I used to live in the house next door to this place when in school. Got to know the owner well enough — he is a retired U.S. military veteran if I recall correctly. He and his wife run the place. If you know Mr. Dee’s you know the hours of operation are a bit sporadic. As someone else said — this place is fast food but how they use to make it. Broiling vats of oil to fry the fish on-site, and oily fries — yum. Can’t beat the price either. I sometimes wondered how the place stayed in business as I rarely saw much traffic moving through — lunch hour always seemed to be its busiest time. But the place keeps soldiering on. Last time I checked at least. Definitely worth checking out if for no other reason than to take«a step back in time». I wish I could have given the locale more patronage but the food, while good, is nothing to write home about. That said, something about the owner pushing on with keeping the place up and running over the years, day-in and day-out, has always left a soft spot in my heart when I think of this place.

Read the other reviews on Unilocal and decided to stop for lunch. Initially I couldn’t get past the exterior… it definitely looks like a hole in the wall. However, I was pleasantly surprised! Good food… fish was sooo big that it barely fit on the bread… the pork sandwich was well seasoned!!! I don’t think that you can beat the price! I will definitely be back for MORE! :)

They are very friendly here. even the customers that were there eating as I waited for mine to go. I had their BBQ sandwhich and fries. It was very yummy. I can not wait to go back to try their Hamburgers. It is fast food but way better than your fast food chains. Go check them out, and you have to get their Lemonade. delish!

I have not eaten here in VERY long time. I was probably 10 yrs old the last time I ate there. My Dad used to take me there every Saturday. Nothing has changed in over 20 some yrs, except maybe the owners??? Décor is still the same. I remember the hamburgers, french fries were so greasy and delicious as a kid. I really wanna go back and see just how things have changed if they have at all. Ill keep you all posted :)

I wouldn’t call it a locals favorite but I would call it a downtown fixture. It’s fast food.. its not glamorous. In fact I’ve had so many ideas to take over that spot and redo the menu and clean up the vintage feel but alas I haven’t and Mr. Dees still pushes on. Still serving the burgers, fried fish, the pork BBQ and all other menu items. We all pass it all the time so appreciate it in all its glory! Grubs ~
