the Route 1 bridge. How irritating! I would never recommend going here.

Right as I walk in the waitress didn’t greet us for a couple minutes. The restaurant has pretty open space, lots of room. The chairs are standard, booths are on the wall. Water was served with no lemon. The tom yum chicken that came with the lunch special tasted plain. The springs rolls were cooked fresh with decent sweet sauce that I personally think taste like something from a bottle. But what I will give this place is they know to make your food the way you instruct! My Basil Chicken(Pad Gra Pao) was Americanized but Delicious! I asked for it to come cooked extra XTRA spicy and it was on Point. The Thai chili with fish sauce really complicated my dish. And the Taller, tanner waitress was Very friendly, the waitresses do Speak Fluent Thai(for my Thais out there). Despite the soup, I do recommend trying this place. Please give me feed back on my review and if you tried I’d love to hear what you think. Enjoy.

A great option for vegetarians! Anything with tofu is great. I always get medium spice and it’s typically spicy enough. Hot, but not uncomfortable. I love how quiet this place is when we go, and how the music is always jazzy Thai covers of American hits of the 80s, 90’s and today. Tehehe. Dumplings and fresh rolls are always a must. I go to the cellophane noodles almost every time. Don’t forget the mango and sticky rice for dessert! :)

Stopped mid-afternoon so it wasn’t very busy. The veggie-filled fresh rolls were excellent and lived up to the adjective of «fresh» with a side of peanut sauce. The veggie spring rolls were a little crisp, but tasty. We didn’t get too adventurous from the menu and stayed with three varieties of pad Thai. All met or exceeded expectations with the noodles, sprouts, scallions, and peanut sprinkles. The meats were thoroughly cooked and well blended. I thought the 3-chili rated spice would have been a little hotter. Service was excellent. Waitresses were polite and timely. Wait time for food was no problem at all. Recommended for a casual afternoon away from the area traffic rat race.

I come here for one reason only… Crispy Duck! This dish is made up of sliced duck loin, lightly battered, fried and tossed in thai chilis and fresh basil. The degrees of spice vary(I like«Very Hot»), but the flavors are unreal. The remainder of the dishes I have tried here(Pad Thai, Tom Ka soup, various salads, Hawaiian fried rice) are all tasty in their own right and the prices are beyond affordable. This place is my go to for inexpensive Thai food in town and I find myself craving the Crispy Duck on a regular basis.

Very good, reasonable pricing and enjoyed every bit. Decent service but not super happy people. Would definitely come back if in the area!

I have ordered here around 8 times. I have ordered in house and delivered. Their noodle soup, pad Thai, spicy garlic chicken, garlic beef, egg roles, chicken satay… and much more. I truly love this place and they remember me. In from California where Thai is every where and always good so it was nice to finally find this place. I truly love it!

Good Thai food and the food came out quick. The fresh spring rolls were good too, and the house sauce was amazing. The service was good. I had the red curry and requested some mushrooms in it but wanted to add an extra dollar which I felt was outrageous.

This has been one of my favorite Thai places in the area for a number of years. My most recent trip though prompted me to finally write a review. A friend and I had been craving a trip to Tarntip as we hadn’t been in around a year together. We walked in and found a daily special written on the board for Calamari for $ 8.99. This was the first thing we ordered as it sounded good. The six pieces of Calamari that came out made both of us look up at each other and say«wow, we just got ripped off». Price/portion aside, the calamari was only okay. We both like food that is hot and/or spicy. He went with Thai hot and I went with a 4 star out of 5 star on the hot scale. I know from previous trips here that a 4 is perfect for me and the Thai hot is too much. This trip though, both of our dishes were very weak. I tried his Thai hot and couldn’t tell that any spice had been added. My dish was also very weak and lacking on heat. The food was good, just not hot or thai hot like we were expecting. The service was great and our server was very attentive. My reason for 3 stars and not 4 is I feel that overall, the consistancy isn’t there. The food is good, but it would be nice if they were consistant from visit to visit.

Tarntip has solid Thai food. Everything is fresh and well seasoned. The curry I had was prepared well, and my fellow diner had pad Thai which was also good. The fresh spring rolls were stuffed with vegetables and came with a good Thai sauce. I really enjoyed my food but for me, Aubergine’s is still head and shoulders above Tarntip.

This was the first time my husband and I went out for Thai food together and Tarntip made it such a fun and delicious experience! The service was prompt, attentive, and impeccable. The staff was very friendly and helpful with offering advice on dishes. The food was delicious, hot, and served quickly but with enough time to enjoy each course, as well as a surprise dessert. I really liked the décor and family atmosphere as well. We’re planning on going back as soon as tomorrow.

By far best Thai I’ve ever had and I used to live in Northern VA/DC. The Tom Yum was a little spicy but by no means bland. So flavorful. I could taste the lemongrass. The spring rolls were deliciously crispy and light, though the dipping sauce needed some sriracha(just how I like it, personal preference). I got the Chicken Red Curry in medium and it was AMAZING. Best I’ve had. The chicken and veggies are definitely fresh and you can tell. The amount of coconut is perfect and just enough spice to hit the back of my throat. I will continue ordering from this place and have no reason to even try another place. Lunch and dinner time delivery gets busy, though, so order ahead of time. Took an hour for lunch and I ordered at 11:45am. Definitely worth it.
