I pulled this doctor’s name out of the list of providers covered by my insurance company. When I arrived, the office was clean and pleasant. However, they were running about 45 minutes behind schedule. The hygienist was very pleasant and seemed knowledgeable. She did the X-rays and cleaning — with the exception of polishing and flossing. When the dentist arrived at the station where I was sitting he did the gum exam and made it sound like I had periodontal disease and that I’d need an expensive procedure. He also tried to sell me an Invisalign system. In short, according to him, my teeth were«awful». I left there feeling like I’d been at a smarmy, used car dealer. The following week the adjusted invoice arrived. WOW! The extra charges were extravagant to say the least. One line item was for a «full debridement» — which I’ve never heard of before. According to my subsequent research, it’s very rare that this is actually necessary and is for the worst of teeth — which mine were not at all. I went to a NEW dentist to see how their exam compared to Dr. Haston’s office and, according to them, my teeth are great — and so are my gums. With that said, it is my opinion that this place is more concerned with selling extra services and billing people for things that are bogus.

I can’t trust a dentist who tells me I have 7 cavities in my first visit(then after ignoring it) tells me I have 4 in the next. I need my teeth to last the rest of my life and can’t be settled with a dentist who wants to drill into perfectly good teeth!
