Up until recently I have seen the same eye doctor off and on for about 35 years in Springfield, VA. However, I was introduced to Dr. Adam Madison through a friend and have become a new convert! He was spot on with the prescription and is Fredericksburg office cut new lenses for my existing frames. The lenses came out perfect and I can see better now than I have in a few years.

I have followed Dr Adam Madison each time he has changed locations. Now that he seems to have settled down in both the Central Park location and New Downtown Fredericksburg location, A big plus for anyone looking for great eye care. It seems now I am moving to North Carolina but with all that said I will come back each year to have him continue to take care of my precious eyesight. There is no one else that I trust and feel more confident with then Dr Adam Madison he is professional and patient, kind and personable and he expects no less from his staff. Every single person in this office was friendly, courteous, and extremely helpful. Especially Jeff. Don’t waste time at other places, go here first. They worked with me to get me the best deal and gave me some mail in rebates so I could get a chunk of the money back from the manufacturer. Fantastic place!

I will definitely NOT be coming back since I have these glasses(1week) I have brought them back everyday to be adjusted. I finally had to put medical tape on the frames. Not a happy camper.

below you’ll find the e-mail detailing the experience I had with them… «I wanted to inform you, that I will no longer be coming to your establishment for eye care. Please make ready any and all charts for myself, my wife and my daughter to pick up and move to another eye doctor. I have to tell you, I found my last appointment extremely disappointing. While the lady at the front desk was polite, the waiting room was crowed to standing room only, with truly no order. What’s more, I had my appt on March 15th, and the frames I wanted, I was told, were not in the store… but could be ordered. When I asked how long, they said two weeks. Two weeks came and went, and when I showed up, they told me there was an error on the manufacturers end. As I was standing there I was told it would be another 2 weeks. I waited a month, never hearing anything back, only to hap-hazardly walk into the store, and inquire. I was told they had been there since April 9th, yet I received no call. Then I was told there was an issue with an external vendor who is supposed to make calls… basically, everything is someone else’s fault. I then find out today, apparently I was charged a 20 dollar deposit for some glasses, I never received. I would like to talk to someone there, who actually has the authority to do something other than say everything is someone else’s fault and „Sorry“. Again, as stated, I will not be coming back to this store due to lack of customer care, and competence.» In short, i don’t see the difference in them and wal-mart. maybe i can’t see it, cause i never got the glasses…

My Children have been going here for 5 years. I needed an exam last year and chose to go to a different place based on convenience(Stafford versus Fredericksburg). My experience at My Eye Doctor was not nearly as comforting as the numerous times my children have been to Dr. Madison’s office. So this year I booked my appointment with Dr. Madison; it was great from the time I walked in to the time I left. Friendly staff, prompt service and good selection on glasses. I was not eligible with my insurance for new frames, but their office has a selection of reasonably priced frames to choose from.

The doctor was thorough with the tests and the tech used the latest technology. However… She didn’t even bother checking my glasses or even ask if I already had a pair, but that was really just an oversight so no big deal there. On the other hand, I had to wait over 40 minutes for my scheduled eye exam. I had to leave b/c I couldn’t wait another hour to sit with the salesperson to go over the frames. So when I returned to drop off my frames I waited over an HOUR to be seen. While I was waiting, I overheard confident sales reps talking with other patients about their eyeglass needs and thought, boy these folks will help me figure out just what I want. Wrong. Ysenia sat down with me and was more confused than I was, very timid and slow as molasses. I have two insurance plans and she claimed they can only run one and they couldn’t run my eye exam on the more comprehensive plan(eg the one that’s cheaper for me). Not helpful in the least and I had to leave before they even got around to checking me out. Oh and both days I went in the middle of a weekday, when I thought it would be slow while most folks were at work or school. Not so much. So, beware! Don’t go here if you’re looking to get in and out quickly or if you need an «expert.» It’s just another store-front eyeglass shop. If that’s all you need, you’ll be fine.

I had a very bad experience at this practice and I feel it is important to warn others about what happened. My son went to get glasses there. When the glasses arrived they were way to large for his head and did not fit him properly. During his fitting we were lead to believe that the glasses would fit him once they were adjusted. We planned to come back and find glasses that fit his face. He is 13 and they had a very limited selection for his age. We finally decided to go with contacts. I paid the additional fees associated with him being fitted for contacts which were very high and we returned once again for ANOTHER appointment. I was told the contacts would be shipped directly to our home. In a week the contacts did arrive to the house. My son put the new contacts in his eyes and instantly began complaining that he could not see. He proceeded to walk down the stair and stated that the contacts were giving him a horrible headache. I called the office to see what I should do. Must to my horror it was determined that they had sent me son the WRONGPERSCRIPTION! He was sent a prescription 9 times his contact strength. I was instructed to drive back to the office again and they would swap out the wrong contacts. Upon arriving the office AGAIN they took the contacts that had been sent to me incorrectly and said they brought me new contacts. I began to leave and was very upset that my son had worn contacts that were not his prescription. I glanced down as I was leaving and noticed they had ONCEAGAINGAVEMETHEWRONGPERSCRIPTION. I was so upset. Dr. Madison called and apologized saying that this was a huge error. She informed me they would send the correct prescription and refund me all the money I had spent at the practice. We did receive the correct contacts finally after several weeks and several trips and phone calls down to the office. As for the refund I have only received a portion of that. When I called to find out the status I was told that I would only receive a partial refund. This was not what Dr. Madison had told me. After several more phone calls, I was told I would receive the additional reimbursement. Weeks have passed and still the final portion of the reimbursement has not arrived. I have called several times and the office staff is rude and very unprofessional. I think it is important to note that while I was in the office I witnessed several other patients complain to the staff about the experience they were having with the practice. I would NEVER use this doctor again or would I recommend it to anyone! I feel so strongly about this that I will be filling a compliant with the Virginia Board of Optometry.

Im a new patient and decided too give contacts a try.Dr.Mitra Madison has been the best dr. ever working with me for the fit and proper lense type, ensuring I am completely satisfied with my frames as well and most important to me is providing the service of a professional business. There is a large selection of frame types to choose from and the office is clean and the equipment used appears to be newer and not decades old. The staff is friendly, but can be very busy.

Eye Care Doctors of Optometry in Fredericksburg, VA is great I have been going to there office for the last 4 years. Very Friendly staff and great doctors. They are very thorough with the eye exams with myself and my 6 year old child. The staff is very patience with children which is nice its hard to find a place that works well with Adults & Children.

I found this eye doctor by checking which places closest to me took my insurance, and calling down the list to try to get an appointment for the next day. This was the first place I was able to get into, after five or six other tries, so bonus points for that. I didn”t have to wait very long and the doctor seemed thorough and did all the glaucoma tests. I got fitted for contacts, and with the insurance the cost was reasonable. I would recommend this place.
