Cute little spot. The croissants were really delicious. The sandwiches were tasty. The service was great. Prices were reasonable. They also have a like a chocolate ball dessert that tasted great. I was really happy that we found this on Unilocal and agree with the high ratings. It’s simple and easy. Good job!

Delicious! We stopped in with our kids while traveling through Fredericksburg and are so glad we did. The cilantro chicken salad was flavorful and light. The assorted sandwiches and paninis we tried were gobbled up. Be sure to save room for dessert. There is a wide assortment of croissants, cream puffs, brownies and bars. Fast and courteous service. Highly recommend this little gem of a restaurant.

Stopped for a breakfast croissant of ham and Swiss and was impressed. Fresh and tasty with a nice hot coffee from a friendly and proud shop owner. Great spot! Support small local business!

Fantastic little place to eat. Hidden behind the coffee shop, Here & Abroad Bistro has seating indoors and out. Their sandwiches are freshly made with several options of bread. There are many desserts and drinks to chose from. The staff is very friendly behind the counter and will do anything they can to make your experience better. I highly recommend this to anyone in the area. I will be going back.

I love this tiny bistro! I came in after a disappointing lunch somewhere else, for dessert with a friend. First we went to hyperion, but their pastry display was not intriguing, so we walked next door. We had the tiramisu and the almond cream cake, which was similar to tiramisu but with almond liqueur and no espresso. Both treats were amazing! The almond cream cake was sweeter than the tiramisu, but might be my new favorite sweet! Is topped with a sweet crunchy almond crumble and the cream seems to be made with mascarpone cheese like tiramisu, but I’m not positive. The guy at the register was so friendly and informed me they make everything in house, which i love! He gave me a menu to take with me and said to come for lunch next time and If we call ahead he’ll have everything ready when we get there. We are definitely coming back for lunch soon!

Hidden gem? More like hidden treasure! I honestly fell for this place immediately, outside is very charming their setup kind of made me feel like I was in France. The building is super cute and when I stepped inside it felt like I was in someone’s kitchen. I was greeted immediately not sure if it was the owner but he’s very sweet. Of course I was a little overwhelmed on what to pick, wasn’t sure what I wanted at all. Everything looks good & tastes just as amazing. Their tiramisu was the best one I’ve ever had. Prices are pretty reasonable especially for the quality and presentation of it. After I ordered he brought my food out to me and I just sat down admiring the view & enjoying my cake and coffee. There were lots of people here so that shows you even more how awesome this place is. Think next time I’m definitely going to try the lime cilantro salad.

This is my favorite place for lunch. They have everything I want to eat — salads, sandwiches, quiche. Try the strawberry fields salad with the to-die-for poppyseed dressing or the turkey with perfectly melted havarti sandwich. Then treat yourself to a mini chocolate éclair for dessert. It’s going to take a long time to try everything on the menu, but I’m going for it. There is outdoor seating area in a beautiful garden setting. The inside is cute too. There are good books and magazines to read although I don’t get much of a chance to read them because the food comes quickly.

Here & Abroad Bistro is definitely a ‘hidden gem,’ as there really isn’t much of a sign to this bistro/bakery. It is tucked between businesses(it’s literally facing the parking lot), and offers daily specials, breakfast sandwiches, desserts, and pastries. The chef is Purna Shrestha, and he is welcoming, friendly, and will make any suggestions/recommendations. Some favorites are the salads and the croissant sandwiches, in which the croissants are always baked fresh on a daily basis. The place is small, with only about 4 – 5 tables, and the place is a nice fresh of breath air from the plethora rows of restaurants in OT Fredericksburg. +freshly baked croissants +daily specials +ask for chef Purna Shrestha: D

This place is a hidden gem!!! Was passing thru and just happen to park across the street and was amazed! Tiny place but service and quality of food were both thru the roof! Avo cucumber with feta sores on a croissant! Home run!!!

We stumbled on this great spot for lunch one day. Everything is freshly made with lots of care. The owner is the sweet man who works behind the counter, he makes a point to get to know his customers and from all the«regulars» who were there we could taste why. be sure to save room for dessert.

This hidden gem shouldn’t remain hidden! It’s located behind Hyperion next to a little law office. There are about 4 or 5 little tables for two and a counter full of delicious pastries and other awesome goodies! I ordered a crab cake which came on a croissant and was absolutely delicious! My husband ordered a Turkey, munster cheese, avacado and spinach panini and he loved it! We couldn’t resist getting a couple chocolate croissants, a blueberry, and a strawberry/cream cheese croissant to take home as well! I think it’s the location that doesn’t bring in as much traffic as it should but for today I was happy that it wasn’t crowded with a huge long wait like everywhere else downtown had on a Sunday! If you haven’t tried this place you should!

Really adorable and I would have given it 5 stars had the place been a little better maintained. It is tiny and we only tried the bacon egg and cheese pastry so I may need to go back for a try at the sandwiches and salads. Pretty expansive menu.

I love Here & Abroad’s cute atmosphere in the heart of downtown, their friendly service, and their variety of unique, tasty sandwiches. One of the stand out sandwiches for me has been the avocado cucumber on a croissant. The veggies taste fresh and the croissant just melts in your mouth.

This little bakery in the middle of historic Fredericksburg is a quaint little jewel. The fresh baked goods are of the highest quality and the sandwiches like something you would make in your own kitchen. The ambience is also quaint and quiet with a small number of tables inside and a couple outside for when the weather is suitable. If you’re looking for great fresh baked goods and sandwiches and maybe a latte or cappuccino for afterwords… this is the place to go.

What a fab little lunch spot! We stopped through while exploring charming downtown Fredericksburg and were not disappointed. It’s a bit of a blink-or-you’ll-miss-it spot, tucked back away from the street in a tiny little space with 3 or 4 tables and a counter for ordering. The gentleman who helped us went out of his way to aid in our food selection and to help us get comfortable even with the large stroller in the not large eating area. I had a Ham and Cheese Sandwich with Raspberry Mayo on a Croissant. YUM! And ended the meal with a Cream Puff. DOUBLEYUM! The croissant was buttery-melt-in-your-mouth fantastic. Not in a French style with an outside crunch and flaky interior, but also not the dreaded chewy taste of the croissants you get from the grocery store. It had a magic all of it’s own. All together, we had a great experience with our quick bite. Would love to go back again.

Here and Abroad is a quaint little bistro in downtown Fredericksburg that my husband and I stumbled upon on our way to another eatery down the street. I’m so glad we decided to stop in vs keep going. We both had lunch sandwiches on their fresh croissants and were very happy with them. There were lots of yummy looking treats in the display case and the man working the counter was super sweet. We will gladly come back next time we are in the area.
