I.LOVED.THIS.RESTAURANT. Hubby & I both did. He got the flaming cheese appetizer & a big calzone. The calzone had a few toppings, but was still cooked through. I had the Greek salad with gyro meat & the tzatziki appetizer. The salad was nice & fresh, meat was seasoned well & the tzatziki had great flavor. The owner was just sweet, I wanted to hug her when we left. She talked to us about her hometown in Greece & what it was like, where to go there. Next time we pass through we’ll stop without a 2nd thought. So glad we have it a try.

Traveling thru. Found this place on Unilocal.Had the stuffed grape leaves. The chicken souvlaki with a Greek salad. Had the Galaktoboureko for dessert. OMG!. How lucky to have found a place like this. A hidden gem. Really really good. If ever in town again, would definitely stop in again

We love Greek food and we make it a point to try as many Greek restaurants as we can. This wonderful little Mom and Pop Greek restaurant was a awesome find with tasty fare, affordable prices, and sweet hospitality. On the menu you can find delicious Greek favorites, pizzas in a variety of sizes and American fare. This restaurant is sure to have something that will please every member of the family. If you are after a meal that is served with a side of love then you are sure to find it here!

Classic and enjoyable. The family and the food are wonderful. This is what local is about. Fresh food, engaging and friendly service. Wonderful spot. It can get Hot! In the summer, but the rest of the year is comfortable.

I came up to Virginia to visit my family and they took me to this awesome little spot. My mom and I shared a 14″ pepperoni, green pepper and onion pizza and it was awesome! Excellent homey atmosphere with great service and even better food.

Just like going home. Warm reception, family recipes, and Greek music. We stop in everytime we visit Fredericksburg, and good reason.

Such a breath of fresh air compared to a typical chain restaurant. As soon as you walk in the delicious aroma overwhelms you. It was as though I was going to dinner at my Ya-Ya’s house. Service was great. Food was delicious. If I’m ever in the area again I will definitely come back. Décor is a bit dated, but it sort of just added to the charm! I got to speak with the owners and they gave me the background story of where they came from in Italy/Greece.

Wow… I never knew it was there! The Parthenon, although right off of Jefferson Davis Highway in Fredericksburg is a small, family owned restaurant that’s been in business 30 plus years in the same spot! Why we hadn’t found it before, who knows? The bottom line is that the Parthenon Restaurant was just what the doctor ordered. This mom-and-pop establishment isn’t the trendiest or most updated place we could have visited(in fact, K kind of didn’t want to stop) but I reminded her that we’ve found gems in such unassuming locales. Sure enough, we had a fabulously authentic Greek meal that was just plain awesome. Well worth your time to stop and enjoy!

Went here today with a friend expecting something awesome based on other reviews. What a waist of money and time. My friend ordered stuffed grape leaves… she said this is not the way she had them in Greece. They were served cold and only ok at best. I ordered the Greek salad. Watch out for the olives because they still have the pits in them. That would have been nice to know as I do have dental work that could have been ruined. The salad was not bad, it just wasn’t that good. I found the food overpriced and service totally lacking. We even had to go to the register to get a bill.

I love this place. As a local of 4 years now I eat here every couple of months. The service is what you’d expect from your grandmother or grandfather, a little slow but totally worth the wait. Calzone is hudge and delicious. Beer is cheap and food is always inexpensive. Note I didn’t say cheap. Always tasty, always a good choice.

I discovered this place accidentally, while, ironically, looking for another pizza restaurant. But, even though it was small and unimpressive on the outside, I was hungry. It was a good decision. Some of the best pizza I’ve ever had. Home made, but still came out in about 10 minutes. I recommend the combination pizza – don’t be alarmed that it contains anchovies. You’ll never see them, and it adds tons of flavor.

I really don’t know much about Greek food or what is good or bad, but I tried this place out today because I was curious about Greek food. I played it kind of safe by getting just a regular gyro, but OMG it was SOOOO good. I love lamb, and the lamb mixed with the veggies and whatever sauce they put on there, all in that delicious pita was delicious. I will definitely go back and try out some other stuff! I believe they also offer some more American dishes(subs, sandwiches, pizza), but I went to try to gyro and was not disappointed.

Stopped in for a late lunch. I was alone in the restaurant with the owners. Fantastic experience. I felt like a kid, home from college, in my parents kitchen. I was treated so nicely and the food was wonderful. I love this place and will return whenever I am in the area.

This is my FAVORITE restaurant here! I have never had a bad dish served from there. The greek salad is always crisp and the perfect amount of seasoning and dressing. The gyros are the best I’ve ever had and we also really love their pizza with some feta cheese thrown on it. Their french fries are seriously the best ever. They are crunchy on the outside but yummy in the center. So good! And the family that owns it are just the nicest and always remember me when I come in which makes me feel so welcome.

Good food, and has a nice atmosphere. Much better than going to a chain restaurant. The owner makes all the desserts and served me her rice pudding which was still warm! I will definitely be returning.

Went here for lunch today and had low expectations. Based in the 1970’s décor I was worried. There is a lot of clutter on the wall but it is very clean. I mean this in a good way: the place smelled like my grandma’s house: of homemade cooked good goodness, very comforting. The menu has all the normal Greek food so no surprises there. The couple who owns the restaurant were the only two in the place besides me and my bf so I was growing increasingly skeptical of the food. I decided to get the chicken souvlaki and it was amazing! The chicken was well seasoned, the vegetables were fresh and crisp, and the pita was fresh, warm, and soft. My bf got the large Greek salad with gyro meat and it was also very fresh and well seasoned. Since the entrée was so good I decided to splurge on a piece of baklava. The owner said she made it and it was flakey and delicious. Pleasantly surprised and I will definitely go back. Giving 4 stars only bc the décor is totally in need of an update.

So coming home from a conference for work, I thought it would be nice to stop in and check and see how the Parthenon was doing. I picked up a pizza, a pasta dish, and some baklava on my way back up 95 for a dinner later that night. Yeah, it is still as good as I remembered it and the pizza is still out of this world good. The best part was that the owner actually recognized me when I walked in the door, and I honestly hadn’t set foot in this place in three years. That is amazing. The world needs more places like the Parthenon.

A decent Greek place, the owner serving us was very friendly. Calzone was huge although also more expensive than I was expecting. They do take credit cards.

I’ve been eating here since my best friend in high school worked as a waitress.(She’s not really greek, but had a good Mediterranean feel to her that the Mom always liked — go figure.) Anyway, the place is small and almost always crowded, though not so much that you’ll have to wait. The salads and the souvlakis are the best, but save room for the saganaki. A gem. Just remember to bring cash.
