Very nice Fredericksburg Restaurant Week dinner. Service a bit erratic. Siduri Pinot taken from their mini wine-store complemented our meal(be prepared to pay corkage). Crab corn chowder was tasty albeit a bit salty. Butternut squash soup with truffle oil was sublime. Small portion of pork loin was perfectly prepared and tasty. Sea bass was cooked perfectly and tasted good. Chocolate pot de crème was killer whereas the«cheese plate» underwhelmed with four small slices and two nice shmears(one fig and one blueberry). Suggest you not sit by the door during cold weather unless you like gusts of cold.

We went there for lunch during restaurant week 2016 my meal was good. The crab and corn chowder was extremely tasty and lots of chunks of crab, my sandwich on the other hand was very bland and didn’t have much flavor to it. I ordered the chicken breast with Brie on a roll. My husband had a smoked turkey wrap and he said that was very flavorful. Can’t say anything bad just can rave about it

My new favorite place. The service isn’t fast, but it’s good and that’s awesome because it gives you time to digest each course. The portions are not huge and overly large like so many places these days, but they are just enough. We had a the prixe-fix 4 course dinner without wine for $ 34/each. I had the crab and corn soup(served in a small teacup) that was chock full of crab, corn, potatoes. The second course was salad with a delicious, almost drinkable Dijon dressing. It came with bleu cheese, but they very nicely subbed ghost cheese for me since I don’t like bleu. The entrée that we ordered was steak with roasted veggies and potatoes. OMG. The BEST steak I’ve had in my life. So tender, juicy and well seasoned. I’m not really big on beef dishes, but this was beyond superb. The veggies were a perfect side. The best part of the meal was the dessert. I had the crème brulee, and it honestly brought tears to my eyes. The crust was just right. The crème was luscious and creamy and chock full of vanilla. It was an experience. The funny thing was that several folks at different tables had dessert at the same time and you could hear everyone exclaiming over it.

The food was excellent but the service was extremely slow. We were a party of 5 and waited at least 15 minutes to get drink orders in, and then about an hour for food to come out after ordering. There was one waitress doing the best she could but they needed at least 2 wait staff. I would like to go back but would hope for a more efficient experience.

You might miss it as you walk by, because of anonymous signage, but DONOTPASSBY this delicious food, in a comfortable and relaxed setting. The crab and corn chowder is amazing. Along with Bistro Bethem, this is my favorite place to eat in Fredericksburg, hands down. If you’re tempted to go to Foode, go here instead!

I had the crab and corn chowder with pork tenderloin entrée. I can’t recall when I’ve tasted so much flavor! Exceptional. This is a must try if you are a foodie. Prices were very reasonable, and Jim is terrific!

Happened by this new restaurant walking in downtown Fredericksburg the other day. Lured by the menu posted outside my husband & I decided to try it for lunch w. a couple of friends today. We were all blown away! The food was fantastic from the crab & corn chowder & squash soup to the flatbreads & roast chicken sandwich. Thankful especially for the half portions available which enabled us to try a variety of the menu offerings w/o feeling overfilled. The attention by our server Olivia was superb — unhurried & full of information to help us with our orders. Cannot wait to return for dinner to try the price fixe menu. The whole experience(ambience included) was extraordinary for Fredericksburg & reminded me of bistros we have visited in NYC& France. My new favorite!,

Excellent and I have a picky palate. Great wine selection. Crab and corn chowder was wonderful – nice blend of flavors, nothing over-seasoned, not over-creamy. Just perfect. Flatbread — mushroom goat cheese w roast tomatoes, mushroom olives & romesco was also perfect. Nothing salty, perfect crispness at the bottom and soft flavorful toppings. Good quality produce. Impressive !

The food was wonderful and the wine pairings were spot on. A new great for downtown Fredericksburg. A quieter atmosphere but all the better to enjoy the art of food. Pot de crème and the corn chowder were to die for!!!

A hidden gem. We stumbled upon it on a rainy afternoon, famished, and disgruntled at the local restaurants’ habit of closing between lunch and dinner… Delicious, delicious, delicious. The crab and corn chowder was not too heavy, not too salty, and chock full of crab, corn, and potato. My husband’s tomato bisque was equally delectable. I had a salad with blueberries and chicken in a dijon vinaigrette. Easily in my top ten salads. The chicken was tender, moist, and flavorful, the dressing was light and bright, and the blueberries added just the right sweetness to balance the dish. We also had little lettuce wraps filled with bacon and tomato for a snack. Simple, but very tasty. Another highlight of the meal was our server, Caroline. Despite only working at the restaurant for a week, she was knowledgeable about the menu, extremely attentive, friendly, and delivered prompt and excellent service. Check this place out. You wont be disappointed!

Dare I say? This is my new favorite restaurant in Fredericksburg! I love that the dining room is small and laid back. I love that the owner let us try a taste of two different wines before we committed to a bottle. I love that the hours have been extended for dinner. But most of all, I love that this place doesn’t have the snobby pretention of some of the other downtown Fredericksburg restaurants(I’m looking at you, La Petite…) We started with the salmon dip and the special crab flatbread. Both were great(though the salmon spread was truly delightful). I’d skip the cheese appetizer in the future, as it wasn’t anything special. For our mains, I ordered the pork tenderloin in the world’s most delicious sherry mushroom sauce. I’m not lying, I could take a bath in that sauce. It was fantastic. Paired with a pinot noir that just made the whole thing melt. Oh sweet heavens, it was magic. The others in our group got the sea bass and the crab cakes, which were good, don’t get me wrong, but I won dinner dish selection hands down and feel immense pride, having really done nothing to deserve it. We split a few desserts and Jim brought out a key lime something for us to try on the house, which was so kind of him. The crème brulee was great. I didn’t love their port selection, but the pour was generous and it wasn’t that expensive. I thought it was much more affordable than I was anticipating, Jim was great and the food far exceeded my expectations. Two enthusiastic thumbs up in my book. I already have a return trip planned.

Our friends had recommended this place, and we’ve been trying to come for a couple weeks. So happy we finally made it. Fantastic food, locally sourced and seasonal. My wife had the pork and I the sea bass. Both were spectacular and excellently paired with deliciously yet reasonably priced wines. Our only complaint was that cocktails and dessert drinks, though available, weren’t on the menu. I asked, though, and got a perfect Shiraz dessert wine. We’ll be back soon.
